00:13Hi, Naturally Curly World. Welcome back to Watch and Go, the show where we watch things and review them while we do our watch and goes.
00:20Today, I'm actually going to be reviewing a podcast. So it's more of a listen and go.
00:25And a lot of you may have already heard of it. It's called Missing Richard Simmons.
00:29So before I get started reviewing, I'm going to tell you which products I'm going to be using on my hair today.

00:55So while I detangle, I'm going to tell you more about Missing Richard Simmons.
00:58You can find it pretty much anywhere you can find podcasts.
01:03I listen to it on iTunes.
01:04It's narrated by this man named Dan Taberski.
01:08And he used to go to Richard Simmons' dance class.
01:13He has a studio in Hollywood named Slimmons, obviously.
01:17Because what else would you name a Richard Simmons dance studio?
01:20One day, Richard Simmons just stopped coming to class.
01:23And he had, like, been religiously teaching classes there for years.
01:27So this guy, Dan Taberski, thinks it's his business to go find Richard Simmons.
01:31So basically what Dan does is he, like, finds as many people that were close to Richard Simmons as possible
01:38and asks them what happened to Richard Simmons.
01:41He's basically just trying to figure out, like, where Richard Simmons went.
01:44And LAPD actually went to Richard Simmons' house on two separate occasions,
01:48went and talked to Richard Simmons, and were basically like, are you okay?
01:52And Richard Simmons was like, yeah, I'm fine.
01:55I just don't want to talk to anybody.
01:56If you've ever seen the podcast Serial, it reminds me a lot of that kind of narration.
02:00And so, like, the first episode or two are really interesting.
02:04But then, to me, it kind of devolves into, like, a complete invasion of Richard Simmons' privacy.
02:08The narrator keeps saying, like, oh, I'm just doing this because I really care about my friend.
02:13But I just, like, really kept feeling like, if you really cared that much about your friend,
02:17why are you making a national podcast invading his privacy like this?
02:22Like, it's pretty clear by the end of the podcast that he doesn't want to be bothered.
02:27And it becomes really obvious, like, in the course of the podcast that Richard Simmons is probably really depressed
02:34and had been for a really long time.
02:37Okay, so now I'm going to section my hair and put this DevaCurl light-defining gel in.
02:44A lot of you probably know Richard Simmons.
02:47He got really popular in, like, the 80s as a fitness instructor.
02:51He was popular in the same time as, like, uh, what's her name?
02:56Buns of Steel Girl.
02:57He wears, like, the leotards.
02:59And he's just, like, really over the top.
03:02He was kind of forgotten about.
03:03And then, um, you hear that, like, he's gone into hiding almost.
03:08And it's really weird because you think of him as such an outgoing person.
03:12One of the craziest theories about his disappearance in the podcast is that he's, like, being held hostage by his housekeeper.
03:20And one person in the podcast actually, like, believes she's a witch and is, like, casting spells on him.
03:28And that's why he's acting like this.

03:36So, in the sixth episode, spoilers, but you don't hear from Richard Simmons.
03:41Like, nothing really happens.
03:43Dan doesn't get what he wants, which kind of, like, makes me happy because he didn't really deserve it anyways.
03:48As I said in my last watch and go, volume is a big struggle for me, especially with my roots, which is why I put this uplifting mousse in my roots.
03:58And then I'm going to diffuse this time because I find that the heat really helps encourage my waves.
04:10So, I just finished blow drying.
04:13I'm really liking how much volume this gave my hair.
04:17I'm really liking this wash and go.
04:20So, I would probably give this podcast a three out of five stars.
04:24Definitely appealed to, like, the nosy, gossipy side of me.
04:29But, like, the moral, upstanding side of me was like,
04:32I don't know about this.
04:34It makes me uncomfortable in my heart.
04:37So, three out of five.
