Mielle - Shop the Look
Transcript
00:00Our inspiration is Wakanda Warrior, focusing on the women that were in the movie, the unity, the coming together, even in the parts of the separation and how we fight. We may fight, we may be catty, we may be, you know, just at odds and competitive, but at some point we have to come together and to be unified and to work together for a bigger purpose.
00:21My name is Keith Glover and I'm the lead stylist with Mayelle Organics. This year we came back again with the body paint because that's like our signature theme. Every model has a warrior look, so we have TWA's, tiny winning afros, we have combed coils, we have very intricate braid styles. When you think about warrior women, traditionally speaking, they always had something that was close to their scalp, so again if they're fighting it won't be pulled or something to show their stature or their leadership role.
00:49This year we're actually launching three new products, so this is something that, again, you can find at Sally's Beauty, the Comegranate Honeyline, and it's for the 4C type girl. They will love it, it's our moisturizing and detangling shampoo and conditioner.
01:04With the curl refresher, the days that you want to do some fresher curls, guess what you want to grab at Sally. The model that we chose to portray a zebra, she has these very, very small, intricate, detailed braids.
01:16You don't have to, if you're at home, you don't have to do it as small, but it's in a Mohawk style, and then the center of it is like a braid, and you can actually do an under braid, an over braid, and however, you can funk it out into the afro, so you can have so many different variations with the styling technique that it's fun.
01:33The texture hair is phenomenal. It's so many different dynamics of it, so many different levels to it. It's so versatile. You can wear it, you can go straight, you can blow it out, you can braid it, you can add hair to it, you can color it.
01:46God created us like this, so it can't go anywhere. It's going to always be here, so it's infinite.
