00:09Last January, I just so happened to be in the shower.
00:11I went to the doctor for my annual checkup.
00:14I had a physical, and the doctor said, you're great.
00:17I don't know what came across me, but I just wanted to do a breast exam.
00:20And my doctor found the lump on my breast.
00:22I remember sitting in that waiting room for that final diagnosis.
00:26It was so scary.
00:28Rosa called me. She told me.
00:30And I just remember falling to my knees and just bawling.
00:34Man, that was rough.
00:36Breast cancer definitely made me fearless.
00:38And that's why I knew I had to be an advocate.
00:40And what I learned by going through it was that I needed to take up space and use my voice.
00:45My son losing his father, it made me fight harder.
00:48Because I said, he's not going to lose two parents.
00:51Here's the goodness.
00:52You beat breast cancer.
00:54We survive, and that's the story that we need to tell.
