00:00We cannot end this without speaking about performing arts. I think, like I said, like in
00:06light of the strike, I think there were still, we still got a lot of really, really amazing
00:11stage plays out this year. And I think my personal favorite was Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen.
00:18I got the opportunity to speak with her. She was really, really amazing. And what's so amazing
00:24about Hell's Kitchen is that it's, you know, loosely based on Alicia's life. But I think
00:29beyond that, it initially made its debut in public theater, but it was so good. And
00:35it was so sought after. Like all the shows are still sold out right now. Yeah. In the
00:40spring, they're actually making some, they're making it to Broadway. So that would be really
00:44exciting. So yeah, yeah, yeah. But I know The Wiz was also something really, really good
00:49to come out this year too. And Okla, I know that was produced in part by Candy Burris and
00:54Todd Tucker.
00:54Yes. Yes. And I think too, with that, like some, just with films too, sometimes revivals
01:01don't really work. And remakes don't really work. But I think The Wiz just has a formula
01:06that's like tried and true. You know, Diana Ross and Michael Jackson and everybody that's
01:13just been attached to this franchise. So, you know, from the amazing score, the visuals of
01:19Black Beauty. I'm hoping that this revival reaches the heights of like Hamilton and the
01:23Lion King too. I think it deserves it. And, you know, like Deborah Cox, I love her. And
01:29Michelle Betts, who plays Dorothy. And Wayne Brady is going to be part of the 2024 production
01:35too.
01:35What's really special about The Wiz is just this moment, I think, that we're having of
01:43Black stage plays being successful in Black in the States, being successful too. So it's
01:48kind of adding to that, that, that zeitgeist of everything too. So that's why I'm really
01:54in support of it. And I just love the story too, because you know, The Wiz of the Eyes is
01:58just a timeless, seeing people that look like us on this particular stage play. I think
02:04it, it'll expose it to the young generation too, so we can keep that legacy going.
02:08Well, that was amazing. That's all for us, Essies. We want to say happy holidays to you.
02:14Happy new year. And we're super, super excited for all the new entertainment things to come
02:18in 2024.
