00:00It started off very rocky. When my parents passed, there was no provisions, is that the word, I guess, for me.
00:09And that was jarring because I would say that they were a financially affluent black family, but just no preparations for death.
00:22And I'm adopted. So when my parents passed, I was on my ass on the streets. I couch surfed for a little bit.
00:32I could not deal with the shame of my circumstances. And I took myself to Skid Row, which is crazy, thinking back on it.
00:48But it was so pivotal and such. It was so pivotal and exactly where I needed to be.
00:56My my early start was actually not a start at all. I was really just trying to figure it out.
01:04I was waitressing, actually, at Simply Wholesome and playing with these cards, trying to get myself together.
01:11And just the consistency of that attracted other people.
01:17And I started pulling their cards and I realized, like, I might be kind of good at this.
01:23And we just continue to develop.
01:26But it really was haphazard. It really was in pursuit of my own peace and stability that brought me to this.
01:35First, I want to preface and say I'm not a tarot reader. I'm not a card reader.
01:44I do use cards, but that is not my medium.
01:48Spirit communicates to me and I communicate what spirit has communicated.
01:53I feel like the astrology, the tarot, the crystals are all extensions and expressions of the Most High that really bring out our magic.
02:09And our magic has been suppressed.
02:12And I feel like black folks have got I always say black folks, we got to go watch Birth of a Nation.
02:18That is my homework to folks.
02:21We have to watch Birth of a Nation.
02:23I think that we have to, as people of color, recognize how religion, how Christianity has been manipulated to suppress our magic.
02:35So, not saying that I don't identify with Christianity.
02:39I'm not saying, obviously, that I don't believe in God.
02:42But I do feel that we have been truly manipulated.
02:46And through these modalities, I've gotten closer to spirit.
02:51I've gotten closer to my spirit, my essence, you know, and the essence of God.
02:57So, I want us to be open-minded.
03:01I want us, as people of color, to recognize that we have a plethora of modalities that we can rely on that can support our journeys.
03:12And I speak about God so much because I know that there is apprehension and I know that there is resistance.
03:21But when we hear that sweet name, okay, something about that nation.
03:27I know you didn't ask for all that.
03:30Okay, but I feel like it disarms folks and they're a little bit more receptive.
03:38I know you didn't ask for all that.
03:43Bye.
03:45Bye.
04:05Bye.
04:05Bye.
04:05Bye.
04:05Bye.
04:06Bye.
04:06Bye.
04:06Bye.
04:08Bye.
