00:00It was a lot of fun but there were days where I would get in my head and I was like Storm you
00:05have to be grounded. I just never wanted to look crazy. You know how like you can have a facial
00:10reaction and it not might not be the best reaction to have so I wanted to stay real. I wanted to stay
00:16as grounded as possible but there were some moments where I was a little bit doubtful.
00:21I didn't know if I executed the right way. You need to let the police handle this. I tried.
00:26I'm not giving up on my mom.
00:33Siri, call June. Mom, this is FaceTime. Oh gosh. I need you to write a couple of things down. The car
00:39keys. I just said write it down. You're not writing it down. Kevin and I are headed to LAX and we need
00:45you to pick us up on Monday. Keep your location on the entire time I'm away. No fun. Got it.
00:56I did want to ask you, with Missing, it's a lot different the storytelling wise, the screen life
01:10aspect of it. You're playing to screen a lot more than you're playing to other actors. What was that
01:16experience like for you? It was very challenging. It's something that I wasn't used to. I'm used to
01:22having scene partners. I'm used to having staging and blocking and cameras set up to where I can
01:29just do my thing but everything took place on the computer so once I got the technological aspects
01:35together with also having to incorporate the emotional stakes of the movie, I started to have
01:44a really good time. Speaking of those emotional stakes, you had to carry so much of this film
01:49through your reactions and through your emotional performance. What was it like to kind of have to
01:55drive the storytelling so much independently? Yeah, I mean it was a lot of fun but there were
02:02days where I would get in my head and I was like, Storm, you have to be grounded. I just never wanted to
02:07look crazy. You know how like you could have a facial reaction and it might not be the best reaction
02:13to have so I wanted to stay real. I wanted to stay as grounded as possible but there were some moments
02:19where I was a little bit doubtful. I didn't know if I executed the right way. Having a legend like
02:25Nia Long playing your mother in this film, being a veteran in acting and also being you know an icon
02:31in our community, what was it like having the opportunity to learn from her on set and what are
02:36some of the tips and tricks you might have picked up along the way? Yeah, I mean like you said she's an icon
02:41in our community. She is a legend in her own right so to just be able to work with people
02:46that you have grown up watching is a blessing and she's so sweet and so talented and she poured into
02:52me on set and it was very helpful and was there to empower me and make me feel seen and heard on set
02:58which I really appreciated and still appreciate and I love, I like to absorb and I just like to observe
03:06and watch people on set and I love when people aren't afraid to take risks and she definitely took risks
03:15and she did takes differently and I admire that because sometimes I used to like you know get set
03:21in my ways of how I felt like my character should be acting or how I should be reacting in a scene and
03:27I like that she was able to switch it up and um that was really cool so I I kind of took that from her.
03:34Now I did want to ask you the film has kind of a hidden subplot in kind of the margins um was that
03:41something that you um were able to see did you know about that during filming or was it something
03:45that was like a surprise for you you got to see the finished product? No yes well I haven't seen it yet I
03:49did like obviously know uh reading the script but I think that's what was so intriguing because every
03:55time I felt like I knew what was happening I didn't and I was on the edge of my seat so
04:00all the twists and the turns and the plot uh twist and like just the emotional states even while reading
04:07it I fell in love with so um I'm glad that we were able to execute that. Thank you so much for your time
04:13today. Yes thank you.
