00:00and something i loved about when you first hit the scene um you know with your first album
00:06and watching you as an artist was that you i feel like you were the only emcee that i saw
00:09at that time who had the look that you did like you kept your hair like about this long
00:14you had the you had the paw print like tattoos and everybody's like i'm gonna do something like
00:18that too um you know what you know you had a very just different very bold appearance and how did
00:25your so i wanted to ask you how did your label initially react to this look and what motivated
00:29you to introduce yourself to the world in this bold way at a time when everybody's got like the long
00:35hair very very over sexualized but not necessarily in a bad way but just that was the style yeah i
00:43i really was i just wanted to be me like i just i wanted to just be me um and thankfully with the
00:52the rough riders they never tried to make me be anything other than who i was they really um
00:58celebrated and um help you know nurture the the artist that i wanted to be they never had opinions
01:05about what i wore um or how i did my hair or anything so i think i was very lucky um with them
01:13because like you said you know at that time that wasn't the norm so for them not to kind of make me
01:20so to speak or you know or try to influence me in some way to try to be something else i think i was
01:24really lucky with that but i think with them as well they kind of saw like okay um i guess i was so
01:31strong in who i was my filliness i don't know like this is the this is the artist i want to be this is
01:37the mc i want to be they kind of yeah they kind of just let me do me
