00:00In order for me to be a great mommy and a great entrepreneur, I have to check myself first and
00:04make sure that I'm doing good. But you're a good woman though. Oh, I thank you. So you, so it's
00:09easy to be a good mother. You about to propose to me? I was about to say cut. But yeah, being an
00:19entrepreneur and a parent just really gives me the motivation to keep being dedicated to what
00:25the end goal is. And the end goal is to create generational wealth for my family. Hey, what's
00:29up? It's your girl, Pinky Cole. And it's your boy, Dee Hayes. And you are checking out Essence
00:34Uncovered.
00:45What does it mean to me to be on the cover of Essence? I prayed for this moment. Literally
00:52all of my life as a kid, I literally said, I'm going to be on the cover of Essence. I'm
00:57going to be a star. And being on this cover is bigger than just seeing Pinky Cole. Being
01:03on the cover is every single entrepreneur who has big dreams to make it, to make their business
01:09go viral and make multi-million dollars and just really realizing their dream. And people
01:14get to see it through me, a girl from East Baltimore who had big dreams and big visions and was
01:20able to manifest them that landed me to this opportunity here. And that's what we're going
01:24to ask. And so I'm excited. I feel good. How are you?
01:26I'm still living in the moment.
01:28You know, it's funny because as entrepreneurs, we always talk about being on big platforms
01:35and letting the world know about our organizations.
01:36And now they're about to see, you know, that two entrepreneurs that have restaurants, what
01:41we stand for, the mission that we're on. And it's so, you know, we're so grateful for that.
01:46Yeah. It feels like a dream. And to be able to have my friends and family witness this moment
01:53and to be able to walk into a store and we pick ourselves up off the shelf, like that's priceless.
01:58You can't pay for that. So I'm excited that what we've built has gotten us here. And I'm even
02:04more excited to know that this is only the beginning.
02:06Yeah. And for me, I get to see, well, my 88 year old grandmother, she get to see, you know,
02:12me in the markets, you know, she raised me. I told her when I started this business,
02:16when I was losing all my family, that she would see her grandson break barriers. And that's what
02:21I'm doing. So it's amazing. We out of here. Right now, being an entrepreneur is probably
02:29one of the most attractive professions in America as we speak. And I'm just happy that I'm anchoring
02:35that entrepreneurship to a space of people that otherwise probably wouldn't consider it
02:41or never would have learned or knew how to execute their dreams. So I'm proud to be a black woman
02:47entrepreneur. And I'm proud to be an example for so many women who want to do exactly what I want to do.
02:54I get to be myself. I get to teach other women and men who look like me. I get to inspire the masses.
03:01I get to literally create my own blueprint. And I don't even have to follow a blueprint that was
03:06already created. I get to be my own creative and I had the level of freedom and access and resources
03:12to the things that I want all because I've created such a wild major and beautiful brand. So if you
03:19ask me how it feels to be a black woman entrepreneur, it's . If you ask me what it feels like
03:25to be able to lead and disrupt a space in the food industry, I'm grateful because I know not
03:32many have made it this far in this space. To have a restaurant tour on the cover of Essence magazine
03:39and all of the major publications that you see me on, you don't really see people like me on those
03:45magazines. You don't really see people who have created concepts around food that make it on Lifestyle
03:50magazine. So to be able to do that is big and I'm grateful and I'm excited about what the future has
03:56to hold. Life as a new mom and business owner at the same time is not easy. I'm so grateful for my
04:05mother and our family for being able to support us in the busiest times of our life. Like we are
04:12literally moving and shaking. We got like three, four, five meetings a day and building a brand. And when
04:18you're building a brand, it's so important to have a village around you. So because we have
04:22a strong village, we are able to be truly entrepreneurs and create that generational
04:28wealth that we also dream about. So that one day our children will never have to work a day in their
04:33life if they choose not to. Talk about how tired you really be though when you come in the house though.
04:38You ain't giving that part. Damn, I didn't even get there. Yes, I get tired as an entrepreneur.
04:44There you go. I get tired, right? But tired just tells me that I'm doing something right.
04:51And I like to take moments for myself for a mental check-in to make sure that I'm taking care of me.
04:58Because in order for me to be a great mommy and a great entrepreneur, I have to check
05:02myself first and make sure that I'm doing good. But you're a good woman though. Oh, I thank you.
05:06So you, so it's easy to be a good mother. You about to propose to me?
05:14I was like cat. But yeah, being an entrepreneur and a parent just really gives me the motivation
05:21to keep being dedicated to what the end goal is. And the end goal is to create generational wealth
05:27for my family. And that's exactly what you're doing now, but you're one of the hardest working
05:30people I've seen in my life. So I had to get you flowers. But for me, I already had kids. So now
05:37it's still, it's a lot different because my life leveled up, you know, with my career. So I'm a lot
05:42more busier. So what Pinky is saying is absolutely true. I feel like, you know, you got to try to figure
05:48out, you know, what's important and still try to keep time for everything in your life that you love.
05:53But this is the part that's building the part that's going to take care of what you love.
05:56So you got to leverage that out. So when people say, make time and do this and do that. Yes,
06:01you have to make time for your loved ones because that's important. But I also got to get to this
06:05bag so I can help my loved ones when I ain't here no more. So I think that is the most important thing
06:10right now is managing and leveraging the time. And that's what we're both working on. I think we're
06:14doing a good job at, you know, what we got in our lives going on. You're doing a great job. Yeah.
