00:00Based on the Progressive Wage Policy, there's 7,121 employers which have registered themselves.
00:08Out of these, 5,910 have put in their applications to get it approved.
00:16Out of these, 4,025 employers have been approved.
00:20And this brings benefit to almost 51,000 workers.
00:24Now, based on these 51,000 workers, if you see, they get a RM300 a month increase in their salary.
00:33So, generally, based on the DOSM statistics, before this it was RM2,100.
00:40Now, it's about RM2,390 they get.
00:44So, this not just gives them a base to hike up on their salary, but it also gives them something which is job security.
00:52They feel more comfortable, they feel more appreciated.
00:55These are among the few things that is there.
00:57And also, it gives them job security.
01:01And the income which is given them is a stability.
01:04And it also shows them there is career progression.
01:08Like anything, we work hard.
01:10All of us, after a year's hard work, we hope that we can get a bonus.
01:14Sometimes, after a year's hard work, and we have performed, and we have delivered, and we have contributed to the employee or the establishment that we work for,
01:24we hope that we get at least something to show a little appreciation that our work is appreciated.
01:29It gives you the confidence.
01:30It gives the workers the confidence.
01:31And it also basically gives them that feeling that they are appreciated, which I think is very important.
01:37And it also gives them a way whereby they want to continue staying in that industries and not jumping from industry to industry or from workplace to workplace.
01:46So, I think this is one of the fundamental things to look at.
01:49Forty-five percent of SME workers have their wage increase by RM300 or more.
01:57Forty-five percent.
01:58I think this is a very big number that is receiving these benefits.
02:05The other thing that we need to look at also is, of course, the projected financial commitment.
02:10Projected financial commitment previously was over $160 million for 2026.
02:16For 2027, it's support.
02:19We target it for it to rise to $286 million.
02:23It's a big climb that is being given.
02:27So, of course, we want to create a sustainable labor market.
02:32That is one of the main things that the Madani government wants to do.
02:36And I think by these initiatives that we put in and we implement, I think it will be a good way moving forward
02:43that we are able to make sure that the workers in Malaysia are appreciated.
02:49I think the key word here is appreciation.
02:51A lot of them feel underappreciated because of the reasons before whereby all these years I've been working,
02:58I don't have a pay height.
03:00The minimum wage we have implemented now.
03:03So, it gives them a way that we realize your contribution.
