00:00When you do tune in, you see, you know, you see people, people that are your neighbors, people that you're familiar with, you know, who are really trying to do something good for someone else.
00:12And I think that's what's great about the show.
00:19First of all, congratulations on another season.
00:21But second, this show is hard.
00:24You know, how often do you all know the answers when people are making their guesses?
00:30Yeah, I mean, all of our contestants, they have such incredible stories.
00:34Our producers do a great job at finding people who really deserve the money, who are also just, you know, music buffs, know their stuff.
00:41And so, you know, I forget that we're filming.
00:43And so sometimes I'm really in the game with these people.
00:46And it's, you know, it's sad when people don't win, but then when they do win, you're crying with them.
00:53And, you know, all these people just have such amazing stories.
00:57Yeah, man.
00:58And, you know, people are, and, you know, a lot of times, you know, no one's selfish.
01:02Am I right, Corinne?
01:03No one's playing for themselves.
01:05They're either playing for a mom and she has a, she needs a kidney or medical or, or, or, or student loans.
01:14I mean, so that's what's great about the show.
01:16I think that's why the show has been just steadily going along because when you do tune in, you see, you know, you see people, people that, people that, that are your neighbors, people that you're familiar with, you know, who are really trying to do something good for someone else.
01:34And I think that's what's great about the show.
01:36Yeah.
01:37And Jim, you've obviously done so much across so many genres, but did you see game show hosts in your future at some point?
01:44No, it's crazy.
01:45I did.
01:46Like years ago, my manager, I said, listen, everybody's going to do a game show.
01:52You got to think about six, seven years ago, I say, everybody's going to do a game show.
01:56And they're like, what you do?
01:58I say, yo, man, the world and change.
02:00It used to be back in the day, you do movies and you had a scarf around your neck and in the corner and dim light and all that kind of stuff where you did it.
02:06And you could only do those things.
02:08I said, but the world is opening up now.
02:10You know, it's about not just your talent, but about your brand.
02:12But I said, the right, the right game show was going to be huge.
02:19And then everybody got one, I'm The Rock got one, Kevin Hart got one, Ellen DeGeneres got one.
02:24And we got one, but we feel like ours was just, it was just the right format, you know, music, fun, family.
02:34So, yeah, I mean, you look at it, you're doing a game show and then two weeks ago, you won an Oscar.
02:43So, you know what I'm saying?
02:45Man, it's like, I'm happy that the world opened up like that because for me, I would sit home and go like, man, I want to do this, I want to do that.
02:53Now we can actually get out there.
02:54And then how great is it is to have my daughter at the helm, you know, orchestrating me, you know, it's great.
03:02Yeah.
03:03And Corinne, I feel like thinking about this with music, I feel like the one question I didn't ask you before was, do you sing like your dad?
03:08Like, how big into music are you?
03:12I'm a huge music buff and I feel like I have an ear for music.
03:16If I could sing, I would have an album out.
03:18So that's how you know I can't sing.
03:20No.
03:22You know, I probably want my boyfriend to death because I sing all the time, but is it good?
03:28No.
03:29Okay, honestly.
03:30You know, and this obviously is not, you know, your first venture together.
03:36So can you talk about what the secret has been for both of you of just being able to work together so closely, so consistently?
03:43I will say for me, Dad, I feel like you've done such a great job of making me feel like, not feel, but making sure that my voice was always heard
03:53and feeling like I could speak up about the things they need to speak up about and just we had such a mutual respect for one another, you know, being father and daughter and having our own rapport.
04:04And I feel like it's just, you would think it was a hard transition to go from family members to coworkers, but it really wasn't at all.
04:13My daughter's smart.
04:15My daughter's very smart and she's been around this business for so long and her hunches are great, you know, and that's the thing.
04:21It's like giving her her power, it helps me learn because, you know, when we get older, you know, sometimes your hunches may not be in the right place.
04:29You know, it may be a little old, I have to dust some things off.
04:32She'd be like, Dad, I know what you want to say, but this is how we say it now in today's world.
04:36So, you know, you rely on that and that gives me energy and then watching her grow and she's got things that are going to come out that even with me, not even involved in it.
04:45She wrote an incredible script that I wasn't even anywhere close to me and you go like, and it knocks your head off.
04:53So that's when you feel good about, you know, not only having your family, your daughter with you, but the fact that they're great and they can create their own magic.
05:04That's what's amazing.
05:04Yeah. And the response, you know, to your other show, you know, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me has just been so positive.
05:10How does that feel for both of you?
05:13You know, I feel like that project is so, like, not cathartic, but it's, you know, it's our story.
05:20And so what we were really sharing there was my experience as his daughter and then his experience, you know, raising a daughter.
05:27And so, you know, I'm just so happy it resonated with people and people could maybe see themselves in our relationship.
05:35Yeah, and be able to be, listen, and let me give props to my daughter to be the executive producer on the show.
05:43To be doing it during a pandemic, to be doing it when we didn't get a chance to have a live studio audience,
05:51she was there making sure we could do the best show we could do under those circumstances.
05:58And then to watch it play out and have everybody going, you know, crazy for it.
06:03That's what it's all about.
06:04And then you strap it up and hopefully we get, you know, another chance to do it and then start, you know, creating.
06:09Because we have so many other stories and so many other things that we want to do with it.
06:13So it feels good, man, to be able to have those moments when we're running up and down Sunset Boulevard with a billboard.
06:19I mean, come on, man, that Sunset Boulevard has been there for lifetimes and people don't get a chance to get on that street.
06:28And then look up there and see something that your daughter did, man.
06:31Come on, that lets you know, God is good.
06:36I think you brought a jinx to me now.
06:41I have to tell you, after I interviewed you both for the show, my dad asked if he could come stay with me.
06:46And he's been staying with me.
06:48And I came home and he was watching Dad stop embarrassing me.
06:52There you go.
06:55Let Daddy come on home.
06:56That's what I'm going to do.
06:57My daughter got a place.
06:59I'm on my way over there as soon as I get home.
07:01Uh-oh.
07:02I'll give him a million.
07:04Yes.
07:05But thank you, Mom.
07:06It's such a pleasure to see you and congratulations.
