00:01I need everyone on this cake!
00:07He could be anywhere!
00:09He could be anyone!
00:11We're gonna tear this city apart.
00:30I would love to start with who or what convinced you to join this horror franchise of Saw?
00:38Wow, this is not a very essence movie, but...
00:43Right.
00:45But thank you for interviewing me anyway, Brandy.
00:49You all right.
00:51From now on, me and you, we're tight.
00:54I was just interested, you know, anytime I get a chance to do something new, that excites me.
01:00You know, so I'd never been in a horror movie, you know?
01:05And it's like, wow, okay.
01:07I saw a couple of the Saw movies, I was like, it'd be cool if I could insert some comedy into this.
01:12Yes.
01:14And I talked to the people at Lionsgate, and they were all for it.
01:19We took some meetings, and we got a script, and here we are.
01:22Okay.
01:23And I wanted to ask, like, how involved were you with the script?
01:27Because I was cracking up from the first time you were on screen, and I wondered how much was you?
01:32How much was ad-libbing?
01:33Like, how did that work?
01:35I mean, we had a little, we had kind of a deal or arrangement where I was in charge of the comedy.
01:41Okay.
01:43And the director and the producers were in charge of, like, the horror parts of it.
01:47Okay.
01:48So, you know, when we got together, we kind of agreed that it's, you know, we don't want, I can be funny, but I can't be funny to the point I undermine the horror.
01:59Yeah.
02:00Make you not scared.
02:01You know what I mean?
02:02Yeah.
02:03So, it was, like, kind of a little tightrope to walk, but I think we did the job.
02:08Yeah, yeah, for sure.
02:09Now, this question may be a stretch, but whenever I watch the Saw franchise, I always think about, like, my own morality.
02:16And I'm like, if someone was watching me, would I be a victim going here?
02:20Did you feel that at all working on the show or the movie?
02:24Uh, was I scared?
02:27Are you thinking about yourself?
02:29Uh, yeah, I mean, yeah, you come home late with, you know, you try to, because sometimes I have blood all in my fingers and everything.
02:37I don't know, it gets, you can't not think about it a little bit, but, uh, nothing happened. I'm pretty safe.
02:43Safe yourself.
02:44Yes.
02:45Good.
02:46And then working with Samuel L. Jackson, what was that like for you?
02:49It was great, man.
02:51I mean, the thing about Sam is I'm a fan more than anything.
02:55You know, Sam's like 20 years older than me.
02:58Yeah.
02:59Even though we're, I guess we're technically peers, but I look at him like the Mount Rushmore of actors.
03:04He's one of the greatest actors to ever live.
03:06So, I was, you know, I had so much respect for him.
03:11It probably took me two days just to loosen up around him.
03:15Honestly.
03:16Okay.
03:17You know, I could like be fun and tell jokes and stuff.
03:20But, uh, I was just having a fun time watching him work, man.
03:24It's like, this man knows what he's doing.
03:27Yeah.
03:28Yeah.
03:29So what else, you know, do you see yourself jumping into?
03:31Like you said, this is your first horror, you know, we've seen you do documentaries, obviously comedy stand up and all of that.
03:37You know, what, what stands out to you?
03:39It's like, I want to conquer that next.
03:41No, no, I think I'm going to go back and direct.
03:43Okay.
03:44That's what I'm going to do.
03:45I haven't done in a while.
03:46Okay.
03:47So I'm going to, I'm working on a script now and, uh, hopefully I'll film it before the end of the year.
03:52I'll film it before the end of the year.
03:53I'll film it before the end of the year.
