00:24Hi, Caitlin.
00:24How are you today?
00:25Hi, I'm good.
00:26How are you?
00:27Doing fabulous.
00:28Doing fabulous.
00:29Loving your smile.
00:29Tell me a little bit more about yourself and where you're from.
00:32I am from New Orleans, born and raised.
00:35I work as a photographer, specifically music photographer, music photography, and events.
00:41So now that things are opening back up and events are starting to happen again, I'm getting back busy, so it's really exciting.
00:47This is a yes or no question to you, Caitlin.
00:50Will COVID-19 vaccines protect me from the disease?
00:55Yes.
00:56That's the purpose of it.
00:57That is the purpose of it.
00:59But we want to give you a few, just a few more details.
01:02According to the CDC, studies show that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at keeping you from getting COVID-19,
01:09and getting the vaccine will also keep you from getting seriously ill if you do get COVID-19.
01:15The vaccines teach our immune system how to recognize and to fight the virus that causes COVID-19.
01:21So we appreciate you being here today, Caitlin.
01:24Yes, ma'am.
01:25Welcome to Well Necessities, and it is supported by United Healthcare.
01:30Alaysia, tell us a little bit about yourself and where you're from.
01:35I'm from New York.
01:37I am a college student at FIT, my major upcoming junior, and I'm going to be in cosmetic and fragrance marketing.
01:44Okay, awesome, Meryl.
01:46Well, I'm so glad you're pursuing your passion and doing it so beautifully well.
01:50So we have a question for you today, particularly about COVID-19.
01:56Here is the question.
01:57If someone already had COVID-19, should they receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
02:02I would say it depends on when they got it.
02:07Ah, well, you're right on the path.
02:10According to the CDC, a COVID-19 vaccination should be offered to people regardless of a previous COVID-19 infection.
02:17While a vaccine supply is limited, the CDC recommends people wait 90 days after their COVID-19 infection
02:23before getting the vaccine because you naturally have immunity for about 90 days.
02:29So right after that, you can get your COVID-19 vaccinations.
