00:23gonna get a little bit of mac and cheese you're gonna get some sweet potatoes yes and then you're
00:27gonna take the crunch of the chicken or the chick in if you're vegan you know okay and you're just
00:33gonna get a little crunch the salty and the sweet how you guys doing good just talking about life in
00:45uh yeah this year has been crazy crazy how you guys been holding up
00:53we're here we're here we're live doing the best you can is just like that's the motto every single
01:01day right just whatever it is i mean i know as a mom like it's how are you guys managing
01:07it's crazy it's crazy you just do the best you can with what you have yeah i'll say this it's a
01:17beautiful time because we get to spend so much more quality time with our kids right but that's
01:21also a lot and it's round the clock and now we're teachers yeah work from home teaching from home
01:27and no one no one was prepared for this hour like nobody and it's about grace for me every single
01:33day has been different right there have been days that i've been really present loving you know being
01:38in the home with our kids with our partner and then there are going to be those days when i wake up
01:43and i just don't want to do it and i want to stay in bed and just feel what we're experiencing
01:49because none of this is normal no i've been big on that giving myself grace yes like saying uh okay
01:54today is a day where i thought i was going to do all these things and i guess i'm staying in the bed
02:00yes it's all okay yeah like whatever you got to do to get through yeah when you're full time with
02:04your partner or with your kids accountability is everything that's right you know what i mean and
02:09so like i might lash out or like be in a bad mood or snap so i find myself having to be really
02:14accountable yes and being mindful of that because my child is watching that's right and so like i am
02:19more mindful about my energy and like how i'm doing and how that affects everybody else around me because
02:23i need him to also learn that for me but you've been like killing it at home killing it you got a radio
02:30show and we got the show it was great we're gonna go to the station and then everything shut down so it
02:36was like we're gonna send some things to your house and we're gonna do this show and i had to build my
02:41own studio i am not a builder i'm a creative and so it was kind of like well call your team and ask
02:48them to put on a mask and come over and help you set up a light and it was back to back to back to
02:53back so there were days when i was in the bed like i'm gonna sleep today i don't really particularly
02:59like performances from home no i don't it's the strangest thing even speaking like you can do
03:05speaking online you can but like you can't pull the energy no the energy of people is missing i sit
03:11in the house and i just live off of memories sometimes like okay okay you have to sing to
03:16the camera you definitely don't have any pants on it's just weird to me but i've redefined success
03:31now during quarantine like before it was based on productivity how much can i do how many flights
03:36can i take how many goals can i crush and now it's peace to me the beautiful part about this is is that
03:42there's a lot of opportunity to redefine what that looks like so like even as working moms or just
03:47women in the industry like we have now created boundaries for ourselves because they've been
03:52mandatory and giving up this notion of perfection oh right it's gone it's gone it's gone i feel
03:59successful when i have a balance today yes when i done a bit of work no matter how big or small it is
04:05and then i get to do the things i wanted to do in my day i'll do my show and then i shut it down
04:10and i'm like talking to my plants and war in my garden and i'm picking green beans and i'm making
04:15sorrow and calling people like hey i have a certain amount it's all sterilized i got you
04:19to me that's successful i get to balance work which i never had the moment to do before
04:24literally just holding on to life we're all holding on yeah think about how many times we've seen each
04:29other in passing in an airport an event and just zombies yeah exhausted and so i needed this time
04:36to recharge absolutely right just get re-centered speaking of sorrow i got you the holidays yeah
04:43what does this look like like what do you like my family's all back in canada yeah i think the
04:48holidays this year looks like creating our own traditions and i've been away from my family for
04:52some years right they all live in the uk and i'm here so i've had to create those memories and those
04:59traditions for myself for me it's getting creative too my parents are getting older my family's between
05:04north carolina and bermuda and so using zoom or whatever it's given us the opportunity to really
05:08value the moments and the memories that we make and so you know put the phones down yeah be present
05:14be present except this year we might be on zoom yeah you know like with your family yeah like
05:193 000 miles away but i think that when we can all be together with our families again it would just
05:24mean so much more i can't wait i'm looking forward to it to new traditions yes yes
05:34so
