01:01and when you did like cover full play like i've been following you for so so long so as soon as i saw
01:11your name in my inbox i just got so so excited um and you have been at it for a minute can you talk
01:18a little bit about just your journey how you've grown as a woman and then in your art form for
01:25anybody um just getting to know you that's a minute in my dog years because i have yeah doing it for
01:34a mighty long time um but yeah that's so funny you're a true day one that pokemon thing that's
01:41hilarious i think that was like my first year of college when i did that wow but yeah i mean the
01:48journey the journey has been a crazy one but i think what's been consistent is that um i just
01:56love music and i love to sing and no matter what the circumstances were um i was always gonna keep
02:04singing so i mean that's why i'm here now because i just i never stopped you know and it's just so funny
02:09and people are like i'm so proud of you like you didn't give up i'm like this is what i do i sing
02:13and i'm not gonna stop singing and and thankfully my gift has um created opportunities you know um
02:19throughout this journey i love that and can you talk a little bit before we get into the music music
02:26how have you been doing during quarantine like i see you're giving us you know wellness wednesday
02:31thank you so much for that um why was that important for you to bring to your fans as well with
02:37the wellness um i think we're all prioritizing our health at this time you know and and so am i and
02:44um so i wanted to create something that was more focused on me um learning new things and and um
02:52trying to find ways to be healthier physically mentally um emotionally you know in every aspect
02:59so it's really just documenting my journey and also highlighting some really amazing people who have
03:04a lot of um information and knowledge in certain areas but um all in all i've been good you know
03:11it was good to kind of have the down time i wish i was on tour right now i'm not gonna lie but
03:15you know it's cool i've thrown myself in the studio and i'm just trying to practice and get better and
03:21and be a better artist by you know january or hopefully whenever the world uh opens up officially

04:03in the music video yeah that cost amigos when you need to um take a little shot um yeah so it was just
04:13a very honest portrayal of like you know what we go through when we're dealing with a heartbreak
04:20heartache um you know being crapped on um and just yeah like going through a break
04:26situation um anderson had this really cool idea and um you know we're friends he knows me so i think
04:35we were able to really um give like a very accurate portrayal of me and in a way that i i don't think
04:43i had done in my career yet you know it was goofy it was sexy it was funny it was fun and so we i feel
04:50like we covered all bases with that love that and i'm just gonna put up a little bit of b-roll of
04:56this face swap moment of anderson in the video i think it took a lot of people by surprise because
05:02i saw in the comments they were like i weren't i wasn't ready for the face swap right but your
05:06visuals to your songs like when you put out a music video is just so special like how do you come up
05:13with the concepts for your videos um well you know i have a creative team um shout out to charlene
05:22she's she's uh watching right now yeah i have i have an extraordinary team and it's just like a
05:29combination of the music and just what the music naturally inspires and then collaboration which is
05:35which i'm really big on you know both musically and when it comes to um putting the visuals together
05:41just combining superpowers and visions you know with talented people i love that um love to talk
05:50about your style uh for a second do you have any fashion inspirations um that you look to or what
05:58because i can get you know the the boho vibe from you but then also futuristic like how do you grab
06:05um your fashion inspirations for shoots and videos yes boho futuristic
06:10i'm gonna steal that um yeah it is you know i i like to if i came out with the clothing line it
06:18would probably be like all um items that that could be worn like to sleep because i like really
06:24comfortable clothes so i always have my little like yoga-esque pants on and stuff but um my family
06:31is from trinidad you know um of indian descent and you know the carnival wear the shiny stuff the um this
06:38type of garb is you know a nice little detail to throw in i think just to show love and um shout out
06:45to laurel street and again charlene for hooking me up with all my tag her link so y'all can go get
06:53some laurel street all um now i'd love to ask you this is digging in the crates a little bit
06:59um but i remember one time you tweeted something that really struck me to the core as a woman about
07:06body image um you were like shout out to the movie avatar because i finally see i feel seen with
07:12like body types oh wow how important is it nowadays like it feels like you look on instagram
07:20you look on you know advertising for clothing just like one body type of like having always this small
07:27and like boobs and hips how important is like representation of like different body types um
07:34artists yeah i love that you asked me this because um i watched rihanna savage uh x fenty
07:42show yesterday and it was so refreshing there was one girl who did like a solo dance and i'm like
07:49that's my booty like i haven't seen my booty come on in a long time you know what i mean because
07:55it's just like these crazy asses like horse stallion asses oh that was not like
08:00shout out if you got one but yeah yeah but um but it's just it was beautiful to see literally
08:08every body type represented and even someone like me who like somebody might think oh yeah
08:14she's thin or she has a model s figure but like i don't always see like real butts or whatever like
08:22smaller boobs or whatever something that would make me feel comfortable with myself um and just like
08:27show that like beauty comes in so many different forms i mean this is reality this is realistic this is
08:34this is us you know so uh yeah that matters there you definitely matters i had to ask you about that
08:40because that show was absolutely mind-blowing it wasn't amazing so it's literally something for
08:48everybody in that which is really really great um i know the people are itching for performance you
08:55have some accompaniments bring your your dude in what's happening okay yes so um earlier this year i
