00:00There was a little tension on the set of the UK edition of Celebrity Big Brother recently
00:09when transgender journalist India Willoughby asked singer Ginuwine if he'd date a transgender.
00:15Ginuwine response, quote, I believe it's your choice and I would choose not to.
00:19Well, that didn't go over well with Miss India.
00:21She then tried to kiss Ginuwine and he backed up and said no.
00:25India later stormed off set, which sparked lots of conversations with the housemates
00:29and social media.
00:30Kaylee Fox tweeted, India needs to be booted.
00:33She's trying to make out that housemates are transphobic.
00:36Poor Ginuwine looks so uncomfortable with her behavior and reaction.

02:07And if he knew she was trans prior to her asking, or if he didn't know, I think that in the same way you said, if somebody random, male, female, tried to kiss him,
02:18I think that part of the issue is that Ginuwine sings about such sexual content.
02:23And so everyone always assumes that because he's made his lifestyle and his brand out of this, it automatically assumes that he's some hypersexual being.
02:32And that couldn't be the case at all.
02:33He could just be not and have a desire to kiss a woman who was born a woman or has made it her lifestyle to live as a trans individual.
02:43And that's okay.
02:44I think that we also have a lot of navigation still to do as a culture and as a society on treating trans people with the respect that they deserve.
02:54And so perhaps the situation should have been more of an educational moment rather than a shameful one.

03:02I don't think it's fair to cite, I agree, but I don't think it's fair to cite Ginuwine's work or his, like, just because he made the pony doesn't mean he wants to ride the pony.
03:10Like, it's unfair to point these things out and say that, oh, because he sings of such a sexual nature, like, that's targeting.
03:18And, like, just because he dresses that way and wears the shirts with the deep v-neck doesn't mean that he's asking to be sexually harassed by this trans individual.
03:27And I think this toxic trans masculinity is, it's really unfortunate and it's going to tear apart the R&B world and the Big Brother house, wherever they are.
03:35And I just, I feel for Ginuwine. I think, je suis Ginuwine.
