00:00If you like Love & Hip Hop, you'll like Blurred Lines because it's got that same juicy storytelling with twists and turns and it's set in the world of hip hop and it's about strong women pursuing their love of the men in their lives, the money that they want to make and the music.
00:30This story I made up, not the stuff on Love & Hip Hop. Before I became the executive producer of Love & Hip Hop, I was actually a music manager. I co-founded a company called Violator Management and we managed everyone from Busta Rhymes to Ella Cool J, 50 Cent to Tri-Paul Quest, Mobb Deep, Fantasia, Mariah Carey. Oh, the list goes on and on. I still to this day manage Missy Elliott.
00:55Two moments in my professional career that I will never forget are the day that I decided to leave Violator Management and start Monami Entertainment and the moment that I realized Monami Entertainment was here to stay.
01:11For now, those are the high notes of my career. Before I began my career in entertainment, I wish someone would have told me that I had what it took, that I was good enough and that it was going to be okay.
01:27Two things black women do better than anyone else. We are rock stars every single day and every single way and everything we do.
01:35Can't limit it. If you miss me on the empowerment stage at Essence Festival, you'll be missing out on an opportunity to hear me talk about what my life's path has been and hopefully in the process of me sharing those experiences, maybe it'll inspire something in your journey.
