00:01What up, you guys?
00:02We are here at the Essence Festival at the Ford Super Lounge.
00:06And when I tell you the energy in here is crazy.
00:08Super crazy.
00:09So, Seven, you mentioned this is not your first time at Essence Fest.
00:12It is not.
00:13So you've been here back to back.
00:15I have.
00:16So tell us how it's been performing at the Ford Super Lounge.
00:19Well, I have to say I'm a little jealous because I miss it so much.
00:23The energy up there is always so crazy.
00:26It really is one of my favorite places to perform because literally my fans are right there.
00:33I talk to them all throughout the show.
00:35We have incredible conversations.
00:37I can see them cry.
00:38I can see them laugh.
00:39I feel like I can reach out and touch them.
00:41So I love it so much, so much.
00:44Will you say it's the highlight of your Essence Fest?
00:47Oh, the highlight of every year that I come or this year?
00:51Well, let's say this year.
00:52Unfortunately, you're not performing.
00:53I'm not.
00:54But you get to hang with me here.
00:55I do.
00:56Backstage.
00:57Yes.
00:58Interviewing this year's performers.
00:59Yes.
01:00That definitely is a highlight for me.
01:02And it's really cool to see it from the other side.
01:04Like, every year I'm performing, so I'm like, I'm in a whole other mind state.
01:07And so to be able to be here and to go and catch the shows and catch the shows in the Superdome
01:12and catch the shows at the Super Lounge and kind of just be a fan.
01:15Yes.
01:16I told my manager last night.
01:17I was like, oh, my God.
01:18I got it before, but I get it even more now why people come to the Essence Fest.
01:23It's amazing.
01:24I'm excited.
01:25Well, I mentioned earlier, this is my first time here.
01:27Nice.
01:28I'm excited to be here with Ford.
01:29We're breaking her in.
01:30Yes.
01:31Thank you so much, Ford.
01:32It's definitely breaking me in.
01:33Yes.
01:34I'm excited to be here.
01:35Yes.
01:36I know.
01:37And this is going to be good.
01:38This is going to be so good.
01:39Make some noise for Ford and Essence.
01:43So I had the pleasure to introduce this really amazing band.
01:47Give it up for Saint Beauty.
01:49They're signed to Epic and Wonderland.
01:50Make some noise for Saint Beauty.
01:53Let's go, girls.
01:54He was getting way too comfortable.
01:59Now I'm taking back all my control.
02:02So this is your first time performing at the Ford Super Lounge.
02:05Yes.
02:06So tell us about that experience for you.
02:08It's amazing.
02:09So many beautiful black people.
02:10We love the vibes.
02:11The vibes are always beautiful.
02:13And they're wonderful.
02:14They love the show.
02:15And we're feeding off of their energy.
02:17You know, it was beautiful.
02:30I performed on this stage twice before.
02:32And I just love, it's very intimate.
02:34And that type of energy is completely different than a lot of other venues.
02:38How does that feel for you guys to be performing with the crowd?
02:41Like they're literally right there for you.
02:43I mean, it felt like home.
02:44Like when we were in Atlanta, you know, we started off doing shows in the basement.
02:48So it's like, it's a lot of fun doing it that way because people are just like up close.
02:52You just feel the energy more.
02:53And you don't feel like so much pressure.
02:55Yeah.
02:56So it just feels good.
02:57Thank you ladies so much.
02:58Thank you so, so, so much.
03:01They killed it.
03:02Fresh off of the Super Lounge Ford stage, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
03:06How are you guys feeling?
03:07Excited and happy, energized.
03:09Man, that was such a great performance.
03:11Like it was really amazing.
03:12But for the people who didn't get to see it, let them know what they can expect, you know,
03:16when they come to see the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
03:19The band's been around for over 50 years.
03:22And we're, you know, part of the New Orleans Jazz community.
03:28So a lot of our music dates back to the origins of the birth of jazz.
03:32And, you know, it's the past, present and future of our music.
03:35Nice.
03:36Yeah.
03:37Awesome.
03:38We want to thank you so much for joining us.
03:39We know the night is still early.
03:40Yes.
03:41So there's still more music, food.
03:43You said your daughter's here.
03:44Yeah.
