Blair voices the recurring role of Makuu the crocodile in ‘The Lion Guard'
Transcript
00:01The Lion Guard came about through, you know, just an imitation from Disney.
00:05You know, they told me it was kind of like the next part of this ongoing saga,
00:08Simba and his family.
00:10Because it's part of that legacy of The Lion King, of course I jumped at it.
00:14Hippos always obeying the rules.
00:18McCoo, all you have to do is ask.
00:22I'll keep that in mind.
00:24And, you know, my kids are still young enough where they say,
00:26they look there and say, oh, that's cool. Dad's part of The Lion King.
00:29Accept or surrender your leadership.
00:32My character's name is Maku in the Swahili for arrogant.
00:36He's a villain in the story. He's the head of the crocodiles.
00:40In his mind, everything and everyone is beneath and below him.
00:44I need you and the crocs to leave.
00:47What's great about this Lion Guard is that it's targeted and geared towards a very young audience.
00:53And it's great for us as parents, who were around 21 years ago,
00:57to introduce this incredible story to a much younger generation.
01:03Don't forget, Kion. Your father had to fight Scar to regain leadership of the Pride Lands.
01:08I think McCoo's just looking to pick a fight.
01:10It really is consistent with the story of Simba and The Lion King.
01:14And it really is about family. It is about culture. It is about legacy.
01:18Congratulations, McCoo. You are now the leader of the crocodiles.
01:23The bar and the level of excellence that Disney continues to exhibit through this Lion King story, it's phenomenal.
01:31First take was it. Spot on. Fantastic.
