00:00Now that New York City is closing Rikers Island, the city's public advocate has suggested that
00:08the island be renamed for Kalief Browder. Kalief is the 22-year-old who committed suicide after
00:14spending three years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Kalief's brother, Akeem,
00:18said he's flattered by the idea of renaming Rikers for Kalief, but would rather give the
00:23victory to, quote, the people. He told the New York Daily News, maybe people will look at Kalief
00:28Island if they want to dub it that and remember the tragedy that my brother went through. So
00:33what do you think? Have you seen the Kalief Browder story? And did it change the way you view
00:38incarceration? Let us know in the comments.
