00:36aside above a size 12 cannot go in that store and touch and feel and try on the clothing like every
00:42other woman can I think it's really really ridiculous and then they wonder why what they're
00:50going bankrupt it's because you're not catering to a hundred million plus women right here in the
00:56United States it made brands and designers wake up and say what are you guys doing who are you
01:03designing for if you're leaving out over a hundred million women I don't know who made these rules but
01:09every woman should have access to beautiful clothing it doesn't matter what size you are
01:14well brands are taking big leaps forward whether it's in size age and also with race from the retail
01:25end from showrooms and fashion production you have brands that have been around a very long time and
01:30then you have the new brands and a lot of indie designers and what I notice is that they're really
01:35listening to their customers that's when you can tell that they're serious about what they're doing
01:40in this new social media age people are using
02:10their voice as like their personal pulpit as we see with black Twitter right how we can get things
02:18changed so imagine when we start to really speak and say I love the work that you're doing as a designer
02:23but can you show it on a body that looks like me the brands that are really trying to connect are the
02:29ones that are really listening huge big deal when women are shopping for their special day well there's
02:36your prom you're looking for a business suit how am I gonna find a wedding dress they don't carry my
02:42size but because they can go on social media and click on this hashtag they're able to find different
02:48brands and companies that cater to them for their special day that's where we have to step up and put our
02:56money where our mouth is what I would tell someone who was feeling conscious about their weight but
03:06wanted to get into plus size model modeling is one of those things you are constantly picked apart to a
03:14certain degree so I would say first of all build up your confidence within yourself before you try to
03:20find your confidence within modeling also stand in the power of who you are you have to be able to look
03:26in the mirror and accept every inch of yourself just be your best fit healthy plus size self look good feel
03:35good and exude all that great energy and that's going to be your game-changer when you start to
03:41accept who you are other people start to accept who you are plus size is beautiful plus size can be
03:47healthy plus size can move and dance as you see with like Lizzo the first thing you have to overcome is
03:55worrying about what other people think of you because you'll never please everyone there will
03:59always be a naysayer but you have to love you first
