Taraji P. Henson returned to her hometown of Washington D.C. this weekend for an important cause – to help increase mental health awareness and resources for Black youth.

00:00It breaks my heart to know that five-year-old children are contemplating death.
00:05We're expecting these children to come from traumatic experiences at home.
00:14We're expecting them to go to school and learn, and it's just not fair.
00:18I'm here using my celebrity, using my voice, to put a face to this.
00:26Because I also suffer from depression and anxiety.
00:31And if you're a human living in today's world, I don't know how you're not suffering in any way.
00:37I mean, if you turn on the news, that's PTSD right there.
00:40And we have to turn this ball around or we're going to lose humanity.
