00:01I'm trying so hard! I'm trying so hard!
00:06Alright, okay.
00:13It was so wonderful when Essence started that kind of celebration and recognition of black women, you know, in entertainment.
00:21And so I'm so inspired by the people who are honored and who are celebrated and so to be asked to be a part of that, it feels amazing.
00:31You know, it's quite an honor as a black woman to be recognized and celebrated by other black women.
00:40It's exciting to be able to say that you've been in a business for 20 years.
00:44And not only that you're able to still do it, but you still love it.
00:48And I think that's what I'm so happy about, that I still really love what I do.
00:52I still get to learn.
00:54I get to, like, play with my friends.
01:00You know, I think any time you get to be able to thrive and be excited by what you do,
01:06and I think, you know, as women and as black women in particular, you know,
01:11we do everything with such passion and such conviction.
01:14We honor it, you know, and so it feels amazing.
01:17You know, most of the time.
01:18Some days, some days, I'm like, where are my sweatpants?
01:28I mean, I think success is just, you know, it's finding gratitude and joy in what you do.
01:32You know what I mean?
01:33Because you can have quote unquote everything and you can still be miserable.
01:36I go, am I serving my purpose?
01:41Am I serving God's purpose?
01:43If I feel like I do, even a portion of that, that to me is success.
01:48Because at least I'm aiming for an ideal that's bigger than a moment.
01:53So, you're going to have a break in the morning.
01:58Girl.
01:59Girl, don't even say it out loud.
02:02I can't say it out loud.
02:03I can't say it out loud.
02:04But I do.
02:05I have another birthday.
02:06And it's like, when the option is that or death, you've got to be excited.
02:09You know what I mean?
02:1020-year-old me versus, you know, 40-something-year-old me is so different.
02:18And yet not.
02:19You know, that's the odd thing about time is you still feel, there's that piece of you
02:25that still feels like a little girl, like the time doesn't shift.
02:28It's just, there's some wisdom that comes to her.
02:31And there's some thoughtfulness and there's some balance and honesty.
02:36And there's some humility, you know?
02:39I mean, humility is deep when you grow.
02:44But then, you know, there's a part of me that still feels like, I'm like, I don't feel
02:48my age, you know what I mean?
02:49I feel, I don't know, whatever that spirit is that feels like Regina, that feels timeless.
