00:00In terms of your privacy, you strike me as someone that's very private.
00:05But sometimes as a celebrity, what you go through or what happens, good or bad, has to be public.
00:10Oh, yeah.
00:10Especially on reality TV.
00:11But you managed to say, okay, you can get this, but you don't get that.
00:15Period.
00:15Like I read that you didn't want your divorce to be a plot line on the reality show.
00:19I did not at all.
00:20And you were adamant about that?
00:21I was very adamant.
00:22I mean, doesn't mean everybody listened, but I was very adamant because not once.
00:28It was also why I was pretty reluctant about putting anything out at first.
00:34And then I said, you know, I won't let my personal life hold up the music of any sorts, but I never want people to merge the two.
00:42See, I'm highly offended with even the thought that maybe it is for storyline or something of that nature.
00:48That's not how I roll.
00:49That's never been the case.
00:51And none of the records that I've been blessed enough to say were hit records were based upon anything that was happening other than the music being solid.
00:58And I never wanted those two things to start merging themselves together.
01:03Plus, I have three children that deserve a certain level of privacy, even though they're on television.
01:08I give them choice.
01:10You know, sometimes you'll see my daughter more than you'll see my sons because if they want to just play football and my oldest likes to focus on his production, I don't force them on television.
01:19I don't force them into things.
01:21They have choice in that, you know, because they don't necessarily want to be me.
01:25That's cool.
01:26I enjoy that.
01:27So, you know, I was a bit taken aback.
01:31You know, when it came to being on reality TV, I still felt like there was a commitment that I did make.
01:37And I'm not ashamed of what's happening in my life.
01:40I just think because I have still such a love and respect, even for Shannon, that there are certain things that are just not up for discussion.
01:49Right.
01:50You don't have to be together to respect one another.
01:52Exactly.
01:52You don't have to be together to uplift one another and make sure that my kids always see that mom is looking forward to you having a relationship forever and ever and ever.
02:02And anything I can do to be, you know, to really assist in making sure that it continues to be that everything that it's always been, that's what I'm going to do.
02:09But that's not enough sensationalism for a lot of places.
02:14You know, they want something else.
02:17They want the drama.
02:17They want the drama.
02:18Now, luckily, my team, those these women are really my friends.
02:23And that wasn't the goal on the television show.
02:27You know, you saw moments where I had a few conversations with them, but never in depth.
02:32Right.
02:32You know, I just always want them to know that I'm here for them.
02:36They let me know that they're there for me.
02:38But, you know, it was one of those things that was out of my control.
02:42You know, I was like, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
02:49You
