00:00hack one this may sound really basic but you really want to declump your mascara wand before
00:12you put it on because usually there's a lot of excess and nobody likes clumps anyway so what
00:15i do is i take a clean paper towel and just wipe off the excess before i apply my mascara
00:21hack two start from the root you gotta fight for these lashes don't just start up here if you start
00:27from the root and brush the mascara all the way through you're gonna have a better chance of
00:33getting the product throughout your lashes hack three use the same hand as the eye you know for
00:39people that are not professionals this is a better way to go so this is my left hand and this is my
00:45left eye hack four if you're really into plumping your mascara and you don't happen to have a volumizer
00:51you can take some translucent powder and a fluffy shadow brush just sort of tap off the excess
00:56and just swipe the powder over your lashes in between applications so you know i've already
01:02applied a coat of mascara on my lashes so i just have this quick little sweep the powder and the
01:10mascara work together to give you more voluminous lashes make sure that you brush your lashes both on
01:18the outside as well as the inside so you really move that powder through hack five you put on your
01:26favorite mascara but you want to make sure it doesn't move all day long one trick you can do is
01:29apply a waterproof mascara over top of your favorite mascara and this particular waterproof mascara also
01:36happens to have a bent wand which really makes for easy application i'm gonna call that hack six you
01:43can actually bend your mascara wand or if you want you can get those little a pack of wands from the
01:49beauty supply store and bend them just to make it easier for you to maneuver hack seven if you've
01:54overdone it with the mascara you see clumps and bumps and just stuff all over the place take a clean
01:59spoolie and just move it through to just remove and separate you can also take a clean toothbrush which
02:06will actually do the same thing so if you just want to buy a cheap little kids toothbrush from the
02:11store and have that at the ready hack eight don't forget your lower lashes get in there again start with
02:17the roots go ahead and do it horizontally and then vertically sort of sweep side to side gives you a nice
02:24little liner finish as well hack nine if your eyebrows happen to be the same color as your mascara that you
02:30can also just take a really quick light swipe just to give your brows a little definition and I would do
02:36this when the mascara is practically off of the wand this is after you've taken care of business and I'll just
02:40give you a nice defined framed look hack ten more declumping if you happen to have left your favorite
02:49mascara open all weekend that's a bummer so what you can do is you can take some hot water let your
02:54mascara sit inside of the hot water close for a few minutes and that actually helps to like get the
02:59formulation going again and take some of the clumpiness out of it that's one thing you can do
03:03another thing you can do is you can take some re-wetting drops or saline you can put about ten drops
03:09into your mascara and that also will revive the formula and what you do is after you apply those
03:15drops you just close your mascara up and give it a good shake and this is a really great way to bring
03:20your mascara back to life if you did leave the top off this needs to be re-wetting drops or saline
03:25solution not drops for redness okay let's keep this safe for your eyes but I will say this is good if you
03:31just left the top off but if your mascara is more than four months old it's time to get rid of it
03:35because they really do get old after that that's it
