00:00My name is Nnamdi Wanari and I am a practicing attorney and the name of our
00:12business is Meet Me DC. So what should I get? The most popular sandwich is the
00:18Joey Melt. It's our ground beef brisket with caramelized onions and American
00:22cheese. You had me a brisket. Both of my parents they're in the medical field but
00:26they always had businesses outside of their profession. So growing up I saw
00:31that and I always wanted to do that. Living two dreams at once is pretty
00:36incredible. The best thing is when somebody buys a sandwich, they eat it,
00:41and then they come back to the truck five minutes later saying how good it is.
00:43I feel like I need to tell our readers that there's eye candy on the truck. So this is the first ever
00:49sloppy joe food truck. From what we know of. Okay. So would you say that your sandwiches sort of
00:53connect your customers to their childhood memory? They definitely do. A lot of our
00:57customers tell us that they haven't had a sloppy joe since their mom made it.
01:01Sometimes the pressure's on because they want to compare our sloppy joes to their
01:04moms and I could say so far we're undefeated. Undefeated. Us versus mom
01:09category. One time somebody actually tried to call their mom. Shut up. But they
01:13weren't able to reach them. So what does food mean to you personally? Food is a
01:17it's a connector. I'm Nigerian ancestry so we have our food elements. Business
01:22partner Naeem Moses. He's from the Carolinas so that southern cuisine is
01:27infused. So we try to kind of immerse the different cultures and bring people
01:31together. And I love the brotherhood aspect of your story. So tell me how two
01:35college besties end up in business together with a food truck. We met in law
01:39school actually and after being practicing attorneys that sloppy joe idea came to
01:45light. Of course he wanted to be involved. And then we planned for about 18
01:48months. And then once I moved three months later we had a truck we had
01:51everything. You're kind of winning at life right now. Capital W. Can I try one?
01:55Please. All right our most popular sandwich is the joey milk sandwich. American
02:00cheese. Caramelized onions. Ground beef brisket from a local butcher. Cover it
02:07up. Ready to serve. Here you are. Thank you thank you thank you. It's the biggest thing I've had to
02:14eat on camera. There's no cute way to do this guys. Forgive me. I'm about to take my
02:19first bite of this. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm sorry. I'm about to take my first bite.
02:24Are you ready? Oh my god. It's amazing. Cut the camera so I can like demolish this
02:32please. There's more to be done. We're not done. We're looking for expansion
02:39opportunities as well. A brick and mortar that's definitely on our radar. So
02:42hopefully that will be in the near future.
