00:00Now I'm sure all of you heard about our last story, Doug, Laughing While Black, about the
00:07Black Women's Book Club members who got kicked off of a wine tour train for laughing and being
00:11too loud. Well, they have received a public apology from the company as well as the company
00:16promising to have better sensitivity training for their staff. So, is this a slay? They responded
00:21to the women's complaints, issued an apology, and took the necessary steps to decrease the
00:26chances of something like this happening again? Or is it shade? It's too little, too late.
00:30What the women went through was completely unacceptable, and the company should never have called the
00:34police to have them physically removed from the train in the first place. All right, I'm
00:38really interested in seeing what you have to say about this one. On the count of three,
00:41slay or shade? One, two, three. Oh, we have a slay, a slay. There's always one in the middle.
00:47There's always one. She has a slay. A slay is happening. Okay, so Sean, I'm going to start
00:51with you. Why is this a slay? I think it's a slay because they made the right decision in,
00:55you know, speaking out and saying they were really sorry. Where I think it's semi-shade
00:59is that, like, sensitivity training to what? To, like, black people having fun, right? Like,
01:04what are you, what are you? Or sometimes people drinking too much wine on a drink.
01:07But what sensitivity training? I mean, it seemed a little bit ridiculous, and it, and, you know,
01:10the fact is, is because this blew up on social media, and because black Twitter and, like,
01:15really came after this company, that's why they're putting this out. I don't think that they
01:19would have, they're really that sorry. It's just like, oh my god, I want you to come back. Don't,
01:22we don't want to lose the business. But slay in doing the right PR and sort of, you know,
01:28putting down the fires, if you will. Okay. Dina? Yeah, I mean, I totally agree. I mean,
01:33I think they saw a problem. They were working out there, and they were like, hey, you know what?
01:37We're sorry. I mean, I don't know if I agree with, like, the whole, like, giving them a gift card
01:40to come back. Right. I don't think I'll be coming back. But, I mean, you, you, you saw the problem,
01:45and you solved it. Mm-hmm. All right, Miss Slashade, why are you on the fence here? I'm
01:50Slashady about it. One, because I'm a big fan of wine and trains, and, you know, I, I don't want
01:55anybody to take either of them away from me. But, it's kind of a tough call, because you don't know
02:01how many times it happened with other people that maybe didn't hit the Twitterverse, that maybe were
02:06other ethnicities, that it didn't make news. I don't, I don't know if there's a beer train that there
02:10were some white guys on, that they got really loud and obnoxious, and they were asked to
02:14leave. Mm-hmm. I, I feel like it was a little far to begin with going to the police, which
02:20is why I think it's a bit of a slay, going that far, pulling it back, and saying, we are
02:24publicly apologizing. Because people get drunk, and people get loud. Right. You don't always
02:30have to make such a brouhaha about it, calling the cops, and forcibly removing them. They didn't,
02:35they didn't attack someone else on the train, or, and they were older ladies. You know, like,
02:39you know how this goes? You brought a wine spot. Right, right. Like, what, what, this
02:43is not, it's happened before. Exactly, this is wine. I got wine on the move. Exactly. Two
02:48glasses of wine, I'm up two optics. Done. Instantly. Exactly. So, uh, uh, uh, no, just listen
02:53to me. But she wants to come back and have wine on her. Why not? So that's why you're
02:59on a sliche. Yeah, I'm on a sliche on it.
