00:00Y'all are hanging out with your friends and it's a mixed group and then there's an awkward
00:07moment where there's a rap song that comes on and they sing the n-word. What do you do?
00:12Oh, I don't think that that's right. I feel like, because I know that I'm pretty sure that white
00:19people at home in their own room, they say the n-word. They do. Very loud, all day, every day.
00:24You're reliving. Sit, Lokey. But in front of me, do not say it.
00:28Because I think that's disrespectful. And knowing the history of it, I mean, I'm the type of person,
00:34I don't think anyone should say it around me. I don't think a black person or a white person should
00:37say it because I feel like, especially a black person saying it in front of another white person,
00:41they think it's okay. And they think, oh, we're cool like that. So, hey, what's up?
00:45But what about when Kanye and Schoolboy Q and everyone, they're like, all right, if we're at the show,
00:49you purchased my album, you clearly like it because you're here. It's okay for you to say it.
00:55I mean, it doesn't give them the right to say it. It doesn't give them the right.
00:58They are. They are. They are. They are okay with saying it and knowing that their white fans are
01:03going to say it. I do agree with that. Even at the shows. And we're at the shows. I mean,
01:08I'm not going to police every white person that says the word that says the n-word. And I get
01:12what they're saying in the context of their saying. If they're not addressing someone like that,
01:15then I really have no issue with it. But if you're at a show, be mindful that it's not just a white
01:21audience. It's a mixed audience. So if someone hears it, not to say they have a right to,
01:26but if you get punched in your face, there's a reason why you got punched in your face.
01:31Like you joke.
01:32Just like you got punched in your face for saying it.
01:34Well, we've all been at the club when Gold Digger comes on. And what are you supposed to do?
01:39They're not playing the edited version.
01:41And they're not playing the edited version.
01:43I'm not here to police them.
01:44But you know, the white girl's right here, and she's drunk, and the white boy's right
01:50here, and he's drunk. And you're with your mixed group of friends.
01:53And they're like, she ain't messing with no bro.
01:56And then they look at you.
01:59And you're like, get down.
02:03If you're mad, and in your feelings, what are you supposed to do?
02:11If you're a good friend, drunk or not, you pull them to the side and say, listen, me personally,
02:17I'm not going to hit you. I'm not going to do nothing. But I'm not always going to be
02:20around you. I'm not going to go to every club you go to.
02:22And every person's not going to have this.
02:24You can become a statistic, sir.
02:26Be very mindful of how you say it, when you say it, and where you say it.
02:28Why can't we hold these rappers to task for also making it so melodic to say that word
02:34and so catchy?
02:35They're going to say, I have the creative license to do so.
02:37Everybody has their freedom of speech.
02:39But then don't get mad when you're treated that way.
02:42That's fair enough.
