00:00A little film that was, you know, Oscar nominating, won an award, a little something-something called Hustle and Flow, It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp, you know, that kind of situation. Y'all are now dominating TV. How does that feel? Do you guys ever get together and talk about it or have y'all had a chance to talk about it?
00:19We haven't had a chance to really rap about it, you know, since the success of Black-ish and now the success of Empire. But it feels great. You know, those are my friends over there. You know, I've known Lee Daniels for years. Terrence and I go back 20 years. Taraji and I go back even further.
00:39We went to Howard University. He was also in Hustle and Flow. Yeah, we went to Howard University together. So these are, this is family out here. So, you know, people, you know, are up in arms like, why did they put you guys against one of us? I was like, well, that's not what happened and that's not how we see it.
00:55Right. You know, we see it as an opportunity for people of color to be on network television and tell our stories and we just happen to get in where we fit in and that's where it is. There's room for both shows.
01:09There's room, there's room for all of these stories to be told. So I'm excited that that is our problem.
01:15Exactly. It's not a bad problem to have. I'm excited to have that problem amongst us now.
