00:00Well, spring is here, and it is the perfect time to change your hairstyle.

00:08I don't know if you've seen it, but everywhere, from Instagram to red carpet, social media,
00:15everywhere, everyone is wearing colored hair.
00:18Yeah, I mean, you know, colored hair, pastel colors, they're really, really big this season.
00:23I mean, they've been big for a while now, but because the weather's getting warmer,
00:26people are getting more creative, the outfits are getting skimpier.
00:29People really want to play up their hair color.
00:31I noticed on Instagram that Jordan Dunn colored her hair at Coachella.
00:36She did.
00:37Perfect, it was purple, gray, black, it seemed just like a hodgepodge of colors.
00:43Jordan really killed this look.
00:46I mean, she executed it perfectly.
00:48When you have pastel colored hair, you want to kind of keep your outfit to a minimal with the colors.
00:52You want to keep it monochromatic, you can even mix metals and metallics in with it.
00:56Perfect, yes.
00:57And another key to when you decide you want to go with a lighter color for your hair, you always want to use products that are nourishing,
01:04that are really going to protect your hair from all the damage that's going to be done when you decide to go lighter.
01:08And also keeping your roots darker, kind of give it that easy laid back vibe.
01:12Another trend that's really popular is the pixie cut.
01:16You know, Kiki is so famous for this cut.
01:19Yes.
01:20Now, I have a question for you, and this is major.
01:23How do you maintain this look, especially in the spring, particularly the back area?
01:29Yes.
01:30How do we maintain this look?
01:31So, when you decide you want to go for a pixie and your hair is really short, you might want to consider a relaxer, just for maintenance purposes.
01:38You know, Kiki, you know, is my client and I work with her regularly, and so when she decided to cut her hair into a pixie,
01:44there was a lot of straightening that had to happen each and every time I worked with her because she was natural.
01:50And you don't want to add that much heat to your hair, so instead of, you know, kind of damaging it on the back end,
01:56you kind of just want to relax it to start.
01:58And to maintain it, you want to, you know, wet set it, wrap it, and sleep with it overnight.
02:04And then, you know, in the morning, kind of use a moisturizer to kind of add that layer of protection before you start heat styling it.
02:11And one thing that's funny about pixie cuts is that a lot of people just think that you can't change the look,
02:16but if you kind of curl it or change it up a little bit, it's perfect for an evening look.
02:21Listen, pixies are so versatile, like you can wear it all back or a deep side part really slick for an androgynous cool look,
02:29or you can go for a really flirty, curly, wavy look.
02:32With pixies, I always suggest you either use a half-inch curling iron or a half-inch flat iron.
02:39Perfect, perfect. Now our next look and final look is all about braids, braids, braids, braids, braids.
02:45They are also having a huge moment in the industry, from box braids to fishtail braids to crown braids.
02:52They're just having a moment.
02:54They are.
02:55Now, I want to know, how do you achieve that look if you're not a braid expert?
03:01I mean, braids are probably the oldest, most traditional way to wear your hair.
03:05And they're kind of the easiest once you really get to know.
03:08I mean, they have a lot to do with the dexterity of your fingers, so practice makes perfect.
03:12But you know, the messier the braid, the cooler it is.
03:15Right, right.
03:16So anyone can achieve the braided look.
