00:17models and today we're going to talk about wigs everyone loves a good wig and weave but how do
00:23you refresh your wig and weave after a crazy hot summer fall is coming up what can we do to kind
00:30of really make our wigs look better one things that I like to use is dry shampoo it gives it a
00:36little boost it takes the shininess of a wig that makes it look cheap and I hate that it's so shiny
00:42and just terrible especially a new wig it's good to take it and just spray it on it and brush it
00:46through okay and it makes it look normal okay more realistic how much dry shampoo should you use you
00:53shouldn't use that much I use like two or three sprays from six to 12 inches away okay and just
00:57a little bit just to knock off the shine and then brush it with a paddle brush nice nice tip what
01:02else I also like to clip the ends let's say you have an older wig from spring that you just kept
01:07wearing and kept wearing so the ends get a little fried so I like to give it a little cut or trim
01:12as I like to call it and it gives it a little boost as well because it especially if it's curly it bounces
01:17up the curls and it makes it look new now how much do you trim um I know a few stylists
01:23get carried away with scissors well since it's a wig you can trim as much as you want okay especially
01:28like the plastic or the synthetic wigs they tend to burn out or get a little frizzy so I like to do
01:33like an inch what's another way we can refresh another way is to add color pieces let's say you
01:39have a natural colored wig such as like like we like to call it 1b you can use browns and blondes and
01:47you can get very adventurous with your colors okay like how adventurous what do you think I
01:53wouldn't get too streaky like bright blondes with dark colors okay I would get maybe two or three
01:59shades from the natural tone so maybe if you're like a 1b maybe um some cool brown some auburns
02:05especially going into the fall I think that'd be perfect like reminiscent of the leaves or something
02:10you know what I mean very nice I love that what's a great way to shampoo and detangle a wig I like to
02:16use wig shampoo and wig conditioner um because it's something specially formulated whether it's
02:21um synthetic or human it brings it back to life if you wear a wig over and over it gets a little dull
02:27so the wig shampoo and wig conditioner definitely brings it back to life okay but it has to be
02:33specifically formulated for a wig or can you just use your regular sulfate free shampoo I would use a wig
02:39shampoo and conditioner unless if it's human hair then you can reuse a sulfate free but if it's
02:43synthetic I would use okay sounds good and anything else um you can also detangle to defrizz let's say
02:51you have a curly wig and you want to make it a little bit smoother more defined you can take your
02:55paddle brush and go through it toss it a couple of times and just smooth out the curls of the waves
02:59and it makes it look you know new now is it important to use a paddle brush for that I think so
03:04especially one that's formulated for wigs maybe has metal um prongs um something that's not going to
03:12kind of damage it or rip it apart so fast so yeah I would definitely use a paddle brush okay well
