00:00So you know when you're around an artist that you're like, this girl's gonna be around for a long time.
00:11We'll be talking about you for years to come. So welcome.
00:14Thank you. Thank you for having me. I'm very excited to be here.
00:18You're doing so much. Music, acting. What's up? What's next for you?
00:22What's next for me? Oh, man. I mean, I'm a busy girl, you know what I mean?
00:26I like on my plate, but, you know, I have my Disney show that I'm doing that I'm also producing on.
00:30So, you know, that's that's a double whammy because I'm, you know, in front of the camera, behind the camera.
00:34But I'm learning so much and also just being in the studio.
00:37You know, I don't mind taking the time and perfecting the music and making it sound the way I want.
00:43Then instead of just like rushing into something and putting something I'm not happy with.
00:47And, you know, tonight we're celebrating Jill Scott, whom I know you love.
00:51Can you think of any Jill Scott's songs that you your top maybe top two or three?
00:56Oh, well, there's one that actually there was a remake on Glee, Hate On Me.
01:05And that is my power song because it's just like when the haters are hating you like hate on me haters now or later.
01:13OK, it's just she has those kind of that, you know, that that presence.
01:18And I feel like that, I don't know, she just has that soul about her.
01:20And I think that she's very empowering, you know, to women, to men, you know, to everyone.
01:24So I love her.
01:25I love it.
01:26So now, you know, we're here also celebrating black women in music.
01:29Who do you think are the most influential black women in the last 45 years in music?
01:34In music?
01:35In music?
01:36Oh, well, there's a very, very long list.
01:39I would say one of them is always going to be Beyonce because she's Beyonce and she constantly kills the game.
01:45And I'm like, I'm a diehard Beyonce fan, so that's always going to be my answer for everything.
01:50What else?
01:51I mean, there's been so many.
01:53I love seeing young, new artists that are coming up, even the ones that aren't known yet
01:58or the ones that I just hear about from my friends or whatever.
02:01Like, I don't know, I just, you know, especially for women, it's so hard for us to be happy for each other
02:07and to kind of be on each other's side.
02:09So I really, you know, like, I'm really proud of all young women, like, that are doing their thing and out here.
02:14And, you know, it's not an easy industry to be in, especially not when you're a girl, especially not when you're of color.
02:19So I'm down.
02:21Well, guess whose side we're always going to be on?
02:24Whose?
02:25Yours.
02:26Aww.
02:27Thank you so much, Zendaya.
02:28It was nice having you.
