00:00In my professional career, it's the first time I've seen such a wealth of product, a diversity of product.
00:12The quality is just as high as the quantity, which is always really nice.
00:16It doesn't always happen like that.
00:18You know what? I feel that this is just another wave.
00:21It happens in waves. Apparently about 20 years ago, the same thing kind of happened.
00:25So just one thing will break the dam and I'm very, very happy that the dam broke and so many people are getting an opportunity to tell their stories
00:31because there's so much room for everybody's story. That's why I wanted to do this.
00:34That's why I wanted to celebrate all of us and have us all here breaking bread together. I'm super excited about it.
00:40I think it's a sea of change, but I am in a very cautionary state about it.
00:45We've seen these kind of changes before. We've seen these blips before.
00:49I think that it is now, it behooves us to make sure that it is not just a peak that then leads to a trough.
00:58And I think the way to do that, how we've got here, is us choosing to make and tell our own stories.
01:05To me, we're never a trend. We ain't going nowhere.
01:08Our stories aren't going anywhere. Our faces aren't going anywhere.
01:13We are a part of the fabric of this American culture and that is not a trend.
01:19So hopefully people will wake up and really realize that our stories are stories that need to be told.
01:25And our faces are faces that need to be seen just like every other face.
01:29Obviously, in front of the camera, talent will always be there and evolving.
01:35But I think what's so exciting now is the behind the camera.
01:38The new directors coming out, new young producers and especially new young screenwriters.
01:43I'd like to see more owners of film, more owners of studios, more owners of their own product.
01:48So that they can not only have a legacy for themselves and choose and choices,
01:53but things that will go on for years and years and years for their family and hand it down generation to generation.
01:59I'd like to see more owners of the next generation.
