00:00Can I tell you? People love me and Jamie together. I guess we formed this bond years ago and people are excited to see us together for the movie White House Down. They're excited just to know that we're working together, we're still friends. I mean whenever people see me they're like where's Jamie Foxx? I'm like we're not tied to the hip. He has his life. But it's really it's exciting. I love him to death and we're like brother and sister so it's really cool.
00:29So we got on set. He was cracking jokes and for a minute I had an outer body experience because I felt like time hadn't passed. It felt like we were you know on the set of the Jamie Foxx show doing it. It was really pretty amazing.
00:42Well first of all she was great inspiration for me. I think Michelle is just classy, intelligent, strong and I tried to work out my arms but I didn't have much time. She must really work out them a lot.
00:56But yeah it was definitely my inspiration you know to be a strong First Lady.
01:03My book series it's called the I Am series because we're going to do a few of them and the first one being I Am Mixed is I felt like for me and my kids we would go to bookstores all the time, libraries and we never could find a book that they could relate to or that they could see themselves in.
01:18And I would have people stop me all the time saying you have mixed kids, do you know of any mixed books? So I took it upon myself and found a writing partner Sebastian A. Jones and we created this wonderful world from a kid's point of view that speaks about celebrating who you are no matter what race, no matter what mix you are but in a child you know point of view. So in a fun way.
01:40Being a mom is really important to me it's my most important job ever but at the same time I still need to do me and still be creative so in a way I kind of married the two and the boys helped me too when I was creating the characters and the look and you know clothing.
01:58I got to be involved in every step of the way which is why I didn't go with a big publishing company because I felt like if I did I would lose some control and this way I had a lot of say in everything so it was really amazing and I got really I got Halle Berry to write the forward on the book which was amazing and I've had really great reviews from you know other celebrities Heidi Klum and Laura Ling and Lisa Ling just you know it's really been supported so that means the world to me.
