00:00I think jazz is powerful because it can accommodate many different things.
00:28You can have jazz that has influences from all types of music, and social music takes
00:34that concept even further to, I think, what represents our generation is such integration
00:41of everything.
00:42Because we having a good old time with the swing, oh yeah, now let me hear you blow your saxophone.
01:06We all went to Juneau, and that's kind of where we would congregate and plan our takeover
01:15of the world through playing in the subway.
01:19Oh yeah.
01:21Never asking for money, just bringing music to people.
01:25The whole concept of social music is just about bringing the music to people and bringing
01:29people together.
01:30Community.
01:31I say, hey, everybody, we love you out there, nah, nah, nah.
01:50I have a song that I wrote, it's entitled Kindergarten, and it's about always keeping in touch with
02:08that young, that innocence of not knowing if you can do something or not, but doing it
02:18anyway.
02:19Curiosity of that.
02:21And that, I think, coupled with my old soul creates a very unique kind of experience when
02:29I'm playing music.
02:30Everybody in the band has a unique kind of personality like that, whereas they're old,
02:36but they're young.
