00:00It's a very touchy subject, and it's only touchy because my words were misconstrued.
00:09I've had some controversial moments in my life, in my day, but anybody who knows me
00:19knows that if I don't respect anybody, I respect black women. My mother's a black woman, my
00:26sisters are black. I've only dated black women in my whole life.
00:30When I wrote on Twitter that we put the best that showed up to the audition in the video,
00:38that's what I said, and I won't retract or go back on that on any level.
00:44Of all of the women that ended up being picked for the video, we rolled with the sexiest,
00:50the most beautiful, the most attractive, the nicest bodies, the whole shebang.
00:54It wasn't race specific. People assuming that when I said I was going with the best,
01:00and they didn't see my whole video full of all black women, that they figured that I
01:08considered the best to be non-blacks for the video, which was not the case.
01:14I mean, I think black women in particular are very sensitive, some of the most sensitive beings
01:20on this earth. You know what I mean? I get it. And I can understand how it could rub
01:26black women in particular the wrong way for them to have something to appear that, oh,
01:32you consider the best to be Latinos, whites, and whatever else.
01:38And also, you know, African-American women are very frustrated with a lot of entertainers,
01:46especially prominent black African-American entertainers that go off to be huge in movies,
01:54singing, acting, making all of this money, and then they end up dating non-blacks.
02:00You know, and all of that stuff is touchy, so I get it.
02:04Not every movie I do is going to be for you.
02:08Not every song I sing is going to be considered your favorite song.
02:12I put out a hip-hop album when I was rapping as Black Tie.
02:16I became an MC, and I was rapping about things that I would never sing about.
02:22That album wasn't for everybody.
02:25When you come to work, your hairstyle might not be for everybody.
02:29What you're wearing that day, your choice of perfume or cologne might not be for everybody.
02:35So if you live your life within everybody's opinion of what you should do with your life,
02:41how you should go about doing whatever your interpretation of fun and, you know,
02:47these are my visions, my ideas.
02:49This is what song I want to sing.
02:51You're going to drive yourself crazy.
02:53Essence, baby.
02:54You know what I'm saying?
02:55Let's talk about it.
02:56I'm so happy to be here.
02:57You have no idea.
02:58And I hope, look, I really hope that y'all headline this interview was something controversial.
03:05He finally addresses the...
03:07Go ahead.
03:08Go ahead.
03:09Go ahead.
03:12Go ahead.
03:13Hey, all you Black women I did looking at this interview, say whatever you want to say.
03:17I love you.
03:18I love you, and I mean it.
03:20And I'm not here doing this interview trying to win your hearts back or win you over and get you to say,
03:26oh, okay, so maybe he do love us Black women.
03:29You're damn right I love y'all.
03:31Please believe.
