00:00Kori, my love.
00:02So lonely, so lonely.
00:04You know, I'm good over there, babe.
00:06I'm good, and I'm glad that we've been able to talk to each other through video,
00:13because I was feeling lonely that I was only hearing your voice,
00:15because I need your energy. I need your energy.
00:17I know, sister. Thank God for technology.
00:20We really get to connect, and everything is weird, right?
00:23I mean, everything we're celebrating is weird.
00:25In fact, Mother's Day is coming up, and I was just thinking,
00:27you're going to be celebrating Mother's Day in the house.
00:31I know.
00:31For the first time.
00:32I know.
00:33But, you know, I'm looking forward to it, because, you know, I'm with my family.
00:37I made a choice to come down to Florida to spend more time with my family
00:40in a different environment as we shelter in place.
00:43But I'm thinking about a lot of other moms,
00:45and one of our, I think, mutual favorite moms that we love.
00:50And actually, she's a new mommy, because she has a new baby,
00:53and she, too, will be celebrating at home with her lovely family,
00:57who could we be possibly talking about, Charlotte Penn?
01:00Our boo, Kandi Burrs, y'all.
01:02Friend to the show.
01:04Hey, Kandi!
01:05Hey! What's up, y'all?
01:07Welcome back to Yes, Girl!
01:09You know, I love hanging out with you.
01:11We had the most interesting conversations, okay?
01:14Yes, yes.
01:15And today shall be another one, y'all.
01:17Yes, we're ready.
01:18Kandi, so, like, this is your first Mother's Day
01:21with your new addition, Baby Blaze.
01:24It's cutie vibe, by the way.
01:25We're obsessed.
01:27How are you just adjusting to mommyhood, period,
01:31and all of this time in pandemic land?
01:33Like, what's good?
01:34It's crazy.
01:35Well, let me say, first off, I do love the fact
01:40that I get more time, you know, with my family.
01:43You know, y'all know that I'm, like, a workaholic,
01:45so, you know, I'm always on the go
01:47and jumping from city to city,
01:50and so to just be at home all the time
01:53is a good thing for me, you know what I mean?
01:56And then I don't even have to feel bad about it
01:58because nobody else that I work with
02:00can go anywhere either.
02:01It's true.
02:02But now it's like, okay, well,
02:04everybody's falling apart and we all okay.
02:06But the things that I don't know
02:10if I was prepared for is, like,
02:14now I have to teach school every day.
02:16Yes.
02:17Now I'm having to do cooking and the cleaning
02:21and, child, like, I'm not that domestic.
02:24Let me just say, I can cook.
02:26I can cook really good,
02:27but I don't like to cook every day.
02:30I like going out to eat.
02:31I'm seamless so much,
02:33and I know they want us to use
02:35the delivery services, you know,
02:37but I'm like, I just feel a little safer
02:39cooking my stuff at home right now.
02:40I'm tired.
02:41But, yo, I can't make past to you.
02:43I can't make that.
02:45I want to order it from the Thai restaurant.
02:47Listen, I'm about to start pulling it up online.
02:50My daughter done taught herself
02:51how to make orange chicken
02:52and all this, like, fresh...
02:54No, Raleigh to send me the recipe.
02:55Orange chicken.
02:56I said, well,
02:58you need to be cooking for everybody.
03:00No, that part.
