00:00When my team saw this Instagram post about a couple getting engaged during the pandemic, we knew we had to reach out.
00:07Bride-to-be Ayesha was shocked to learn that her quarantine date night was in fact a wedding proposal in the making.
00:14Ayesha, who is a PR manager at a bustling magazine in the city, and Kelton, an elementary school PE teacher, met eight years ago in college.
00:23They were introduced by friends and have been inseparable ever since.
00:27They love the same music, traveling, and have a passion for eclectic cuisines.
00:32This love story was meant to be, and now they're getting married in quarantine.
00:38Hi!
00:39I just want to get to know you guys a little bit more and try to make this day really magical and special.
00:47So tell me, how are you feeling about getting married?
00:51There's been like a full range of emotions.
00:53I think your ceremony has to be super poignant and super special.
00:57And if you're really close to your moms, I think if we can have them participate as part of the service.
01:02And what about flowers and stuff?
01:05I love the idea of kind of like the eucalyptus-y, you know, kind of greenery flowers.
01:12Okay.
01:12And what about the wedding cake?
01:14What flavor do you both like?
01:16You like tiramisu.
01:18Yeah, tiramisu is my absolute favorite.
01:20You like a spongy cake, you know, like a strawberry shortcake.
01:22And then obviously we should have some yummy champagne and bubblies.
01:26But it's an amazing celebration, and we should really craft it so it feels like the two of you.
01:32How do you make it feel special and feel like it's this milestone moment?
01:36I mean, the personalized vows are really nice, though.
01:39Sometimes, like, the groom writes his, the bride writes hers.
01:43And then on the part of the ceremony, that's the first time you hear it together.
01:47I haven't thought about the words, but just trying to think about how do I convey, you know, my emotions, these thoughts.
01:54You know, I love that your home is truly where your heart is.
01:57And I think it relates, it's relevant to you guys more than any other couple that I've ever talked to.
02:02You know, like the love at the home, the proposal at home, and potentially the wedding at home.
02:07It's just like, it's a special place.
02:09I really appreciate you definitely sharing these wonderful insights.

02:15People are going to look at this, they're like, yeah, we can do it, too.

02:41And, like, that's the whole point about life.
02:44And that's what I love doing when I do, causing these, creating these celebrations that you can always hold on to.
02:49So while it's different than what Aisha would have wanted originally,
02:53I think she's really embracing it, because we've done a lot of special, special touches that only reflect her.
02:59And you can only do this in this format, where it is virtual, but you can still bring people in.

12:25When you were thinking about this last night, staying up and preparing for this,
12:30how did it feel to you to be going forward with everything and all the challenges that we're all facing?
12:37To be honest, it felt like appropriate, I guess, you know, because, as we said, for us, we've been together for a while.
12:45But just this particular challenge that I mentioned in my vows kind of have really pushed us to appreciate each other even more and value life and value the people you're around, the people you have in your life.
12:59So, for me, it really kind of just rung on that, you know, it's really important to live in the moment, take advantage of things that are occurring now, and don't wait.
13:09You just don't know what tomorrow is like, what's promised for tomorrow.
13:14That is so true.
13:15You know what?
13:16We didn't see this coming, but here we are, and we're all trying to move forward.
