Jeneral Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman has been officially appointed as the 24th Armed Forces chief.

The appointment was officiated by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin at Wisma Pertahanan on Tuesday (Feb 3).

00:20The Armed Forces Intelligence and Defense Strategic Communication Division said Malik Razak's appointment

00:32and maintain institutional credibility amid an increasingly complex security environment.
00:39Malik Razak is tasked with setting a clear strategic direction, enforcing discipline,
00:43and fostering leadership accountability to restore trust and maintain the Armed Forces' professionalism and readiness.
00:50The promotion followed the recommendation of the 633rd Special Armed Forces Council meeting.
00:58Malik Razak began his military career in 1985 at the Royal Military College Sandhurst
01:04and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1987.
01:08He has served nearly four decades in various command and staff roles,
01:12most recently as the Army's Western Field Commander.
01:15Mohamed Khalid said Malik Razak's experience and leadership would strengthen the military's capabilities,
01:22professionalism, and public confidence.
