00:00I'm way too type A for this.
00:02Abby, it's OK.
00:03You're going to have to learn to trust me.
00:06Last time, puzzle cakes.
00:08You OK?
00:09Yeah.
00:10Leah and Kira, the way that you turned it into a puzzle,
00:12I'm so impressed.
00:13Leah and Kira took the top spot.
00:15Like this.
00:16Cameron, no, no, no, no, no, stop.
00:17Maybe this piece is to the wrong puzzle.
00:19Yeah.
00:20And Abby and Cameron said goodbye.
00:30What in the world?
00:34What the heck?
00:37It's so exciting to be halfway through the competition
00:39because it's like we're still in.
00:41And that's just a big relief for us.
00:44Sleepovers were like the best time of my childhood.
00:48The best.
00:49Like stand-up plays.
00:51Yes.
00:51And eating like all the junk you want.
00:53You don't stand.
00:54Yeah.
00:55Right?
00:55I'm ready.
00:56Sleepover time.
00:58I'm going to bed now.
00:59Oh.
01:00Good morning, bakers.
01:02Morning.
01:04I see that everybody has their sleep mask
01:07for our sleepover.
01:09Yeah.
01:10I have the sleep mask, and I just love it.
01:13I like the hot dog.
01:15So that's pretty good.
01:16When I was your age, I used to love having sleepovers.
01:19Yeah, same.
01:20And in my house, sleepover breakfast was the best.
01:23My mom would serve the most delicious stuff,
01:26like pancakes and buttermilk biscuits.
01:30Well, today you all are going to help Duff and I relive one of our favorite memories from childhood
01:37by creating sleepover breakfast impostors.
01:41Yeah!
01:42Yeah!
01:43Yeah!
01:44Yeah!
01:45Yeah!
01:46Yeah!
01:47I'm so excited, because you have to be very creative to do something like an impostor,
01:51because you want to make it look like, let's say, breakfast.
01:55But it has to taste like dessert.
01:58Yes!
01:59I love this challenge.
02:00Impostors are desserts that are disguised to look like savory foods.
02:05For example, a plate of avocado toast might really be pound cake with matcha frosting.
02:14Wait, Genesis and Akbar, what's going on? Y'all don't want to do imposters?
02:17No.
02:17No.
02:19They're hard.
02:19Each team's breakfast plate needs to have one main dish and two sides. The sides will be entirely up to you.
02:27Anything from faux fruit to sausages made out of mini eclairs.
02:32When the clock starts, stake your breakfast claim. Your main dish items are back in the pantry.
02:39It's hard, but it's going to be fun. And we have a sweet little prize for the winning team.
02:43Ooh.
02:46I'm super excited. And I'm glad we don't have to bake blindfolded.
02:51All right. We're giving you two and a half hours to bake us out.
02:55And elimination is on the line. And your time starts...
03:01Now!
03:01Go, go, go, go, go!
03:03Go, go, go, go, go!
03:09We got business and gravy!
03:10We got pancakes.
03:12We got pancakes!
03:14Okay. We got French toast. So what are we making?
03:17Maybe like a cake for the French toast. Instead of the toast, let's do like the dippers.
03:21Like the strips, because that's how I eat the French toast.
03:24Oh, yeah!
03:24Okay, we'll do that.
03:26I've dreamed of this day. My specialty is cake imposters. I love to make burgers. I love, like, love food imposters.
03:37I'm just going to add the whole thing. Melody, you okay?
03:39Okay, you do you.
03:41The judges are telling us to focus more on flavor. They said our decoration part is good.
03:45We just have to work on, like, what flavors go well together and, like, how to incorporate them.
03:50For the French toast, we're making a lemon pound cake and we're going to fry it.
03:55We're going to decorate with some fondant blueberries with coconut butter cream.
03:59And then for our two sides, we're going to make breakfast sausages using rice cereal treats and breakfast potatoes.
04:06I think the hardest part of this challenge is going to be the time and doing, like, so much imposters.
04:12Okay, Melody, I would hurry up.
04:14I can't make it faster.
04:16So, the challenge is we have to make breakfast food imposters and we got biscuits and gravy.
04:24I actually feel really good.
04:26This is the one thing that I really wanted because my dad loves biscuits and gravy.
04:31Like, every time we go somewhere for breakfast, he always gets biscuits and gravy.
04:36So, for our biscuits and gravy and pasta, we are making, for the biscuit, a lemon shortcake drop.
04:41We are going to top it with a vanilla bean diplomat cream country gravy.
04:46And for our sides, we're going to do twill bacon and a sugar cookie egg.
04:52A shortcake drop is, like, it's cake, but it doesn't look like cake.
04:57It's like taking a cake batter and making it like a cookie.
05:00I'll forge them into little balls.
05:01No, no, no, no, I mean, don't.
05:02It's fine.
05:02I need you to separate three more eggs and I need the egg whites.
05:05In this competition, I'm the little chef.
05:08So, I have to grab all the ingredients, make sure it's just right.
05:14All right, Kenneth.
05:16All right, you know what? Just, just, just, just know.
05:22Kenneth doesn't know what to do with himself without Abigail, like, bossing him around,
05:25telling him what to do.
05:27Why are they working for you?
05:29Because I've done this for five years longer than you have.
05:32Okay.
05:33What do you think is working well in your team?
05:35I feel like...
05:36The communication and then him understanding that what I say is probably right.
05:40I do.
05:41I agree and understand.
05:43Farm kids, holding their own.
05:46You guys are used to breakfast, right?
05:47I mean, you're on the farm.
05:48You are up before the sun comes up, right?
05:51Breakfast is essential.
05:52Are you?
05:53Well, what are you doing when you're getting up early, Kenneth?
05:56Working on robots.
05:58Working on robots?
05:58Yeah.
05:59Wait a minute.
06:00What?
06:00You build robots?
06:01Yes, I do.
06:02I have built a robot that I can control with a remote that spins around and shoots people's
06:08foam doors.
06:09I've also built a robot that when you turn it on, it just lays down dominoes in a perfect line.
06:15Interesting.
06:16Okay, so what is your main dish?
06:19Avocado toast.
06:20We're making a mango pound cake for our toast and a coconut buttercream for our avocado.
06:27The side dishes are brownies for sausage and then a yogurt parfait and then I'm making mango
06:34curd.
06:35What's the curd going to be?
06:36So I'm topping it with a white chocolate egg white and then putting the curd in the mold and then the
06:40curd is going to be the egg yolk.
06:42You are playing to win.
06:44That's a great idea.
06:46Good luck.
06:47It is about time that we were in the top, okay?
06:50It's every single time.
06:52It's always been, it's good, but there's just one thing that docks the points from being in the top
06:59and I'm tired of that.
07:02Hey, bakers.
07:03How about we add a little twist to this challenge?
07:06No!
07:07No, how about not?
07:10For adults, coffee is an essential part of breakfast.
07:15So each team needs to include coffee flavor in one of your three desserts.
07:20Ew!
07:22Does this taste like bitter?
07:23I don't know, like, jeez.
07:26All right, kiddos.
07:27Good luck.
07:28I have an idea.
07:29Wait, so you know how we use cocoa powder in our trio batter to make it brown?
07:32We can use coffee powder or like espresso powder.
07:35Yes!
07:35Okay, perfect.
07:37What do you think, Kebs?
07:39I feel like I could put it in the brownie because chocolate and coffee.
07:42Yeah.
07:42Just put some instant coffee in there.
07:44Like a mocha brownie to make our sausage pennies.
07:47We're making cinnamon breakfast potatoes slash apples.
07:51Um, I'm going to put a little bit like the cold brew.
07:54No, no, no, no, no, no.
07:56Melody, no.
07:57I'm supposed to add a liquid.
07:57I'm changing this with the liquid, Mayla.
08:00You just added coffee into this.
08:02Yeah, I know.
08:03She dumped the whole already pre-made coffee onto the apples and I got so mad.
08:07But that's okay.
08:08I think that's the right place to put it.
08:10And I think that like all the spices with the cinnamon will go definitely well with the coffee.
08:14Melody, taste the apple and see it taste like coffee.
08:17Melody, Melody, Melody!
08:19No!
08:20That's what you're supposed to do.
08:21I swapped it out with the honey and stuff.
08:24Trust the process on this one.
08:26Better be good.
08:27Harper and Holly.
08:33Hi!
08:34What's happening over here?
08:37A lot of components.
08:38So what did you get?
08:39What's your breakfast item?
08:40We got oatmeal.
08:41Oatmeal.
08:42It's a coconut macaroon base, a coconut whipped cream, a coconut macadamia brittle, and coconut rice pudding.
08:50Then we're making a sugar cookie egg and a shortbread cookie waffle with a maple coffee caramel.
08:56Just for that coffee twist.
08:58I hate coffee.
08:59It's so gross.
09:03Okay, now do you think you have enough time to take on all of these components?
09:07My goodness.
09:07Good luck girls, okay?
09:09We are big sleepover fans.
09:11Harper and I have this thing called the sister sleepover where we both sleep over and we do all sorts of fun stuff.
09:17Is it melted?
09:19Harper, I really need to work on my own food.
09:22We have a ton of components.
09:24So we really need to like manage our time well.
09:26So I'm going to make the oatmeal while Holland makes our shortbread dough.
09:30This is my macadamia coconut brittle.
09:32Harper, I can't measure because of that.
09:35Bakers, you have 90 minutes left.
09:38All right, you gotta hustle, hustle, hustle and get them rolls done, okay?
09:42Okay.
09:42I wasn't excited in the beginning because like I just didn't want to get a bad dessert imposter.
09:48But I mean, the dessert imposter we got was pancakes.
09:52It seems really fun to do them.
09:53So I think we're going to be good.
09:54For our pancakes, we're making a lemon blueberry cake with a maple buttercream.
10:00For the outside look of it, we're going to have like fondant ropes to look like
10:04and they're stacked on top of each other.
10:05We're going to also make a fondant pancake top.
10:09And then for our sausage patties, we're doing sugar cookies.
10:12And then for our eggs, we are going to be doing a meringue with a peach on top.
10:18Duff and Cartier, they really like the textures of like our sponges and everything.
10:22So for the lemon blueberry cake, I use buttermilk and sour cream to make it really moist.
10:28Because like I want the cake to be fluffy, like pancakes.
10:33All right, good job, good job.
10:35Keep going out.
10:36Chin, it broke.
10:37Oh my God.
10:39I am the main decorator.
10:40So this could be a challenge for me, but I want to experience it and try it out.
10:44All right, you got this up.
10:45You got this, you got this.
10:47Kira, I think I'm just going to add the whole can of condensed milk.
10:49Do whatever you think.
10:51We're really excited about doing dessert imposter.
10:54Because we both have made hyper-realistic cakes.
10:56I've done a soccer ball.
10:58I've done a flamingo.
10:59I've done a giant calculator.
11:00I've done a giant banana split.
11:02We got breakfast sandwich.
11:03We're doing a lox bagel sandwich.
11:05And we're doing donuts as a bagel.
11:07Topped with avocado, fondant red onion, and lox.
11:11For our sides, we're doing hash browns and a fried egg and a coffee ganache yolk.
11:16They look so good.
11:18We're choosing to do a bagel breakfast sandwich because donuts look the closest to bagels.
11:22And we want to make our hash browns out of coconut macaroons,
11:26because coconut flakes kind of look like potato shreds.
11:28So that's what you use in a hash brown.
11:30So right now I'm making some strawberry crepes.
11:32It's going to be salmon for our lox bagel.
11:36Wait, that looks so good.
11:37Hash browns.
11:39Oh, those look so cute.
11:40Those look just like hash browns.
11:42Yes.
11:43Yes, she knows what it is.
11:45I think that Leah and Kira are like a team to watch out for.
11:48Because, you know, they have great decorating.
11:51They're really meticulous.
11:53Yeah, I think they're definitely someone to keep our eyes on.
11:57What are you guys making?
11:58Too many things.
11:59I'm currently making sugar cookies.
12:02Oh, nice.
12:02And it's really fun to just like scoop it out with your hands.
12:05Fact is possible, please.
12:06We have a lot of stuff we need to get done.
12:08Cool.
12:10We got cinnamon rolls and our side dishes are going to be a fried egg and a yogurt parfait.
12:16So when we were a tiny bit younger, our favorite obsession with sleepovers was doing pranks during
12:21the night.
12:22So one sleepover, our friends Charlotte and her little brother Holland, who is Lenore's best friend,
12:27came over and they put whipped cream on our faces while we were sleeping.
12:32And then when we woke up, everything was so sticky.
12:37It was totally worth it.
12:39Okay, add this in.
12:42So for the cinnamon roll, we are going to do a pate choux cream puff.
12:45For the twist, it's going to be filled with a coffee pastry cream.
12:49And we're going to do a cheesecake yogurt parfait and a sugar cookie fried egg.
12:55Oh, what, Lenore?
12:56Yeah.
12:58Um, that's not supposed to happen.
13:00You made this before, right?
13:01Why is the butter like separating out?
13:04I didn't do anything.
13:06My pate choux, it's looking weird.
13:09I think there is a problem with the recipe, Lenore.
13:12Not pate choux texture.
13:14I feel like it's not going to stay when I pipe it.
13:17It's very important that it does.
13:20No, no.
13:21Lenore.
13:22Yes?
13:22Code red, this is not going to work.
13:25What do you mean?
13:26It's not going to pipe.
13:26It's too thin.
13:27This is bad.
13:30Oh, no.
13:35What's the conversion?
13:38So, how many?
13:40Eight ounces.
13:41You need eight ounces?
13:43No, I need eight tablespoons.
13:45Eight tablespoons is going to be four ounces.
13:50Oh, no.
13:53We figured out what we did wrong with my pate choux.
13:56Math brain is, like, not my thing.
13:59So, we did the conversion from tablespoons to ounces wrong.
14:02I really hope this works in order.
14:07Okay, this actually doesn't look bad.
14:08This looks normal.
14:09All right, we got this.
14:11I knew something was wrong with the last one.
14:13This one looks so much better.
14:14I pipe out my pate choux.
14:16It looks a lot better to make it look more like a cinnamon roll.
14:20I shape it with an offset spatula.
14:22I feel like these could pass the cinnamon rolls.
14:24So glad I redid it.
14:26Bakers, one hour left.
14:28Breakfast imposters.
14:30And don't forget to work coffee in one of your imposters.
14:34So, to this one, I'm going to add the espresso powder.
14:37So, the twist is, you have to add coffee.
14:41And so, we're going to add it to our bacon wheels,
14:43because we have to make some of the bacon brown anyways.
14:46So, it will give the bacon a little brown,
14:49and then also give it that coffee flavor.
14:51You talk like an adult, Mace.
14:54You're like, so we're just going to add espresso powder.
14:57So, to make our toilet batter look like bacon,
14:59I've spread the darker batter,
15:02and then I add some white spots on the bacon,
15:05and then we swirl them with toothpicks.
15:08That's good.
15:10I'm here.
15:10Time starts now.
15:12Now.
15:14Good job, Bart. Good job, Bart.
15:15Yeah, like, that's a cute color for like a pancake.
15:17Sure.
15:18Yeah, they're good.
15:19So, we came up with this dye-like solution
15:22to make like the color of like pancakes.
15:24So, they look a little bit like beige,
15:26and we add a little water in it so you can brush it on.
15:28I like how it looks.
15:29It looks good to me.
15:30Okay, finish those pancake tops.
15:31Now, we get started on the cookies, okay?
15:34So, for the coffee, please, we're putting coffee extract
15:36into our sugar cookies that we're making to like sausage.
15:39So, it can be a coffee sugar cookie.
15:42It does taste like coffee.
15:43Just to give you a warning,
15:44I'm going to be coming back for seconds.
15:46Hot.
15:47Yeah, I like coffee.
15:49I just had to add milk and sugar into my 12 packs of sugar.
15:53Don't.
15:54You don't have to mention that.
15:57All right, that's good.
15:59I'm going to get toasty.
16:00To make the mango pound cake look like toast,
16:02I'm just going to spread some butter on each side,
16:04toast it real quick.
16:05Not so it's burned.
16:06I don't want that like toast flavor.
16:08I just want the look.
16:09Beautiful.
16:12Yes.
16:12And to get this buttercream to look like avocado,
16:16I'm just mixing up two colors, the shade of an avocado,
16:19the darker shade and the lighter shade.
16:20And then I'm just going to push them like a fork,
16:22because the most common way that I see avocado toast
16:25is like mashed up.
16:26I've never seen avocado toast, so I don't know if it looks good.
16:32It looks good.
16:33Kenneth, can you start on the yogurt parfait?
16:37OK.
16:38I'm taking charge of the parfait.
16:41And I start by making a coconut whipped cream.
16:44Seems a lot thicker.
16:46I would say it's fun taking on one big component,
16:50so then I can prove I can do stuff.
16:52Working on my own, because most of the time,
16:54Abby is telling me where to go and what to do.
16:59Yeah, you're doing fine.
17:01You keep watching it like something's wrong.
17:04Oh, they look so good.
17:06So the macros are definitely done,
17:08but I want them to look more like that color of a hash brown.
17:12So use luster dress to try and artificially color it
17:14like that fried color.
17:16Can I have one?
17:17Hold on.
17:17Genesis.
17:18Yo, yes.
17:19Which one do you look better?
17:20Does this one look really weird?
17:21That's too much brown, and this one's a bit too light.
17:24Just like make it a little bit darker.
17:27Well, we're a little bit closer to Genesis and Alkabar.
17:29Our station is like always next to them.
17:31We're so used to helping each other, tasting each other's stuff.
17:33And so they're becoming our close friends.
17:35Yeah.
17:36I'm making our matcha buttercream,
17:39so it can resemble like mashed avocados.
17:41And our side's gonna be fried egg,
17:44and our egg's gonna be like a milk jelly.
17:47The milk jelly is basically just gelatin and milk mixed together,
17:50and then we let it set.
17:51It's inspired by something I've had at a couple of boba shops,
17:55and like this is the closest thing that resembles like a literal egg texture.
17:59They have that like bounciness to them, kind of like egg whites do.
18:02We shall see.
18:04It's gonna become something really cool.
18:06And then the twist is to add coffee as flavor.
18:08We're thinking we want to put the coffee into the egg yolk as a ganache.
18:12Hopefully that's enough coffee.
18:14To make the outer shell of our egg yolk,
18:16we start by melting some yellow and orange chocolate,
18:18and then pouring that into a little silicone mold.
18:21And then we add in our coffee ganache,
18:23a size of diet yellow, kind of like a yolk.
18:25I know it looks thin, but I made it intentionally thin.
18:28We want them to look like actual over easy eggs,
18:31so they can spew out this coffee ganache.
18:34Bakers, 20 minutes.
18:36Give us breakfast on the outside and dessert in the inside.
18:41I'm making my blueberries.
18:45It's gotta be tasty.
18:47All right, focus on the parfait.
18:49Joey, what are your sides?
18:51Um, we're doing a fried egg and a yogurt parfait.
18:54What are you doing?
18:55Yogurt parfait and sausage.
18:57Okay.
18:58I think the strongest bakers in the kitchen currently
19:00are definitely Abigail and Kenneth.
19:02They've just been doing so well.
19:03They just scare me.
19:05Oh, you better make that parfait perfect.
19:08I know.
19:09Love you.
19:10Love you too.
19:12So the yogurt parfait is going to be a deconstructed cheesecake,
19:16and it's going to be softer than a normal cheesecake
19:18to look like yogurt.
19:20And we're making strawberries, which have been soaked in sugar,
19:23and lemon juice, and lemon zest,
19:24and then a graham cracker and, like, cookie, like, crumble
19:27to look like what's called granola.
19:30For our coffee twist, we're doing a coffee pastry cream
19:32inside our cinnamon rolls.
19:34So I add one teaspoon of vanilla extract,
19:37and I replace the second one with coffee extract.
19:39Taste it.
19:42Tastes like coffee pastry cream.
19:43Good.
19:44That's what we're going for.
19:45Perfect.
19:46Taste this, Holland.
19:47Tell me what you think.
19:48Coffee maple caramel.
19:51That's delicious.
19:53So I was really excited about the coffee twist,
19:54because we made a maple caramel to go on top of our shortbread waffles,
19:59and so I just added some coffee extracts and maple caramel,
20:02and they went together great.
20:03I'll never eat a waffle without syrup.
20:06You need syrup on your waffle.
20:07Yeah.
20:07And waffle, if you cook shortbread in a waffle maker,
20:10it will look like a waffle.
20:12Waffle what, little waffles?
20:14Our big, like, trick is you can cook anything in a waffle maker.
20:19We have made brownies in the waffle maker, blondies in the waffle maker,
20:23peanut butter cookies in the waffle maker.
20:29Yay!
20:30Perfect!
20:31And then, to top off our oatmeal, we have our coconut rice pudding.
20:35We need our rice pudding to be just a little bit brown,
20:37because oatmeal is not, like, stark white like our rice pudding is.
20:41So we add a bit of brown.
20:43Why is it pink?
20:44This is supposed to be a...
20:45Harper, what have you done?
20:47You ruined our only rice pudding.
20:49No, I didn't.
20:50Yeah, but we dyed it pink.
20:52There's no fixing that.
20:53There's no turning back.
20:54I, in my head, I was like,
20:58No, I'm so mad at you.
21:00I know.
21:01Yeah, it's pink.
21:02Is that bad?
21:04It's pretty bad.
21:06It's pink, is what I can say.
21:12Bakers, you have 10 minutes left.
21:14You guys are imposterizing breakfast.
21:18This challenge is harder than it looks.
21:20What are we gonna do?
21:22I think we should add a bit of white.
21:24You agree?
21:26I don't know.
21:27Just fix it.
21:28I'm thinking food coloring, it's made up of, like,
21:30red and a bunch of other colors.
21:32So if you don't add enough, then, like, it's gonna look white and pink.
21:35And so we add a bit of white to tone it down just a bit to lighten it.
21:39And then we add, like, a tiny little drop of black.
21:43Oh, this is much white.
21:45Polly, look.
21:46Is it good?
21:47Yeah.
21:48Okay.
21:49I was really scared for a sec.
21:51Let me tell.
21:53Nice.
21:54Our lemon shortcake drop cookies, they definitely look like biscuits.
21:58And now we're working on our Diplomat cream country gravy.
22:01Diplomat is a pastry cream, but you fold in stabilized whipped cream.
22:06It's kind of thicker than, like, a curd.
22:09So it looks like gravy and it kind of has a texture of gravy.
22:13Oh, perfect gravy and biscuits, Mace.
22:16Thanks.
22:16All right.
22:17All the cookies, okay.
22:17Okay, let's see if it tastes like coffee, though.
22:22I could taste the essence, but I feel like they'd be like,
22:24you need more coffee.
22:25It looks like a glaze on coffee from them.
22:27Yeah.
22:28So for the twist, we have to add coffee into one of our desserts.
22:32But our Sausage Friday sugar cookies, they didn't really taste
22:36like coffee, like you didn't taste the flavor.
22:38So we're going to brush our cookies with a coffee simple syrup.
22:43Watch out.
22:44I don't want to cut you.
22:45So we need to turn our pound cake into French toast.
22:47So we egg wash our cake, and then I put them on the pan with some butter,
22:51and then I make them all crispy.
22:53Don't burn.
22:54They look good.
22:55Don't burn.
22:55We're kind of copying the idea that you use to make normal French toast.
23:01Okay.
23:01Ha-ah.
23:03Okay, we're not a pizza person.
23:04Bakers, you have five minutes left.
23:06All right, hurry up a bit.
23:08I made mocha brownies for sausage.
23:11We're going to crumble them up and like press it in a cookie cutter.
23:14And to build our parfait, I start by filling it with coconut whipped cream.
23:19And then I put raspberries on top of that.
23:22And we're going to crush the lemon shortbread for granola.
23:26What do you think?
23:27Oh, it's so good.
23:29Good job, Kenneth.
23:30Kenneth is super happy about his parfait.
23:33I am really proud of myself.
23:36Perfect.
23:36Are they covered completely?
23:38All the strawberries covered?
23:39No, put more.
23:40We don't...
23:40We still have to make the egg yolks for the fried eggs.
23:45And I still have to assemble the cinnamon roll buns.
23:50So I pipe out hazelnut chocolate spread to look like the cinnamon.
23:55And then I pour on my royal icing to look like the icing on cinnamon rolls.
23:59Oh, you know what?
24:00That's good.
24:00That's fine.
24:01That's actually fine.
24:02I'm going to put two or three onions on each thing.
24:04So I need quite a few rings.
24:06To make the onion, I cut strips upon it.
24:08And then I paint the edges purple.
24:10Whoa, your onions look really good.
24:11There's only a few minutes left.
24:13Now that our breakfast sandwich is stocked, all we need to do is plate it and add our sides.
24:17Hey!
24:18Wow.
24:19Looks good.
24:20That one looks great.
24:21Awkward?
24:22Awkward.
24:23That's fine.
24:23That's good.
24:24Now I need you to help me plate these.
24:26So we take our cakes and then we're going to wrap them with ropes to make it look like pancake
24:32sacks and put the pancake top right on top of the cake.
24:35But we're down to the wire and we were going to think about doing a meringue for like our sunny
24:41side of egg whites, but we don't have time.
24:42So we're just going to use the extra buttercream that we have left and little peaches with our melon
24:46scooper.
24:48Almost, almost.
24:49One minute.
24:50Guys make good decisions here.
24:53Is your breakfast ready to serve?
24:55Yes.
24:58I thought I was doing one.
24:59Oh, sorry.
25:00Too bad.
25:01Oh wait, that looks so good.
25:03Please, please.
25:04Come on, Mase, come on.
25:07That's it!
25:08That's it?
25:09It's breakfast time.
25:11Everybody looks so good.
25:12Okay, well, you think ours doesn't look good?
25:14Hello?
25:14No, I'm saying it looks good.
25:16What if Duff says, geez, you really fooled me this time?
25:21I hope.
25:22Here comes the best part of a sleepover.
25:25Breakfast!
25:26I'm ready.
25:28Macy and Emmett, get in here.
25:30It's breakfast.
25:31Good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning.
25:34Good morning.
25:34Time to start the day.
25:35Good morning, Emmett!
25:36Good morning.
25:37So today we have made for you a lemon shortcake drop biscuit, a vanilla bean diplomat cream country gravy,
25:47some espresso tuile bacon, and a sunny-side-up sugar cookie egg.
25:53Oh, my goodness.
25:54Your biscuit and gravy.
25:56Is this really?
25:57I mean, it looks like a biscuit underneath there.
25:59Really, really nice.
26:00The marbling on the bacon is so cool.
26:04This actually looks like there's a company that makes vegetarian bacon in the frozen aisle.
26:11Exactly.
26:12Great, exactly.
26:14It looks so much like this.
26:15Awesome.
26:18I want some breakfast with my biscuits and gravy.
26:26Man, this cookie is buttery.
26:29It is really good.
26:30This is a great recipe.
26:31I got to tell you though, I think my favorite part is the bacon.
26:34It's really crispy.
26:35I can definitely taste the coffee in here, but it eats like bacon.
26:39Yeah.
26:39Like when I pick it up, I feel like I'm just eating some bacon.
26:42The drop cake that eats like a biscuit is genius.
26:45Oh, my goodness.
26:46I love the amount of salt you got into your gravy, and it's still like sweet.
26:50It's perfect.
26:53Yeah, you know, it is really difficult to make an imposter plate really taste good.
26:58And the way that you guys have put this together, not only have you absolutely
27:02nailed the looks of it, but it's delicious.
27:05Way to go.
27:07Bye.
27:07Bye.
27:08Judging it went pretty well.
27:10I definitely think we could win this.
27:12Not to brag or anything.
27:13I think we're pretty good bakers now.
27:16Wow.
27:17You did a great job.
27:19Wow.
27:21Abigail and Kenneth, this does not look like a farm breakfast.
27:27You guys eat a lot of avocado toast down there on the farm?
27:29No.
27:30I've never had avocado toast.
27:31No, definitely not.
27:33All right.
27:33What did you do?
27:34So for the avocado toast, we toasted mango pound cake, and then we added coconut frosting,
27:41a white chocolate egg white, and a mango curd egg yolk.
27:46The sausage patties are brownies, and that's where we incorporated the coffee.
27:50And then the parfaits are coconut whipped cream, raspberries, and then crushed lemon shortbread cookies.
27:57This avocado toast looks great.
28:00I love the two-tone.
28:01The fact that you got like a lighter green, a darker green.
28:05Really, really nice.
28:06And then this looks like sausage.
28:08Kenneth, what did you make?
28:09What did you help with?
28:10I made all of the parfait.
28:13You made this?
28:14Yes.
28:15This looks yummy.
28:16If I saw this on a menu, I would order it in a heartbeat.
28:19Oh my goodness.
28:20I almost convinced myself that that was actually yogurt.
28:26Really?
28:26Yes, like it looks so much like a parfait from here at least.
28:30Where do I go first?
28:31I'll go to the parfait.
28:32Yes.
28:33He's excited.
28:36Interesting.
28:39I have a certain feeling about this.
28:43I think I know what you're about to say.
28:45Mm-hmm.
28:46Oh dear.
28:47Oh, we're in.
28:53No.
28:54Do you want to tell him?
28:55You want me to tell him?
28:56I think you can tell him.
28:57Just tell us.
29:01This is delicious.
29:07He was freaking out.
29:08He was like.
29:11Ma'am.
29:12You know, all the cookie crumbs in here are really what makes it happen.
29:16They're like kind of crunchy, but then they're like really airy and they just sort of pop in
29:19your mouth.
29:20Yes.
29:20It's really, really nice.
29:22He's so proud of that.
29:23That was my first time ever making shortbread cookies.
29:26They're delicious.
29:28Keep it up.
29:29I think the brownie, it just needs a little more sugar.
29:32It's really kind of savory, but I can taste the coffee and that's good.
29:36Probably should have added sugar when I added bitter coffee.
29:39Yes.
29:39But like the mango curd on the cake is delicious.
29:44It's coconutty.
29:45It's refreshing and light and beautiful.
29:48And Kenneth, I am so proud of you.
29:51I'm so glad that you took the initiative and you did something that you can be really proud of.
29:56And I'm proud you let them, Abigail.
30:00Thank you, guys.
30:01Bye.
30:02The way we performed, I feel good.
30:04And the only thing Abby's concerned about is not being in the top.
30:09Agreed.
30:10I feel like being in the top and not winning.
30:14Go, Kenneth, go.
30:16The French toast has arrived.
30:18The French toast has arrived.
30:21All right, Layla and Melody.
30:22What are we looking at?
30:24So we made pound cake with sausage and breakfast potatoes as our side.
30:29I mean, this sausage is incredible.
30:31What's the sausage made out of?
30:32Peanut butter cereal treats.
30:34Peanut butter cereal treats.
30:36The home fries are made of?
30:38Apples.
30:39Apples, figured.
30:41That's where we put our coffee in.
30:42The home fries.
30:43This is really, really good.
30:45Using the French toast technique on cake, I think, was really smart because you really get that like...
30:51Like the look of it.
30:52Yeah.
30:55Look, I think French toasting the cake, you get a little bit of that char,
31:00like where the egg gets really dark, which you want on French toast.
31:03Yeah.
31:04Okay.
31:04Here, these are a little burnt tasting.
31:06Okay.
31:07Okay.
31:07And I love the apples, but I don't get much coffee.
31:11Okay.
31:12Now, your sausage.
31:13The texture is just a little too sticky for me and very sweet.
31:17That could have been a good place to add that coffee in there.
31:20Okay.
31:21Thank you, Layla.
31:21Thank you, Melody.
31:22Thank you, guys.
31:24Bye, guys.
31:26After we're judging, I'm feeling a little bit worried.
31:29It looked really good.
31:30It's not bad.
31:32I don't understand coffee and apples.
31:35I'm right with you.
31:38Jovia Lenore, what did you two make?
31:41The main dessert imposter we were given was cinnamon rolls.
31:45So we have cinnamon rolls, yogurt parfait, and fried egg.
31:48The cinnamon rolls are made out of pate choux with coffee pastry cream.
31:53So we had to incorporate the coffee flavor.
31:55The egg is a sugar cookie and vanilla wafer dipped in coating chocolate.
32:00And then the parfait is a no-bake cheesecake.
32:03These eggs here, the little vanilla cookie is the perfect shape for an egg yolk.
32:12It's the first time I've seen anyone do that.
32:13Okay.
32:14But man, that cinnamon roll looks really good.
32:18Let's see.
32:21All right, that parfait is insane.
32:24Okay.
32:25It is so good.
32:26There's like this salty cream cheese and then bright and fresh strawberries.
32:31This is delicious.
32:32And your cinnamon roll, you have so much coffee flavor in that pastry cream.
32:37But your cookie egg, it's a little sweet.
32:40And flavor-wise, there's really nothing exciting happening.
32:43Okay.
32:44But two out of three ain't bad.
32:46Two out of three.
32:47Definitely.
32:48Thanks, girls.
32:49Hey, Leah and Kira.
32:54So we got assigned a breakfast sandwich.
32:57So it's a vanilla donut, strawberry like crepe, lox, fondant onion rings.
33:02On the side, we have a coconut macaroon as a hash brown, and we have an over easy egg, milk jelly.
33:09And for the coffee twist, we put coffee ganache in the egg yolk.
33:13This egg is really, really cool.
33:16The fact that you got egg texture is just amazing and really smart.
33:23And this looks exactly like a hash brown.
33:26Now, we have breakfast sandwich.
33:28Everything is really nice.
33:30The only thing I'm a little nervous about is the fondant.
33:33I'm just worried about if the fondant flavor is going to take over or not.
33:37But your egg is so cool.
33:39It even looks like an egg on the fork.
33:40It does.
33:41That is crazy.
33:42It's amazing.
33:43Oh.
33:45Oh.
33:46Oh.
33:48Oh, look, it's runny.
33:54This is tripping me out.
33:55Whoa.
33:57It melts in your mouth.
33:58The egg is blowing my mind.
34:00This is the best egg and pasta we've ever had.
34:03And you have tons of coffee flavor in your yolk.
34:05I love it.
34:06Yes.
34:07And the macaroon.
34:08Whoa.
34:09Salty, coconutty, crispy, baked to perfection.
34:14Goodness.
34:14This is delicious.
34:16Now, the sandwich.
34:21Oh.
34:22Your sandwich.
34:24Yeah, ladies, it's not delicious.
34:27Like, the donut isn't baked all the way.
34:29And then the fondant, unfortunately, you put a little bit of fondant in something.
34:33It doesn't matter what anything else tastes like.
34:35Everything tastes like fondant.
34:36It's just sort of what it does.
34:38It looks great.
34:39You also have to make it taste good, OK?
34:41So you've got to step up your taste.
34:43All right.
34:44Bye.
34:45Yeah.
34:45I mean, listen, once again, right?
34:47You got something really cool looking and not delicious.
34:50Yeah.
34:51Genesis and Akbar, come on in.
34:53We weren't, like, the most excited about this challenge, but our pancakes looked really nice.
34:59It seemed like we did pretty OK for this one.
35:01Hello.
35:02Hello.
35:02Hi.
35:03Hi.
35:03What did you make and how did you make it?
35:05For our imposter, we got pancakes.
35:07So we did a lemon blueberry cake for our short stack.
35:11And then we coated it with a maple buttercream.
35:14And then we did coffee sugar cookies, sausage patties with a syrup on there to taste it more.
35:20And then we did frosting and peaches for our sunny-tied-up eggs.
35:24We were going to do meringue, but we didn't have enough time.
35:28I just, I love these pancakes.
35:31It looks like I'm cutting into pancakes.
35:33It does.
35:36The sausage is super cool.
35:38Like, I love these.
35:39But the egg, whoa, the egg was a miss.
35:41Yeah.
35:42It doesn't look like any egg I've ever seen.
35:44Yeah.
35:44But that's OK.
35:45I think your cake is really nice.
35:47A lot of blueberries.
35:48Your cakes are really phenomenal, honestly.
35:52And then this is delicious.
35:56The coffee flavor is there.
35:58I got no coffee flavor.
35:59You didn't get coffee flavor in yours?
36:01It's crazy.
36:02I don't taste coffee at all.
36:09I don't know if I got coffee on this cookie.
36:11Really?
36:17You guys, this one totally tastes like coffee.
36:20This one does not taste like coffee.
36:22Really?
36:22OK.
36:22So weird.
36:23Yeah.
36:24Great sponge.
36:25No coffee flavor for me.
36:26And the egg was a miss.
36:28So there are some issues here.
36:31But cool looking pancakes.
36:32Bye bye.
36:32Bye.
36:34I don't think they soaked this cookie.
36:35And that's the one you got.
36:37Unfortunately.
36:39Harper and Holland.
36:41OK.
36:42What are we looking at?
36:43Tell us all about those breakfast imposters.
36:46So you have oatmeal, you have a waffle, and you have a sunny-side-up egg.
36:52So the oatmeal, there's coconut macaroon.
36:55Macaroon.
36:55Macaroon.
36:56It's a coconut macaroon.
36:56Like we kind of crumbled them up.
36:58Yeah.
36:58Then we did a coconut whipped cream and coconut rice pudding.
37:02And then we did waffles.
37:03Yeah, it's coconut shortbread.
37:05And then it's a maple coffee caramel sauce.
37:08And then we have a sugar cookie egg.
37:11Y'all, like there's no way you're going to tell me that's not an actual waffle.
37:14And that's not a bowl of oatmeal.
37:16No, it isn't.
37:16It looks great.
37:17Right?
37:18It really, you have absolutely faked us out.
37:20Except for the weird egg in a bowl.
37:22Right?
37:22This didn't really work.
37:23Eggs don't go in bowls.
37:24You know what I'm saying?
37:25Yeah.
37:25But this, the waffle.
37:27Oh my gosh, I can't wait to get into this waffle.
37:33Ooh.
37:35OK.
37:36Your waffle cookie is really wet.
37:40It seems like steam or air or something wet was put in there.
37:43I think it's a syrup.
37:44The syrup.
37:45Yeah.
37:45It's a lot of syrup.
37:46And non-sun and coffee.
37:47Yeah, like where's the coffee?
37:48Yeah.
37:49Could use more.
37:50But I love this oatmeal.
37:53I love all that coconut.
37:54I love all the texture in here.
37:56The rice pudding is so enjoyable and vaguely oatmeal-esque.
38:04This is going to be a tough decision, man.
38:06Everybody did really good on one or two things.
38:09And then not great on one or two things.
38:11Yep.
38:12We got our work cut out for us.
38:14Yeah.
38:16Today, we asked you to create edible optical illusions.
38:22And you made some of the best dessert imposters I have ever seen.
38:28And we told you taste is just as important as looks.
38:31Which is why these two teams landed in the top.
38:36Macy and Emmett.
38:36Oh!
38:37Oh!
38:38Oh!
38:38Oh!
38:39Every one of your breakfast components was delicious.
38:44We love the crispy edges of your biscuits and gravy.
38:47Your sunny-side-up egg cookie was buttery.
38:50And we were so impressed by your coffee-flavored bacon twill.
38:55It looked and ate like the real thing.
38:57Mm-hmm.
38:58Wow.
38:58And Abigail and Kenneth.
39:01Yes!
39:02Yes!
39:04Not just one, but two shades of green gave your avocado toast a totally realistic look.
39:10And the cookie crumbs added nice pops of texture to your rich and creamy parfait.
39:14But one breakfast blew our minds.
39:19And it was baked by...
39:23Macy and Emmett!
39:24Oh my gosh!
39:25Guys!
39:27Bang, bang, bang.
39:29We won!
39:31Oh!
39:32It's a real celebration.
39:33You're smiling.
39:37Put your arms down.
39:38I dreamt of winning.
39:39But I knew they'd be really good.
39:41They definitely deserved it.
39:42Macy and Emmett, congratulations.
39:44It's your second win.
39:47Oh, here's a little prize for winning.
39:51What?
39:52The microwave?
39:53Wow.
39:53Yeah.
39:54Sleepover stuffies!
39:58And we signed them.
39:59Oh, thank you.
40:00You're welcome.
40:04You guys and Abigail and Kenneth are not going anywhere.
40:09Good job, guys.
40:10Good job, guys.
40:11Actually, we're going back to the hotel.
40:14All right.
40:15Three other teams did well enough to stick around.
40:19They are...
40:22Leah and Kira.
40:25Jovi and Lenore.
40:28And...
40:33Harper and Holland.
40:34That leaves Layla and Melody and Genesis and Akbar.
40:40Please step forward.
40:46Layla and Melody, your French toast pound cake had a burnt flavor.
40:50Plus, we struggled to get coffee in your apple potatoes.
40:54Genesis and Akbar.
40:55While Duff got the coffee in your sausage patty cookie, I did not.
41:00And looks wise, your egg wasn't fooling anyone.
41:05This was far and away the most difficult challenge so far.
41:09But unfortunately, one team must leave us.
41:12That team is...
41:13Layla and Melody.
41:18I'm so sorry, you guys.
41:20You're really sweet.
41:21We loved having you.
41:22Sorry.
41:22Please say your goodbyes.
41:23You did so good.
41:24You did so good.
41:25You did so good.
41:26You did so good.
41:27I mean, I don't feel like the best.
41:30I feel like we could have, like, done better.
41:32But I'm very proud of myself.
41:34Especially making it this far.
41:35Yeah, I accomplished a dream.
41:37Bye, ladies.
41:39Bye.
41:40Bye.
41:40Bye.
41:43Next time...
41:44Are we at a jewelry salon?
41:46Edible friendship bracelets.
41:47This is gonna be awesome!
41:50With six teens left, who will bring the love?
41:53Whoa!
41:54That's so bright purple.
41:56Man, is that delicious.
41:59This is weird.
42:01I think we might have scrambled our eggs.
42:02Would that send them home?
42:04We'll see.
