00:00Hello.
00:01Can we answer questions?
00:03How does this work?
00:04Are you hungry?
00:05Are you thirsty?
00:06Can we offer libations?
00:07Hello.
00:08Julia Pierpont from Xinhua News of China.
00:11Hello.
00:12And you guys are amazing.
00:14Fabulous work.
00:15Thank you very much for that.
00:16I'm really curious what you think or how you think the Time's Up movement factors into
00:23this amazing story about focusing on a woman finding her own voice.
00:28I think the timing of the movement making a resurgence because this is certainly not
00:33the first time we've been talking about the issues that women face in the workplace or
00:37walking through the world.
00:38But the resurgence of this movement with a new name had fortuitous timing with the release
00:43of the show.
00:44I think it made people view the show and welcome the show with new eyes.
00:48But the truth is Midge's story is one that so many women have experienced in one form
00:54or another before and will again.
00:58Thanks.
00:59Next question with Westwood One in the back.
01:04Hi.
01:05Congratulations.
01:07Jim Roop with Westwood One News.
01:09This show did not take very long at all to really take off.
01:12So does anything surprise you at all about the success of this show?
01:17Everything.
01:18Everything.
01:19All of it.
01:20Everything.
01:21The whole thing.
01:22The whole thing is a big surprise.
01:23You don't go to work expecting any of this.
01:24Brian wasn't surprised.
01:25Brian wasn't surprised.
01:26Brian wasn't surprised at all.
01:27Brian was a little disappointed actually.
01:29I personally was very surprised how it's taken off in other countries other than America.
01:36I thought that it's about a Jewish family and I thought it would resonate with Jewish people.
01:41But I've had people come up to me from India, from China telling me that it resonated with them as well.
01:47Mostly I think because of the family aspect to it.
01:50Because family is universal.
01:56Next question with Jeanne Wolf.
01:57Hi.
01:58Hi.
01:59Hi.
02:00Well, some of the people that I talked to coming through said, no surprise at all, that from the first reading, they knew they were part of something special.
02:10So, yeah.
02:12They actually knew that what we were doing would be special for us.
02:17We didn't know that the world would agree.
02:19How has this feeling of success inspired what you do?
02:24Did it scare you at all?
02:26Did it make you feel like, ah, how do we live up to this?
02:29Or did it like, whew, we're on a winner, let's take this ride?
02:32Well, I'd say scary and thrilling.
02:36It's a combination of lots of feelings.
02:38But of course it's scary.
02:40Okay.
02:41It's scary and thrilling.
02:43But of course it's scary when you are so celebrated and then you feel an even bigger response.
02:48Even bigger responsibility to the audience that's embraced you.
02:51So that's scary.
02:53But thrilling and inspiring and all those things.
02:56Yeah.
02:57I don't think I was prepared at this point in my life in that sort of mid-life time to meet someone that's youthful the way this gorgeous woman is to my right that plays our daughter.
03:07And I have to say to learn every day from her, that's a thrilling joy too, is to actually get inspired by your fellow actors and particularly those like Miss Rachel Brosnahan.
03:18Tony, you've been involved in this kind of, for a long time.
03:22Did you feel the success of this?
03:24Did you feel the hope of this?
03:26Well, you never know when you get into something, of course.
03:30And I've given up trying to predict whether something will work or not work.
03:36Very often I really, I'm convinced it will work and I'm always wrong.
03:41And this time, this time I wasn't wrong.
03:46I had a really good feeling about it because of the high level of writing and this unbelievable cast.
03:53And not just an amazing group of actors, but perfectly cast in their roles.
04:00And so I get to say for once in all of these years that I was right.
04:07Next question with Hollywood Life.
04:09Hi, Russ from Hollywood Life right here.
04:11What doors still need to be open for women in Hollywood, do you think?
04:16I mean, there's...
04:18A lot of doors.
04:20While we've...
04:22Thank you, Kevin.
04:24While we've come, we've come a long way.
04:29We're opening the door to new discussions.
04:32I think we're talking a lot about a lot of the right things.
04:35But still, what's the study that came out?
04:374% of directors of the top 1200 films in the last 10 years have been directed by women.
04:43So while we're talking a lot about it, we're still...
04:46We still have yet to follow through with the kind of action that is representative of what women deserve.
04:52And it's even harder for women of color.
04:54We're still beginning to have that conversation.
04:57We have a lot of work to do, but I feel very hopeful about the way the industry is coming together to collectively make this change.
05:04But we can't stop.
05:05This is just the beginning.
05:07Last question with Twitter.
05:09Hi.
05:10Hi, guys.
05:11Hi.
05:12And I'm asking a question on behalf of Jenna on Twitter.
05:16And she wants to know, when did you guys know the project you were working on was so special?
05:21And after you guys answered this question, if anyone would like to thank somebody that they haven't had a chance to thank,
05:27they can go find Jonathan over there and he'll do a video and we'll post it on social media for you,
05:32because I know you have such a great ensemble cast.
05:34But yeah, when did you guys know this was such a special project?
05:37Day one.
05:39From the time...
05:40For me, from the time I got to the bottom of the first page of the script.
05:44I couldn't have possibly wanted to be more a part of this project.
05:49And I'm so glad to be here.
05:51What about you guys?
05:52Luke?
05:53Zach?
05:54Brian?
05:55It bred like magic, but I don't think I really knew until there was a question from Twitter from Jenna.
06:00That's really...
06:02Thank you, Jenna.
06:03I mean, this was great, but that was...
06:08That was the last question.
06:11Thank you guys.
06:13And thank you for all of your support.
06:16It's really meant the world to us.
