00:00Let's take a look at some of the first odds that have come out on the Super Bowl, which are pointing towards Seattle, minus four and a half, with a total of 45 and a half points in this game.
00:11Do you feel like, let's start off with this, that the odds makers got the line and the total correct?
00:18Yeah, I feel like it's the logical outcome.
00:20Our rankings have Seattle as the best team, whereas New England are closer to the top 10 rather than the top five.
00:27So, I mean, it's a logical outcome that it would be that way.
00:30It's going to be strange for not so much the New England players, because there's not many of them there from those Super Bowl runs.
00:35But this is the first time for New England fans and for that franchise that they'll go into it being an underdog for, what, 20 years?
00:43Now, let's talk quarterbacks here, Ben, for a minute, because this is what drives the league at this point.
00:48And certainly the quarterbacks impact the game like no other position in professional sports.
00:54You guys have assigned a numerical score and letter grade to every quarterback's performance.
00:58And so I'd like you to get into that and certainly how you derive at some of these numbers.
01:02Yeah, so, I mean, Drake May finished out as the second quarterback.
01:07He actually was our All-Pro and our MVP pick because the only quarterback that was above him was Brock Purdy.
01:12And he didn't play enough games to qualify for those All-Pro and MVP type selections.
01:18He got a grade, but he didn't do enough to be considered for those things.
01:22May has just been excellent in clutch situations.
01:24We put a lot of weight onto that sort of thing.
01:26So how they do at the end of the half, how they do when they're in the opposing half, how they do in those crucial two-minute situations, really all kind of weigh in.
01:37And Darnold was more just middle of the pack.
01:40May was really, really good.
01:42May has also been absolutely superb when under pressure, which, as we've seen in the playoffs, is quite regularly.
01:48He's actually been worse in the playoffs under pressure than he was in the regular season.
01:51And that probably goes towards the quality of the defense as he's been facing in the playoffs.
01:57And it'll be interesting to see if Seattle can keep that up.
02:00And he was the second best quarterback under pressure by our metrics this year.
02:04And he struggled a lot more in the playoffs.
02:07He's more in the bottom half out of the quarterbacks we've seen.
02:10So hopefully he can stand up to that in this and make it a really good contest.
02:15Because I fear if he starts to fold under the pressure of the Seattle defense, this could get ugly pretty fast.
