00:00I had a double jaw surgery. It's a really intense surgery. So they broke my lower jaw,
00:07pushed it back a little bit, and my upper jaw, they cut it up, broke it, and pulled it forward
00:14to correct my bite. So it matches good. And here it is now. The surgery is done,
00:22but this next stage is where the battle really begins.
00:25Day one, two, three was the worst. I could not sleep at all in the hospital. I couldn't relax in
00:33there. I had to be on a liquid diet for two months, so I only consumed soup and like really soft foods
00:42that I didn't need to chew. I'm currently day four post-op. After being bullied for her jaw growing
00:51up, she's hoping this surgery will give her the smile of her dreams.
00:54Obviously, my face is really, really swollen right now, and it will be for a while,
01:01and I'm having a little bit of struggle to talk. But it's definitely better now than it was
01:10a few days ago. So that has improved a little bit. Also, I'm drooling a lot because I don't have
01:20any feeling here or here. Just uncomfortable, really uncomfortable because I'm so swollen.
01:30And they kept my mouth open for so long, so it's, they're really dry and small roots.
01:39As the days go by, her swelling begins to subside. But there's been some strange side effects she
01:46wasn't expecting. After like the first week or two, it started getting better. And I noticed the
01:52difference every day with the swelling and feeling. And when I woke up from the surgery,
01:56it was numb all the way here, and my bottom lip and chin. And now I'm only numb like in the middle
02:04of the chin and lip. But I'm starting to get the sensation back here. In most cases, the sensation
02:11will come back. Maybe not 100%, but like most of the sensation will come back. And it's such a weird
02:19feeling when it's coming back. Like it's tingly and it kind of itches. And it doesn't help to like
02:25scratch here because the sensation isn't like fully back. So it just feels weird and it doesn't really
02:30do anything. Her results just keep getting better and better. And after a long wait, at eight weeks
02:37post-op, she's finally allowed to chew solid food again. I'm glad it's over. I can finally chew again.
02:45It feels amazing. But there's still one last thing needed to perfect her new smile.
02:50At five months post-op, her braces are able to be removed. And at last, she has the smile she's
02:58always dreamed of.
