00:00Do you really believe that Tiafimo Lopez is trash?
00:03No, not at all. Not at all. Tiafimo is a good fighter.
00:07You know, he's very talented. He's very athletic.
00:10You know, he's always rose to the occasion in these big moments like this,
00:14but Shakur is just on a whole nother level, and this Saturday he's going to prove it.
00:21I think this could be the first time that Shakur Stevenson has somebody
00:27who can match him with athletic ability.
00:30Pure ability. Pure speed, quickness, quick twitch, athletic ability that can match him.
00:42That I think Tiafimo has the speed, the legs, the quickness, and he's got pop too with it.
00:50Where he could possibly, I know this sounds ridiculous,
00:55but he could possibly match, and maybe even he would have to outmatch him to win.
01:03He'd have to be that good, but maybe match Shakur boxing
01:09and pull off what would be an upset.
01:15Two days ago, the fight between Stevenson and Lopez?
01:19Great fight.
01:19What fight? Who wins her?
01:21Lopez.
01:26Is that a nice Stevenson?
01:27You know, Stevenson, because a lot of people are going to say that.
01:29But people are going to say that.
01:31Lopez is a very good fighter.
01:33I've trained with him.
01:34I've read him on the part.
01:35He bangs hard.
01:36He's a good all-round boxer.
01:37Slick.
01:39A lot of people don't give him the credit for how good of a boxer he is.
01:42Boxing pros are giving their final predictions for Shakur Stevenson versus Teofimo Lopez.
01:49Calling it a highly interesting and competitive matchup, experts believe Shakur's sharp defense
01:54and speed will test Teofimo's power and aggression.
01:57I think it's going to be a very, very, very interesting fight with a lot of X-Factors, a lot of intangibles, you know, a lot of stuff floating around.
02:15Many expect a tactical battle that could go the distance and excite fans.
02:37So this is a fight that people get, because you've got two different styles.
02:39You've got an offensive, defensive in Lopez and you've got a defensive in Shakur.
02:48It's going to see who's going to win.
02:49Is there any way of beating, because at the moment, Shakur's going to beat him.
02:52No one's really giving him that hard.
02:54We've not really seen him in the deep end.
02:56But it's going to be a good fight to see that can Lopez put him in the deep end.
03:00I think he can and I think he has the power and the technique to even beat him.
03:05Former world champion Amir Khan has picked Teofimo Lopez to win, saying Teo has the skills and confidence to outbox Shakur Stevenson.
03:14Khan believes Lopez's speed, sharp combinations and ring IQ could trouble Shakur.
03:19Lopez.
03:20It's not a nice team.
03:21You know, Stevenson, a lot of people are going to say...
03:24Lopez is a very good fighter.
03:28Brock trained with him.
03:29I've heard about the party.
03:30Bangs hard.
03:31He's a good all-win boxer.
03:32Slick.
03:32A lot of people don't give him the credit for how good of a boxer he is.
03:37Look, he's the type of guy I know about Lopez is that when he has to turn it up, he turns it up.
03:42And I think with someone like Shakur, he will have to turn it up big time.
03:46And obviously, Shakur, we've not really seen him in the deep end.
03:48Well, that's what I'm saying.
03:50I think that toughness is there with Shakur.
03:52And if it is there, which I believe it is, because I think it's a fantastic fight.
03:55It's one of them that we're all going to have an opinion on who's going to win, but nonetheless, we know, because it's one of the best fights.
04:01The best, the best in it.
04:02Yeah, but yeah.
04:03Think about it.
04:04Look at Lopez.
04:05He's fought like someone.
04:06And I'm a chain cook.
04:08He's beaten great names on the way, man.
04:09And I look good against them as well.
04:11Maybe his last fight wasn't the best.
04:13It always made it a little bit tougher, harder than it looked.
04:15But he's always performed at the highest level when he needed to perform.
04:19Recently retired, pound-for-pound boxer, Terrence Crawford has picked Shakur Stevenson to win the big fight, saying Shakur is on a whole other level compared to many of the fighters Lopez has faced recently, and expects him to outclass Teofimo on fight night.
04:33Do you think this will look aesthetically?
04:35Obviously, in the last fight, Shakur stood his ground a little bit more against William Cepeda.
04:39You don't expect him to do that against Teo, do you?
04:41To be honest, I think he's going to do a little bit of everything.
04:44You know, I think we're going to see the best Shakur Stevenson come Saturday.
04:47And I just feel like, you know, it's going to be too much.
04:50But Teofimo's done well against Southpaws.
04:54Josh Taylor, Lomachenko, we got the Southpaw here.
04:57You're a Southpaw as well.
04:59Do you think Teofimo just has something that other fighters don't have against left-handers, or do you just think that Shakur's different level of a sniper or a Southpaw?
05:07Well, it's a little bit of both.
05:08You know, Teofimo has done real well against Southpaws, but Shakur has done real well against Orthodox fighters.
05:15Shakur is not the average Southpaw that Teofimo has been fighting.
05:20You know, so that's why I say Shakur is levels above those fighters that he's been fighting lately.
05:26And that's the reason he's a favorite coming into this fight.
05:29He also advised him to be himself ahead of the big fight.
05:32Crawford said Shakur is on another level and encouraged him to treat the bout like another day in the office, reminding him there's no need to overthink because he knows what he's capable of.
05:41You fought at the highest level of the sport, right?
05:43You just defeated Canelo Alvarez in front of 70,000 plus, and you've been a big mentor to Shakur Stevenson.
05:48I give you a lot of credit for that.
05:49What advice have you given him as he goes into the biggest fight of his career?
05:52Oh, man, just be yourself.
05:54You know, hey, this is another day in the office, another walk in the park.
05:59You know, there's no reason to put a lot of pressure on yourself because you know what you're capable of.
06:05With the self-belief in yourself, you can do whatever you want in there, and that's what he's gonna do come Saturday.
06:10Even though Shakur is a big favorite, legendary trainer and analyst, Teddy Atlas believes Teofimo Lopez can beat him, but only if Teo is mentally locked in and ready for war.
06:20Atlas says Lopez's mindset has fluctuated in past fights, and if he brings full focus and confidence, he has the tools to challenge Shakur and even pull off an upset.
06:29It starts for me with Teofimo, where it starts is, where is he mentally?
06:39He's up and down.
06:40You know, his father, the whole thing, his father's been with him the whole career.
06:44Listen, love him, hate him.
06:46His father has been part of getting him to these world titles.
06:49He's been part of it.
06:51Whatever.
06:52He has been up and down mentally.
06:55Where is he gonna be?
06:56If he's right, if he's stable, if he's in a good place, he seemed to be in a very good place when he fought Lomachenko.
07:05If he's in a good place, I think this could be the first time that Shakur Stevenson has somebody who can match him with athletic abilities.
07:18Atlas claims Teo is the only fighter who can force Stevenson out of his comfort zone.
07:23He believes Lopez's athleticism and pressure might disrupt Shakur's usual range control and make this fight truly competitive.
07:30Pure ability, pure speed, quickness, quick twitch, athletic ability that can match him
07:40and could actually turn the tables in a way where he could force Shakur out of his comfort zone
07:54to maybe do something, say he doesn't want to do, that he's not as comfortable doing.
08:00Legendary former heavyweight champ Shannon Briggs says the Teofimo Lopez versus Shakur Stevenson fight
08:05could end in a draw with each winning about six rounds.
08:09Briggs sees it as a tight technical battle where both fighters have skills but lack huge knockout power.
08:15What does Shakur have to do to win?
08:17What does Teo have to do to win?
08:18It's going to be a real technical fight.
08:20I think both of them got tremendous punches, so I'm looking at a 6-6, six rounds each, you know what I'm saying,
08:26on a close decision.
08:27It's a victim.
08:28They both got skills.
08:29What are the rounds that Teofimo wins?
08:32What do those rounds look like?
08:34Like with his style against Shakur, how does he win the rounds against Shakur?
08:38Staying busy and Shakur, keeping Shakur defensive.
08:41If Shakur shows up and he don't let his hands go, then Teo get an advantage.
08:46But if Shakur starts fast and they both go round for round, round for round, that's why
08:50I'm saying it's a 6-6 because I think they're going to go round for round.
08:54And you think, so for Shakur, he needs to kind of pick a spot, box, is that kind of how you
08:59see Shakur winning rounds?
09:00I think Shakur got to be busy and the busiest man going to win.
09:05You know what I'm saying?
09:06I think it's going to be like a back and forth.
09:08Counter man, he's going to counter, he's going to counter.
09:09So, who can keep countering and who's going to get tired first?
09:13This is a big one.
09:13I mean, this is like one of those where you don't know, right?
09:15Like the styles are going to play out how they do.
09:17It's a pick-em.
09:17That's what I'm saying.
09:18He's going to go back and forth until one of them say, yo, I got to take it to over
09:21the mountain.
09:22You know what I'm saying?
09:23British welterweight boxer, Conor Benn, known for his aggressive style and big ambitions,
09:28says he wants Teofimo to beat Shakur because he believes Teo's skill, versatility,
09:33and proven track record make him a dangerous and exciting fighter.
09:36It was good.
09:37Yeah?
09:37It was good.
09:38Who are you failing on Saturday night?
09:40I hope Teo does it.
09:41I think Shakur will win.
09:43But I hope Teo does it.
09:44And I think Teo can.
09:45If anyone could do it, it would be Teo.
09:46Why would it be Teo?
09:47He's explosive.
09:48He's unorthodox.
09:49He's tricky.
09:51And he's a savage.
09:53What do you think about Shakur talking about Teofimo's dad?
09:56That he was on drugs and that he was drunk.
09:58What do you think about all that?
09:59He was just having a good time.
10:01Let the man live.
10:03Let him live, bro.
10:04In contrast, veteran boxer and analyst Gabriel Rosado is backing Shakur Stevenson to beat
10:11Teofimo Lopez in their high-stakes clash.
10:14Rosado explained that while both fighters are highly skilled and capable of winning,
10:18he believes Shakur's technical edge and ring IQ give him the advantage if Stevenson can shake
10:23Lopez's confidence early and dictate the pace.
10:27Rosado noted that Teofimo is dangerous and unpredictable.
10:30And if Lopez gets comfortable and confident, the fight could become very close or even end
10:35in a draw.
10:36But his lean is towards Stevenson winning on points with smart boxing and precision.
10:41Rosado emphasized that this isn't a one-sided matchup.
10:44Both fighters possess elite skills.
10:46But if Stevenson executes his game plan and keeps Lopez guessing, he should come out on top.
10:51I hate Shakur in this one.
10:52And I mean, I think Teofimo is a phenomenal fighter.
10:56He's a great fighter.
10:57But Teofimo, to me, is more like he has those athletic skills that you don't teach.
11:03You know what I'm saying?
11:04Who's the oldest Teofimo?
11:05Yeah, I think Lopez as well.
11:07No, it comes to him naturally.
11:09But I think that's what's going to nip him in the ass against Shakur.
11:12Right.
11:12Because Shakur is fundamentally sound.
11:14Correct.
11:15So when a guy that has this athletic ability and does things that are not fundamentally sound
11:20and fights a guy that's seasoned like a Shakur, he's going to make you play.
11:24And that's just how I see it.
11:25I think it's a great matchup.
11:27But I just favor it.
11:27Now, Shakur is like Floyd in this way.
11:30Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:30He's like Floyd in this way.
11:31Everyone's able to do the boxing IQ, the defense, whatever.
11:34And Shakur's a southpaw.
11:35But he makes fewer mistakes than the other guys.
11:39Which is really what Floyd did.
11:40He was like a football team that never turns the ball over.
11:43Like if you need to throw the ball away, throw it away.
11:48Waste that down.
11:49Right.
11:49But don't turn it over.
11:50Former world champion Amir Khan has defended Stevenson against the criticism over his style
11:55and public perception while previewing the Teofimo Lopez fight.
11:59Khan acknowledges that some boxing fans and analysts question Stevenson's approach,
12:04particularly the way he controls distance and prioritizes defense.
12:08But he's urged critics to respect Shakur's skill set rather than dismiss it outright.
12:12Khan believes Stevenson's technical mastery and boxing IQ are legitimate strengths,
12:17even if they don't always translate into a fan-friendly brawl.
12:20And he's reminded people that elite boxing is as much about precision and ring craft as it is about
12:25big punches.
12:26Now, with Shakur, he's going to have to perform.
12:28He knows that this is the mega fight that he...
12:31But I think Shakur seems a little bit more relaxed and calm.
12:33Like, he's going to win this fight.
12:34He's going to be a walk in the park for him.
12:36But I think...
12:36I know one thing about Lopez is that he always pulls off a...
12:39You know, the great thing about this conversation is that we're just having now,
12:42one of us is going to be right.
12:43And it's like, you know...
12:45I'm worried.
12:46Don't put no bets on it.
12:48One of us is going to get...
12:49What do you think about the criticism that Shakur gets?
12:51Like, people say that he's boring.
12:54He's not entertaining.
12:54He's like an Andre Ward style.
12:57Andre Ward class fighter.
12:59Wasn't really that entertaining, but got the win.
13:03I mean, that's what boxing is all about.
13:05It's all about...
13:05Mayweather had a slight, you know, era or of that wrapped around him as well.
13:10Like, you know, them full of boxing purists.
13:12Like, the purists are hard for boxing.
13:14I'm going to look at it and appreciate these little movements
13:16and the genius stuff that they do in the ring.
13:19Checking it.
13:19Maybe that...
13:20Componations.
13:21Maybe that sort of, like, more casual fan would look at it and not appreciate it.
13:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:26I'm saying, you've got to be a boxing...
13:28Yeah, you've got to be a hardcore boxing fan.
13:30I used to love watching Andre Ward fight because he was so punch perfect.
13:32I watched his footwork, how he moved to the right, to the left.
13:35And I trained with him as well, with Virgil.
13:37And I used to watch how he trained and how he fought.
13:38And I thought, how he puts his hands there and uses it as a defence.
13:42And then pulls your hands there and catches you over the top.
13:44And then little things.
13:45I look boring, but to a boxing fan and an ex-boxer or a boxer,
13:50you just go, wow, be like, wow.
13:52So this is a fight that...
13:53After retaining his IBF lightweight title with a tough majority decision win
13:57over Cuban Olympic gold medalist Andy Cruz,
14:00Raymond Muratala made it clear he's aiming even higher next in his career.
14:04Muratala said that he wants the winner of the Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson fight,
14:09signalling that he's ready to step up and challenge one of boxing's top elite fighters
14:13once that massive showdown is settled.
14:15Muratala's comments show his ambition to move beyond defenses
14:18and go after the most meaningful, high-profile bouts available.
14:22You know, we're hearing Eddie's told us that it sounds like you're moving up to 140.
14:27Is that true?
14:27And is there anybody you want in that division?
14:30I would like the winner of Teo and Shakur next week.
14:32I'd love the winner of that.
14:34If Shakur is going to drop back down to 35, can you make that fight happen at 35?
14:38Does it have to happen at 40?
14:39We'll make that happen, too.
14:41Whatever, whoever wins, whatever weight they want to fight at, I'm there.
14:45Would you be willing to go to New York City to watch that fight
14:47and call out either one next week?
14:48I'm calling them out now.
14:50I'm not going out there.
14:51I'm telling you right now.
14:53What is that?
14:53You know, obviously, you just got done winning this fight,
14:56but what do you think that fight would look like in the ring?
14:58You and Shakur, if he's the one who wins,
15:00and I guess Tiafemo, too, if he's the one who wins.
15:02Yeah, I mean, both those fights are great fights.
15:05I think boxing would love that.
15:08And that's sad.
15:08I think it would be a tremendous fight with either one.
15:11Teddy Atlas believes that Shakur Stevenson
15:13finally answered his critics with his performance against William Zepeda,
15:17showing more offensive engagement while still using elite boxing skills.
15:21Atlas pointed out that before that fight,
15:22many fans and pundits praised Stevenson's technical ability
15:25but criticized him for being too defensive
15:28and not offering enough exciting exchanges.
15:30In the Zepeda fight, Stevenson mixed offense with defense more effectively,
15:34stepping in, throwing meaningful punches,
15:36and standing his ground instead of constantly moving away,
15:39which satisfied many of the concerns people had about his style.
15:43Atlas said that this blend of skillful boxing and willingness to engage
15:47pleased critics who wanted a more compelling performance,
15:50and it helped shift some perceptions about Stevenson's fighting style.
15:53That stronger showing is part of why many experts now see Stevenson
15:57as a more complete and convincing performer heading into his big fight with Teofimo Lopez.
16:02He finally did what people wanted, this young, talented, brilliant talent,
16:07brilliant defensive fighter, brilliant guy in control and range,
16:12Olympic silver medalist, quick hands, technically solid.
16:18He finally satisfied the critics, and he mixed offense with the defense.
16:24He sat down, and instead of moving all the time and punching on the move
16:31or on the drawback or traps, you know, you come in five inches, he goes back seven,
16:38and he counters the crap out of you.
16:39He stood his ground, and he punched, and he still got the better of it with the sweet science,
16:49being defensively responsible, but without having to be less entertaining.
16:57He was more entertaining.
16:59He satisfied people.
17:00He made people, they said, that's what we wanted in Shakur, and they got it.
17:07Now, he's a big favorite or a good favorite.
17:11You know the line's better than me, but he's a good favorite.
17:14Three to one, over three to one favorite, Shakur.
17:17He's a big favorite.
17:18Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez bring distinctly different styles to the ring,
17:23making their matchup especially intriguing.
17:25It's a very important fight in the sport of boxing,
17:28and what I mean is the best versus the best.
17:31In their prime, something that needs to be normalized throughout the sport.
17:35Now, the matchup itself is a bit tricky.
17:37You have two guys with great boxing IQ,
17:40one super defensively responsible in Shakur Stevenson.
17:43The other, Teofimo's also super defensively responsible,
17:46but they fight in very different ways.
17:48Teo's more loose, relaxed, a bit unorthodox.
17:51Shakur uses his eyes and his defense to offense very well,
17:55and both guys are able to control a fight.
17:57But I think there's a key difference here between what can happen and what will,
18:02in my opinion.
18:03Stevenson is known for elite technical brilliance,
18:06exceptional distance control, and defensive mastery.
18:09He uses footwork, movement, feints, and precise counters to avoid damage and score consistently,
18:15often dictating the pace without needing heavy power.
18:18His approach is methodical and chess-like,
18:21fencing from the outside rather than engaging in wild exchanges.
18:24You know what it is with Shakur?
18:26This is why it's so hard to pick against him.
18:28Fundamentally, he is almost flawless in terms of what he does with his eyes,
18:33how it relates to how he defends,
18:35how he controls you with the jab,
18:38and then how he does counter you,
18:39even if it is mostly point countering.
18:41Like, his knockout power isn't the best.
18:43We know this.
18:44We know he's had trouble with his hands,
18:45but he's moving up to 140 pounds.
18:47Maybe that size and, you know,
18:49him putting on a bit more muscle or a bit more strength
18:53could potentially have an effect here at 140.
18:55I don't know that it will.
18:56I'm just saying it may.
18:58It's so hard to break that defense.
19:01That's what it is.
19:02It's hard to break that defense.
19:03By contrast, Lopez fights with explosive bursts,
19:06creativity, and athletic aggression,
19:08relying on power punches,
19:10especially his right hand,
19:12and sudden combination attacks to break opponent's rhythm.
19:15He thrives when he can close the distance
19:17and force tighter exchanges,
19:18shifting between offensive pressure and sharp counters.
19:21Lopez's style is less consistent in volume than Stevenson's,
19:25but his moments of high-impact offense
19:27can be essential during the fight.
19:29Oh my god.
19:30There might not be a more explosive fighter.
19:33I don't want to say explosive puncher,
19:34but explosive fighter,
19:35fast twitch fighter at 140 pounds right now than Tiafimo Lopez.
19:39That guy, this dude just,
19:41he has such a quick twitch ability,
19:43and being able to pair that with cardiovascular endurance
19:46is something you don't see a lot,
19:48but he is very, very tricky, very sneaky.
19:51You even see it there,
19:51some of the stuff where he's just slick,
19:53hands are down,
19:54but he's moving his head,
19:55bang, into the uppercut.
19:56Move his head, bang, back into the left hook.
19:58Tio is make you miss, make you pay,
20:01where Shakur will make you miss,
20:03and sometimes make you pay,
20:04but the power, the speed, the reactivity of it,
20:07none of it is the same level of velocity as Tio brings to it.
20:11Tiofimo Lopez's father, Tio Sr.,
20:14has been outspoken in the buildup to his son's clash with Shakur Stevenson,
20:18claiming that Shakur hasn't really fought any good fighters in his professional career.
20:22According to Tio Sr.,
20:24Stevenson's resume lacks marquee names with true championship pedigree,
20:28and he's used that line to dismiss talk of this being a 50-50 fight,
20:32saying that calling it even is worse,
20:34because in his view,
20:35Shakur hasn't proven himself against top-tier competition.
20:38Tio Sr. argues that his son's victories over respected opponents,
20:42like Vasily Lomachenko and Josh Taylor,
20:45make Tiofimo the more tested and legitimate contender,
20:48and that Stevenson's past opponents simply don't compare.
20:51That's been part of the Lopez camp's strategy to frame the fight
20:55as a chance for Tiofimo to prove he's the more battle-hardened and accomplished fighter.
20:59The worst thing in this fight is a 50-50 fight.
21:04This is the worst.
21:07But it's not a 40-60 fight.
21:10Man, what the hell are they talking about?
21:12Who has Shakur fought?
21:15Name me one guy.
21:17Come on.
21:18Well, all you can really say is Oscar Valdez.
21:20Oscar Valdez?
21:21I don't see you.
21:22They need to get knocked the f*** out by Scheldt or something?
21:29Bad.
21:31Come on.
21:32Tio's got a way down.
21:33You don't have, listen, let me tell you something about boxing.
21:36Once you get knocked out,
21:38or get knocked down,
21:40like Devin Haney did,
21:42like Oscar Valdez did,
21:46the confidence levels never come back.
21:48At the official weigh-in,
21:49Shakur Stevenson played mind games with Tiofimo Lopez Sr.,
21:53poking fun at his earlier comments and suggesting Lopez's camp was rattled.
21:57Stevenson confidently said he will beat Tiofimo Lopez on fight night,
22:02insisting he's the better boxer and prepared to prove it in front of the world.
22:05He made it clear that he chose Lopez because he wants the challenge,
22:09not to avoid risk,
22:10and stressed that beating a fighter like Tio will solidify his legacy at 140 pounds.
22:15Y'all got one more day.
22:19Y'all got one more day.
22:22Oh, good-ass nigga.
22:24Y'all people got to f*** kill my ass.

22:33Look like we got to you.
22:35It look like we got to you.
22:38It look like we got to you, nigga.
22:39You better give it to me.
22:45You better give it to me.
22:48Miss weight.
22:51Ever.
22:53You have never, ever missed weight.
22:55You lost, though.
22:57Yeah, I lost my ass.
22:59You lost.
23:00I lost my ass.
23:01You lost.
23:02Never, Lord.
23:04I wish all of y'all that fell with my son with a f***ing was feeling that day.
23:08Yo, you and your son is one of the time.
23:11So that means your son lost when your son loses.
23:15Yo, he don't f***ing bosa.
23:16He the cloud and he the acrobat.
23:19Will Stevenson's sharp technical boxing and range control be too much for Tiofemo's power and aggression?
23:25Or will Lopez shock the world with a big upset?
