The Curse Of Oak Island Season 13 Episode 13
Transcript
00:01Tonight, on the Curse of Oak Island.
00:04It was designed to hide something.
00:05I want to pick it up and see what's under there.
00:07Well, this could get interesting.
00:09It looks like a road towards where the vault is.
00:11Yeah.
00:12You got something in here.
00:13Look, it's all through it.
00:15This is very, very important.
00:16It may be the thing.
00:17We've frozen something interesting.
00:19We could be closer than we've ever been.
00:22Amen.
00:25There is an island
00:27that have been looking for an incredible treasure
00:30for more than 200 years.
00:32So far, they have found a stone slab,
00:36workings that date to medieval times,
00:39and a lead cross whose origin
00:42may be connected to the Knights Templar
00:45to solve the mystery.
00:47And, according to legend,
00:50one more will have to die
00:53before the treasure
00:54Wow.
01:04Hi.
01:05How are we all doing?
01:06We're doing great.
01:07It looks like the booby trap
01:09in the Indiana Jones movies, doesn't it?
01:11Yeah.
01:12Skyland, Rick, and Marty Lagina,
01:14and their partner Craig Tester
01:16join other members of the team
01:18on Lot 8
01:19to continue to investigate
01:21massive boulder that sets above a series
01:23of smaller, evenly spaced stones
01:26that strongly suggest
01:28it is not a natural formation.
01:30Excavated that goes well below the bottom
01:32of the boulder
01:33that was filled with rubble
01:35that's all over there.
01:36You dug all that out from under there?
01:38Yes.
01:39Look at this.
01:40We just don't know when, why, and who.
01:43Okay.
01:44Yeah.
01:45There was actually voids underneath the rock.
01:47We had a camera in.
01:49In recent weeks,
01:50the team has found links of a chain
01:52that could be 500 years old,
01:55as well as a potential feature.
01:58I'll show you there's a really good spot.
02:00All right.
02:01And after feeding a snake camera
02:03into a small void,
02:05that was discovered only a possible iron spike,
02:08but perhaps evidence of treasure.
02:11Oh, my God.
02:12That looks like there's a pearl.
02:13Yeah.
02:15The trench you see,
02:16it's a trench that was made by somebody.
02:18Sure.
02:19So, somebody was trying to get,
02:22and probably did get,
02:23underneath the...
02:24What about it's a plug?
02:26It's a plug.
02:27It's designed to hide something.
02:29I think it is covering something,
02:31some sort of cavity or something,
02:33in my opinion.
02:34That's more exciting.
02:36I mean, somebody tunneling underneath it
02:38could have just been a searcher.
02:39Somebody plugging something
02:41wasn't a searcher.
02:42You can see the soil stains
02:44on the bottom of those two big rocks there.
02:46That's an indication that these rocks
02:48have been sitting in that soil
02:49for a long period of time.
02:50Right.
02:51The lot ate boulder.
02:53It's the thing we weren't anticipating.
02:55And it's very exciting,
02:56because 100% of data said it was moved there.
03:01We are quite sure.
03:03Nobody in the searcher record
03:05ever said anything about this boulder.
03:09Is it possible that those rocks
03:11could be excavated rocks from a tunnel, say?
03:15Could be, right?
03:17What's the archeological rules?
03:19I mean, I just come right out and say it.
03:20I want to pick it up and see what's underneath it.
03:22We heard that.
03:23Yeah, no, for sure.
03:24I mean, and nothing I've seen here
03:26makes me not one.
03:27I think our job is to determine significance.
03:30Yeah.
03:31Well, I'm with you.
03:32What would be wrong with plopping,
03:34picking that straight up and then on?
03:36Let's say there is something significant.
03:38Let's say.
03:39The most effective way, unfortunately,
03:42is to excavate it by hand along that edge.
03:46Well, you can do that with it out of there.
03:49Seriously.
03:50You have to remember, you know,
03:53archeologically, and we do some harm.
03:55We cannot put it back.
03:57I would prefer the archeologists to do as much work
04:01as they deem this the stability of a lift.
04:04When would you call it done?
04:07I would, I think, safely,
04:09we can only take one other side down,
04:11I would think, underneath.
04:13Yeah, exactly.
04:15One thing that's limiting us are the,
04:17are these three boulders.
04:19Yeah.
04:20Because you're not going to move those without one,
04:22are you?
04:23To continue this safely, those have to go
04:25so we can have more room.
04:27Yeah.
04:28But you're fine with us bringing an ex.
04:30Yeah, of course.
04:31Don't let my impatience give you the wrong message,
04:34because I am impatient,
04:35but this is exciting.
04:37This is really cool.
04:38Yeah.
04:39The sooner we can do all of this.
04:41So get back to work.
04:42Get busy, eh?
04:43What'd you guess?
04:44Jeez.
04:45As the investigation of the large boulder on.
04:48Looks like we have a cord, gentlemen.
04:50Thanks, Lee.
04:51No problem.
04:52Okay.
04:53Okay, guys, here it is.
04:55H.5-9.
04:57In the Money Pit area,
04:59Terry Matheson,
05:00Charles Barkhouse,
05:01and Steve Guptill
05:02are overseeing a new cord drilling operation.
05:06Yeah.
05:07Just gypsum, gentlemen.
05:08Solid gypsum all the way down to 178.
05:10Yep.
05:11Right into the bedrock plateau.
05:12Yeah.
05:13As we drill down off tons,
05:15there's a gypsum ledge.
05:16And then we'll push below it
05:18into loose, slushy areas,
05:20which we hope the treasure has fallen into.
05:23What lies beneath this foot or two?
05:24Yep.
05:25Yep.
05:26After drilling several boreholes,
05:28some 50 feet northeast,
05:30in the so-called Peacock,
05:32and collect precious metals,
05:34the team is returning to an area
05:36where previous water testing
05:38has yielded high traces of silver and gold
05:41over 200.
05:42I have high hopes for this one
05:43because it's very close to where we were before,
05:46H.5-8.5,
05:48where we found that piece of a drill,
05:50right from the 18th.
05:51While waiting for results of the soil tests
05:54from the Peacock,
05:55the team is once again drilling in an area
05:58where several weeks ago
06:00may be connected to a critical searcher operation
06:03from 1849.
06:05One in which a drilling foreman
06:07named James Pitplato for coin
06:10related to the Order of Christ,
06:12a Portuguese sect of the Knights Templar.
06:15Looks like we have a core, Terry.
06:17We gotta come in there.
06:18So precious and other metals
06:19is still in the money pit.
06:21It's consistent with the pit blade
06:22or discovery.
06:23Hey, Clay.
06:24No problem.
06:25So, guys, they pushed all the way from here.
06:27They pushed into relatively soft material.
06:29Let's see just how soft.
06:30Let's carve it up.
06:32Yeah, this is nicely soft.
06:35That's one of the deeper portions
06:37of the solution channel here.
06:38Yeah.
06:39Charles, I think you can have at it if you like.
06:44Unfortunately, gentlemen,
06:45I know you gotta leave, Steve,
06:47but we'll go through the core
06:48and hopefully get some more results for you.
06:50Thank you, fellas.
06:51See you later, Steve.
06:52Yeah, see you, Steve.
06:53Here it comes.
06:54210 to 218.
06:55210 to 218.
06:58Not a problem.
06:59This is the bottom.
07:02So when you're down that deep,
07:04you're over 200 feet.
07:05Anywhere where you might encounter the treasure,
07:07that's where we have to keep our eyes peeled.
07:09Thank you, ladies, fellas.
07:11But as far as I'm concerned,
07:12I'm touching that treasure beyond all imagining,
07:14deep in the heart of the money pit.
07:18It's a little more promising,
07:19but not the open...
07:23I'm gonna go over this.
07:24Something might get driven down, you know?
07:27Here we go.
07:28Okay.
07:30Whoa.
07:31We got something in here.
07:37I'm getting a metal hit in here, Jerry.
07:38Excellent.
07:43Whoa.
07:44We got something in here.
07:48Table?
07:49Yeah, let's.
07:50Let's do that.
07:51In the money pit area...
07:52You ready?
07:53This is relatively precious cargo.
07:54Here we go.
07:55After reaching a depth of 200...
07:57...miss previously detected silver and gold
07:59in the solution channel.
08:01Jerry, wouldn't it be nice to get a silver coin
08:03or something here?
08:04Yeah.
08:05The one thing?
08:06In something made of metal.
08:08I mean, that was ringing as clear as a bell, Charles.
08:10Yeah.
08:13Now nothing.
08:17That is frustrating.
08:18It doesn't make any sense.
08:21You know, I think we should give...
08:22...Kazia a call and come out and...
08:24Yeah.
08:26We could be...
08:27...where Piplato discovered...
08:29...a silver coin...
08:30...on the paw dogger...
08:31...after it was brought up to the surface.
08:33Maybe she'll find...
08:34...something substantial in this core...
08:36...that I missed.
08:37Get her all on the table.
08:38Here we go.
08:41Go that way.
08:42Hold tight.
08:43What do we have?
08:44How are you doing, Katia?
08:46Well, I initially got a hit, right?
08:47Mm-hmm.
08:48We bring it over to this table...
08:49...and I don't get the hit anymore.
08:51Let's see.
08:58Oh.
09:00What is...
09:02I'm gonna try and pinpoint it as well.
09:05Okay.
09:06Because I really like to see what you're seeing...
09:08...with the pinpoint.
09:09To check everything.
09:10But it was right there.
09:11Right there.
09:14...and then we're having a...
09:16What the heck?
09:19It could very well be.
09:20Yeah.
09:22I wasn't even getting that when I brought it over.
09:24No.
09:25I wouldn't be able to tell you what a mall it is.
09:28It's not being...
09:29Right.
09:30...you know...
09:31...fully registered by the detector.
09:32Mm-hmm.
09:33But there is metal in here.
09:35This is loose, but I mean...
09:36Yeah.
09:37Charles, that's great.
09:38Is it possible that the metal traces...
09:41could be related to the evidence of silver and gold...
09:44...that the team is metal?
09:45Oh, look at that.
09:46So you're getting it again, right there.
09:48Wow.
09:51To find out for sure...
09:52...the team will take the court...
09:54Oh, I'm excited.
09:55Yeah.
09:56Thanks for inviting me over, guys.
09:58Thanks for coming in.
10:04Here they come.
10:05Marty prepares to move several large stones...
10:08...away from the massive boulder...
10:10...to help the archeological team dig...
10:13Nice.
10:16You go with the big one first?
10:18Yeah.
10:19Yeah.
10:21I want to make sure that whatever I do...
10:23...I don't dislodge them so they roll down in the hole.
10:30Nice, guys.
10:31Situation.
10:33Oh, look at that.
10:34Oh, nice.
10:35You know, my biggest hope is that we do find...
10:38...something, some sort of artifact...
10:40...to tell us that who was there.
10:45Nice job.
10:46Done.
10:48Yeah, from here, I think the plan really is...
10:50...that we're going to kind of remove some of these rocks here...
10:52...because we know there's some voids between that large rock there...
10:55...and we want to explore those...
10:56...because that was already in situ.
10:58...but that really helped clear that out.
11:01And now we can clear out more material from underneath the boulder.
11:04So we've got to way better investigate that a little further.
11:07Good.
11:08That's all you need for right now?
11:09Yeah.
11:10That was perfect.
11:11This whole thing has been a conundrum.
11:12It's exceptionally odd.
11:14Well, this is...
11:15You guys carry on.
11:20Later that morning...
11:22Let's buy some treasure, boys.
11:24Alan Andrews on Tom's property in the northernmost region of the swamp.
11:29They are following a cobblestone pathway north...
11:32...that is lined with just one year ago...
11:34...led to the discovery of an empty brick and slate vault...
11:38...several yards to the south.
11:40Last year, we found a way that leads to the north end of the swamp...
11:45...but I'm hoping that we can discover another vault this year...
11:50...along the same line.
11:51Yeah.
11:52Okay.
11:53Coming in.
11:54Well, you're down there, Gary.
11:56I think that's a brick right there.
11:58I'll check it out.
11:59A brick or a rock?
12:00This?
12:01Nope.
12:02Nope.
12:03Right there.
12:04Oh, there.
12:05Yeah, that's a brick.
12:06That's way down there as well, isn't it?
12:08Yeah.
12:09Doing way down there.
12:10Yeah.
12:11Looks old.
12:12It does look old.
12:13But we should put it to one side because...
12:18...it's part of the swamp.
12:20And I see other little flaky pieces in the wall.
12:24So there's probably other pieces of brick in the area.
12:27So I'd keep digging?
12:28Yep.
12:29And hopefully we can find a piece of metal that tells us how old this brick is.
12:33That would be great.
12:36And more cobbled.
12:37Well, I'm hoping this leads us to another vault.
12:41We're in for a great day.
12:43What are you seeing, Tom?
12:46Tom, what are you seeing?
12:48Well, I thought I was seeing this cobble again.
12:52And it is.
12:53Mm-hmm.
12:54But when we see the cobble, it's like, is it natural?
12:56Is it not?
12:57But when you can pull a piece of brick out from inside the cobble, somebody...
13:03It's just interesting with cobble here, cobble here, cobble right behind us.
13:08I'm pretty sure we're on a perfect line going...
13:13It's really looking that way.
13:15Maybe we'll discover another vault in this area.
13:21Perfect line going over towards the other side where the vault is.
13:24While excavating in the northernmost region of the Oak Island swamp...
13:28It's just interesting with behind us.
13:30...members of the team have just uncovered another possible section of the cobblestone pathway.
13:36You want to see if Gary metal detects in it?
13:39All right.
13:40See if there's any metals down there.
13:42Okay.
13:43The more time we spend in the swamp and the more mysterious feature of the swamp is a much bigger part of the Oak Island treasure story.
13:54There is all the metal across the cobble area.
14:00No metals.
14:01It's an head-scratcher, all right, isn't it?
14:05I'm just getting with the other cobble.
14:07Yeah.
14:08It's right along the stakes that we're finding.
14:11We found another really tightly packed cobble platform.
14:15Mm-hmm.
14:16You know, we found wood chips in it.
14:18We found cut wood.
14:19And now you've got some brick.
14:21Yeah.
14:22It's nice to see something you know me and put are doing this.
14:25So we have four cobble areas that line up.
14:29It looks like a road or a path, I think.
14:31It really does.
14:32I'm excited to size into something on the other side of the swamp.
14:35Is it possible that the team has found a stone road in the center of the swamp that is related to the others in the western and southwestern regions of the brackish bog?
14:46Yeah.
14:47If so, could it lead the team to a major breakthrough in the 200...
14:51Constructions in the swamp are too numerous for there not to be a relationship between them.
14:56The hope is they are treasure related and the lot eight feature because there is an intent there.
15:03There is an intelligent design, if you will.
15:06I think it would be really good to have steep paint lines up.
15:09Yeah.
15:10Yeah.
15:11I'll just take a little bit off till I feel the cobble and that's all I'll do.
15:15Yeah.
15:16Perfect.
15:17And we'll have to keep a twin optical scan.
15:18Could find anything in here.
15:19Yep.
15:20Keep digging, see if we can find a little more of it.
15:23While the investigation continues in the swamp...
15:27Continue their careful excavation beneath and around the massive boulder on lot eight.
15:34Layered it.
15:35I wanted you to see the hut was into the subsoil itself.
15:39You can see it.
15:41It kind of comes down in a nice slope, very, very clean.
15:47You guys find anything more over there?
15:49Yeah.
15:50I think what we have to look at is, did they excavate that a cradle?
15:55Like a cradle trench type of thing, yeah.
15:57Yeah.
15:58And as impossible as I think it is, did they create that cradle and then put that rock on top?
16:03No.
16:04I think we can say to a degree that we know this was worked by man, not worked by machine.
16:11Why?
16:12Give us the information that we'll need to finally make an informed decision about it all.
16:17So we just need to keep getting after it.
16:19Yeah.
16:20I got some more buckets.
16:33Hey, Laird.
16:34What you think of this?
16:35It definitely has some material or something.
16:36Mm-hmm.
16:37The red part looks like cloth of some sort.
16:38I mean, it all looks shredded.
16:39But do you think the whole thing is a textile of some sort?
16:40Or...
16:41Sure looks like it.
16:42The red material, is that a dye?
16:43Can we...
16:44Red is definitely a dye.
16:45If it's older, it's a natural dye.
16:46Mm-hmm.
16:47I think we have to get that under the microscope.
16:49We may be able to do that.
16:50Okay.
16:51Yeah.
16:52I see this material, and quickly in my mind, I see somebody trying to move these boulders,
16:59and it scrapes, and it's just a little piece left on that larger rock.
17:05If we determine it's old, then it's just a little piece left on that larger rock.
17:11If we determine it's old, then it's just a little piece left on that larger rock.
17:16If we determine it's old, then that's pretty significant.
17:19Okay.
17:20Given the lack of artifacts, I think it's worth bagging that.
17:23Okay.
17:24We know it was under one of the boulders that marked 18 inches below the normal surface and below a boulder.
17:36And it may tell us who was here and when they were here, so I'm excited.
17:41The mouse would have gone into this rock structure after it was made.
17:47Correct.
17:48So this is going to be younger.
17:50Yep.
17:51We know this had to be in place before.
17:53Earlier.
17:54And that could help date it.
17:56Yep.
17:57It'd be exciting.
17:58All right.
17:59Can I bear?
18:00Yep.
18:04As a new morning shines bright on Oak Island.
18:08Okay.
18:09Back rowing.
18:10Yep.
18:11So, you know, I was sifting through the materials and I found that.
18:15You moved the boulder.
18:16It was underneath that.
18:18Really?
18:19Where Emma is analyzing the piece of fabric that was uncovered near the large boulder on Lot 8.
18:25It's the only thing that I know of this one.
18:27So, yeah.
18:28What can you tell us about it?
18:29Yeah.
18:30So I did do a CT scan on it, XRF, the whole shebang.
18:35But this thing.
18:36You can kind of see the design of the knitting or the loops to go inward and then outward.
18:45Style of weft knitting.
18:47Knitting.
18:48Mm-hmm.
18:49So weft knitting is knitting by interlocking strands of loops.
18:54And whether or not it's handmade or early machine made, first glance from the visuals.
19:01I'm not 100% sure.
19:02Ask for the material used.
19:04I would like to do a simple burn test.
19:08Really?
19:09Yeah.
19:10To determine what kind of burnt, how it melts or kind of turns into ash.
19:15We can discern quickly what kind of material it is.
19:19Like, what are we looking for if it's...
19:21And then it kind of turns into a liquid form.
19:24If it's more cotton or linen, it's more ashy of a burn.
19:30From the fire, it snuffs the fire out.
19:33So it doesn't burn.
19:35It just kind of disintegrates.
19:38Wool should kind of burnt texture and then you can crush it.
19:42Okay.
19:44So who would like to be my assistant?
19:46Peter.
19:47I will.
19:48You have a destructive method.
19:49It's one of the most telling methods that could identify or actually cancel out what kind of material that fab term in.
19:58Whether the material is modern or not.
20:01Okay.
20:02You are just going to light it on fire.
20:05Okay.
20:09Whoa.
20:10That's it?
20:11Yeah.
20:12And then I'm going to let it cool.
20:14And then...
20:16And that is wool.
20:17Really?
20:18Wool?
20:19Yeah.
20:20Amazing.
20:21That's interesting because not far away from where the bag seal.
20:25Whoa.
20:26Okay.
20:27Which has a very distinctive sheepskin symbol on it.
20:30And that is associated with the city of Leeds.
20:33Wool products.
20:34Dating back to the 1300s.
20:36Huh.
20:37And this makes it all the more interesting.
20:39Yeah.
20:40Could Laird be related to the potentially 700 year old bag seal that was found just yards from the massive boulder?
20:48If so, might it be created the feature?
20:53What about the red dye?
20:55I know they can date dyes if there's, you know, enough material for you to look at there.
21:00Modern, like, 20th century dyes or chemicals that I'm detecting.
21:04So that's a good sign.
21:06And the red dye is interesting because it was desirable.
21:09The average person would not have red material.
21:12Except the British military, because they were the red coats.
21:15Mm-hmm.
21:16The French military had it.
21:17I guess it was still widely, widely used.
21:20Okay.
21:21Yeah.
21:22What are the next steps?
21:23I think getting an expert into knitting patterns will point towards something more accurate.
21:30Yeah.
21:31Well, that makes sense.
21:32Yeah.
21:33Okay.
21:34Extremely interesting.
21:35Maybe find under that boulder, right?
21:38And actually what we might find under the boulder itself might shed a little light on that.
21:42Yeah.
21:43We've got to dig deeper under it.
21:45Yeah.
21:46Absolutely.
21:47Good job, as always.
21:49Enigmatic, as always.
21:50More things to do, as always.
21:52Let's do them.
21:53Yeah.
21:54The meeting concludes in the lab.
21:57In the Money Pit area.
21:58So J.5, 7.5, this is well underway here.
22:01It's at the southern end of the action.
22:03The deeper areas are.
22:04Yeah.
22:05The team is drilling a new borehole, known as J.5, 7.5.
22:10It is located as borehole, where traces of metal were detected in soils, brought up from
22:16nearly 220 feet deep in the solution channel.
22:20Coming.
22:21Coming.
22:22160 below grade.
22:23We're going to punch through that and go under the ledge that is formed.
22:26We should pop out, you know, in another 10 or 15 feet and into the...
22:30We have a core, gentlemen.
22:31What have you got, Leighton?
22:32Uh, 158, 166.
22:33166.
22:34He's jammed it in there very tight because he's drilling in solid gypsum.
22:37It's a tough one, eh, Leighton?
22:38We're fighting with it.
22:39Yeah.
22:40Looking to get to the base of the solution channel, you have to drill through the ledge.
22:44But here's the thing.
22:45There could be any amount of treasure or artifacts laying underneath that.
22:46Open her up and see what we got.
22:47So we just have, uh, ground up, gypsum, and this is the plug on top.
22:48Charles, I think you might as well do your doodillity.
22:49Okay.
22:50Let's do it.
22:51Let's do it.
22:52This one's just up.
22:53That's how the
22:53door is بنitzed.
22:54We are kind of doing it.
22:55Okay.
22:56Let's go.
22:57And we're up.
22:58Come on, look, let's go.
22:59Let's go.
23:00Let's go, let's go.
23:01Let's go.
23:02Let's go.
23:03Let's go.
23:04Let's go.
23:05Okay.
23:06Let's go.
23:07Let's go.
23:08Okay.
23:09Let's go.
23:10Okay.
23:11Let's go.
23:12Let's go.
23:13Let's go.
23:14You guys.
23:15Let's go.
23:16Let's go.
23:17Let's go.
23:17Let's go.
23:18Let's go.
23:19I'm going to run the pinpointer over it.
23:22I know this is the ledge, but I'm going to...
23:25Nothing so far.
23:38I'm getting a hit right there.
23:40Terry, can you lift that up just to make sure?
23:43No, there's something there.
23:45Oh, wow.
23:49No, there's something there.
23:51Why don't we take this one right over to there?
23:53Okay, let's take it over.
23:54Yep.
23:55In the Money Pit area, after reaching the solution channel at a depth of 107.5...
24:03Yeah, it's right in here.
24:04Right in there.
24:06The Oak Island team is detecting evidence.
24:09This is exciting, and it definitely has to go back to the lab.
24:12Yeah.
24:12Yeah.
24:13Any sample that comes up from the sonic drilling that has indications of analysis
24:18in the hopes that they will reveal a very clear clue as to where the treasure is.
24:24Hey, guys, I'm going to run this back to the lab.
24:27After we get positive results and samples we took,
24:29I want to put down a caisson deep into the solution channel,
24:33and after all these years, we recover it.
24:36Now we're down in the solution channel, so let's keep on going.
24:39All right, guys, I'm going to run.
24:41I will be back, though.
24:42Great start.
24:43See you later, Steve.
24:43Yeah, see you, Steve.
24:44Well, now, Charles, J.5, 7.5 is the most of the reveal of secrets.
24:51Hey, guys.
24:51Hey, Rick.
24:52What did you find?
24:53We're at 181.58 to 160, right, Charles?
24:56Yeah, we had it on the table here, and I ran the pinpointer.
24:59I was getting a chirp.
25:00Oh.
25:00So little flakes of metal or something.
25:03With this car, whether something heavy could have fallen on through it.
25:06Yeah.
25:07You cannot dismiss the fact that this is very hopeful.
25:11Here we go.
25:12Could reflect precious metals.
25:15What's bottom?
25:16It's 183 to 207.
25:19Okay.
25:19The sonic drill program.
25:21But maybe we are on the cusp of finding the treasure.
25:26This is relatively loose.
25:28Yeah.
25:28It's a good sign, though.
25:30So right now, I think maybe it's just the pinpoint, right?
25:33Yep.
25:33Yeah.
25:34Okay.
25:39Rick.
25:41Wow.
25:42Something in there.
25:44Very near the bottom.
25:46Yeah.
25:46I think we should take this whole thing over.
25:47A lot of water tests have already revealed evidence of silver and gold in this area.
25:54Could the repeated positive signs of metal from feet suggest that the team
25:59may be narrowing in on a vast cache of treasure?
26:03Right there.
26:06Look, it's all through it.
26:07This is very, very important.
26:09Maybe more than important, Terry.
26:10It may be the thing.
26:12This warrants taking the whole door.
26:14Yeah, no question.
26:15Does it represent actual treasure in Solution Channel?
26:16Does it represent actual treasure?
26:18I don't know.
26:18That's why it needs to go to the lab.
26:20For weeks, Dr. Spooner has done an analysis of the actual base of the Solution Channel,
26:25including this area.
26:27Dr. Spooner is going to present those results very soon.
26:31So, we're keen to know what we're looking for.
26:34I'm hoping that this will lead to some answers.
26:36This is the potential, for sure.
26:38So, let's bag it up.
26:40Yeah.
26:40Sounds like a plan.
26:43Two days later.
26:46So, ladies, gentlemen, we have Dr. Spooner looking for precious metals from the sonic drill
26:54program this year.
26:55So, we'll turn it over to Dr. Spooner, Emma, and Jillian.
26:59Great.
27:00What we have done is we've taken samples from deep down in the Solution Channel
27:04and processed them for XRF analysis.
27:08Okay.
27:09Over the past two months, across the money pit area in boreholes that reached the Solution Channel...
27:15That does it?
27:16Yep.
27:17Dr. Spooner...
27:18Fluorescence testing, which can identify specific metallic elements that are not natural to the ground soils.
27:25Steve, to bring this up...
27:28Sure.
27:29Yep.
27:31Okay.
27:31The samples that we took were I-9.5, 2.5, 8.75, K-9.5, and then we also did three samples in V3, one of the old...
27:45Interesting information was that I-9.5, which had hits with the pinpointer, that was written on the bag.
27:52And on my XRF, the silver.
27:59That's significant concentrations.
28:02Oh, really?
28:02Really?
28:02Heh.
28:03Heh.
28:06So, I-9.5, and K-9.5, had cysts.
28:12Fantastic.
28:14In the War Room, the team has learned that soil samples collected in at least two boreholes near where there occur traces of silver.
28:22This could be an indication we are actually close to finding the treasure.
28:27Amen.
28:28That's very true, Jack.
28:29There should be everywhere.
28:31Yep.
28:31It's down there deeper.
28:33Yep.
28:33Yep.
28:34And we know there has been collapses.
28:37And no one's really been this deep than we've ever been.
28:40Right.
28:41Yeah.
28:42So, you're talking about pieces of elemental silver, correct?
28:46It would be elemental silver.
28:48But not dissolved?
28:49No.
28:50Absolutely, you're right.
28:51Yeah.
28:52Dr. Spooner does detect elements of silver.
28:56And that's just amazing.
28:59I mean, it strongly implies to me that the source is not natural.
29:03Isn't K-9.5 the deepest?
29:06I believe the end of that hole.
29:07Yeah.
29:08Okay.
29:09You know, what's interesting about the silver, though, is the so-called Piplato coin.
29:14There was silver.
29:15We're really close to H.5-8.5.
29:17We're at about 174 feet.
29:20We found that piece of iron, possibly a drill rod.
29:23Emma data dates to the time of Piplato.
29:26We're starting to piece these little bits together.
29:29Absolutely.
29:31Is it possible that the traces of Portuguese coin?
29:34If so, might it suggest that there were many more in the original money pit, which could have fallen to the bottom?
29:42The deal, from my standpoint, we came to the table with a theory this year that our great treasure fell down into this solution channel.
29:49You know, it seems to be.
29:51And I'll tell you what, Rick, there's enough here already to bring in SBC.
29:55So, Scott, let's set up a meeting with SBC.
29:58Sounds good.
30:00I'll tell you something at depth in the money pit.
30:02That is the culmination of the year.
30:05Yeah.
30:06Yeah.
30:06I'd ask each of you to start thinking about that, where you would like to deepen it.
30:10Any man has ever worked in the money pit on Oak Island?
30:12So, we're going to be pushing the envelope.
30:15Right.
30:16We have plenty to indicate the solution channel.
30:19Plenty.
30:20And we're going to go much deeper this year.
30:22So, it's time to line up SB Canada and Rob, place some canisters down in the solution channel.
30:30So, everyone needs to take a step back, take a deep breath, and be patient.
30:36Clear ahead.
30:36Move this thing forward and try to understand what happened on this island.
30:39So, let's get outside and do it.
30:41Good stuff.
30:42See you, guys.
30:43Thanks, guys.
30:44Simple and determined searching.
30:47The team may be closer than ever to realizing a dream that Rick and Marty have shared since
30:54they planned their most ambitious dig yet to find a legendary vault in the money pit.
31:00Are they on the verge of uncovering others?
31:03No other treasure hunter ever knew that Oak Island was hiding.
31:11Curse of Oak Island.
31:14We found the cobble.
31:15It's headed towards the vault, and it's turning towards La Tate.
31:19There has to be a reason for it.
31:21It's one of the most interesting on the island ever.
31:24If there is a tunnel under there, I want to see what's under that rock.
31:27Yep.
31:29This is weird.
31:30Looks like gold.
31:30Yeah.
31:31Yeah.
