00:00Who thought an American owner would come here and buy our wee club?
00:20We've got 33 players, we don't need to recruit anymore.
00:23What's the opposite of recruitment?
00:25Craig Levine has been sacked by Sam Johnston.
00:30Every minute matters, every fucking minute.
00:35I walked inside our stadium, I smelled the football.
00:44Balakari's honeymoon in Perth is well and truly over.
00:48Loss after loss after loss.
00:50St Johnston are now struggling at the bottom of the table.
00:53Eight points adrift.
00:55We're going through the bowels of McDermott Park.
01:00We're going through the bowels of McDermott Park.
01:15Yep.
01:16All right, morning.
01:19Hey, how you doing?
01:21So, in honor of my return and to get people into the Merton Suite aggressively early, we have suggested that the first ten people get a free beer.
01:34First ten customers are getting a free beer.
01:37And I kindly said, oh, a free beer.
01:39What?
01:40I knew it would be you.
01:41I absolutely knew it would be you that it would be first.
01:46Yes!
01:47Here you go.
01:49Good to see you.
01:50Good to see you.
01:51Good to see you.
01:52Hi, Adam.
01:53Okay, Adam.
01:54All right.
01:55Good to see you.
01:56I heard about you.
01:57Yes.
01:58This is Kerry Webb, my father.
01:59Well, why don't we let Adam pour the first white bar?
02:02Yes.
02:03Whoa.
02:04All right.
02:05Everyone taking notes?
02:06Just taking notes.
02:07There we go.
02:08All right, sir.
02:09Let me pour it.
02:10Let me pour it.
02:11Let me pour it.
02:12Let a pro.
02:13Let a pro do it.
02:14How you doing?
02:15All right.
02:16The final two.
02:17How you doing, Adam Webb?
02:18Good to see you.
02:19Good to see you.
02:20Good to see you.
02:21Good to see you.
02:22Thanks for coming early.
02:23There's been a huge change at the club recently.
02:26I mean, the team we put out in the first day of the season,
02:29there's only one player left.
02:31I know how the football world is and it's also a business.
02:37You can be here today and tomorrow you're on a plane
02:40to some other part of the world.
02:42We decided that we would spend the money and give our coach the resources he needed to make a push to avoid relegation.
03:01We did break the budget, but we did not blow up the budget.
03:08So, Jonathan Svedberg, who's just signed with us on an 18-month deal?
03:14Yeah.
03:1518 months around the season.
03:16Yeah.
03:17Yeah.
03:18We're worried about the Finnish-Swedish rivalry.
03:20Obviously, our coach Simo is a Finn from Finland.
03:23Yeah.
03:24You're the Swede.
03:25Yeah.
03:26How do you feel about the rivalry?
03:27How are you going to deal with that?
03:29I feel like that's fine.
03:30The only thing is, if we go to sauna together, I will beat him.
03:33I want to beat him so badly.
03:35So, to beat somebody, you have to stay longer in the hot sauna.
03:38Yeah.
03:39Because then you go put some water in and then it gets warmer and warmer.
03:42And the one who goes out first is the loser.
03:44And do you have clothes on during this?
03:45No.
03:46Okay.
03:47Okay.
03:48All right.
03:49Okay.
03:50All right.
03:51Okay.
03:54Fred the Red from Manchester United gets £70,000 a year to be Fred the Red.
03:59And then that dinosaur thing that they've got down in Arsenal, £65,000.
04:05That's ridiculous money.
04:08You know, they should be doing it for the good of the club.
04:10That's why I do what I do.
04:11And you get used to it.
04:13Initially, when you put something over your head, you're thinking,
04:15what are you doing?
04:16But no, I really enjoy it now.
04:19But it can get quite smelly quite quickly.
04:24Thanks very much.
04:26Well, thanks for hitting my head.
04:28Boom.
04:29Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
04:32We match the intensity, we match the desire, and the end of the movie we do.
04:36Everything will be good.
04:37Come on, let's go.
04:38Come on, come on.
04:41We love a champion.
04:43And even times get amped up.
04:46If you've got a problem, I'm the answer.
04:49Stand up, everybody hands up.
04:51Come on.
04:53You're like Amigo.
04:56Come on, come on.
04:57Come on, come on.
04:58Come on, come on.
04:59Come on, come on.
05:00Come on, come on.
05:01Come on, come on.
05:02Come on, come on.
05:03Look how slow everybody is getting up here.
05:06Hey!
05:07Get up for that!
05:08Hey!
05:09I'm blanking the new manager, but he's no better right yet, and he's preaching to be violent.
05:22The manager needs to earn his money now.
05:24In the 15 minutes of the half time, the manager really needs to earn his money.
05:28Hey, hey!
05:29Positivity!
05:30That can happen, fucking first attack, and it can hug you, okay?
05:33Hey!
05:34We are doing good.
05:35We are doing good.
05:36Now we just, you know, in a couple of details, a little bit better.
05:39We will be good, okay?
05:40This is the moment now.
05:41We turn this, huh?
05:42We turn this!
05:43I'm gonna stop the fool.
05:50I ain't gonna stop till I fall.
05:52Yeah, I'm gonna stop the fool.
05:55I do his wing, yeah.
05:56I'm gonna stop the fool!
05:58Stop fool!
05:59Stop fool!
06:02I'm gonna stop the fool!
06:04Stop fool!
06:06Stop fool!
06:07Bow,!
06:12Come on!
06:19I just want the final whistle now.
06:24Come on!
06:30Top of the world looking down on the dandy and the...
06:35The emotions were unbelievable.
06:36We were climbing off the ceiling.
06:38We jumped up.
06:39We were hugging each other.
06:40We were kissing everybody around us.
06:42Everybody was the same.
06:43You just couldn't believe it.
06:44And you can't bottle that.
06:45You can't bottle that.
06:49The feeling of elation...
06:52It's the first time I've walked away from there for ages,
06:55for loads of games,
06:57feeling just that good.
07:01Yesterday was utter carnage.
07:03It was, again, classics in Johnston.
07:07Nothing goes our way.
07:08Half-time...
07:11Maybe there was too many drinks involved.
07:14But when it's in the dying last five minutes,
07:16you're thinking there was still one down.
07:24That comeback was unreal.
07:27We needed that.
07:28And it's definitely left the spirits of everyone else as well.
07:31Not very often that Saints pull off something like that.
07:35But yeah, I was on the couch to say the least.
07:39So the whole point of this project that I've got with the gym was...
07:51I'm from North Muirton.
07:53I'm wanting to give back to North Muirton.
07:55North Muir has not got much.
07:58It's your classic scheme of your state.
08:01You've got working class, you've got poverty.
08:05So bringing this to the community is going to benefit so many more people.
08:11As I said, if you don't like football, what else are you going to do?
08:15Set a bin shed on fire?
08:17Like, we laugh about it, but that's what happens.
08:20A lot of our clients at the moment only have a kettle as a cooking facility.
08:30There's lots that can't afford to use a cooker because of the fuel costs at the moment.
08:36St Johnson fans supporting food banks is a massive supporter of ours.
08:40And I'm not just saying that because you guys are from St Johnson.
08:43And I actually feel like my eyes are feeling like they're tearing up a wee bit actually talking about it.
08:47A lot of it, Jane, has got to do with the support that we get from the club.
08:51Oh, absolutely.
08:52Because I think they're second to none in terms of the support throughout the country.
08:58But some of them, you can see them coming across the car park and you have to run to give them a hand
09:02because, you know, their hands are about falling off with the weight of the stuff they're bringing.
09:05It is fantastic.
09:07So, you know, people think Perth is this affluent place.
09:10There's one in four kids in Perth and Kinross that are now living in poverty.
09:13There was a 237% increase in people claiming universal credit.
09:17There's a triangle of deprivation right around McDermott Park.
09:20To see that the team can contribute to this, that we can help by, you know, giving them our resources, time and effort is really fantastic.
09:30Do you pay for the storage?
09:32Yes.
09:33I'm just curious.
09:34That's something to think about because we got a lot of real estate.
09:37You could park a couple of containers.
09:39Well, that would save us several thousand a year.
09:42That would save us.
09:43Let's see if we can do it.
09:44That'd be great.
09:45It's another way for us to help.
09:46I'm thinking how else can we help more?
09:48I've got a list of suggestions, Adam.
09:50A list of different things we could do.
09:52We, as a club, it turns out, are the most giving club in the entire UK to food banks.
10:01And it's not, I'm not saying as it's based on the size of the club, I'm saying the most giving club in all of the UK compared to Premier League clubs, compared to all clubs.
10:10For me, it's very personal.
10:12When I grew up, we had, we hit hard times as a family as well.
10:16And we would go and get free food.
10:19So, yes, you buy a club, you're really worried about, you know, football, but it's such a joy to be able to do these other elements of owning a club.
10:31How are you doing?
10:32How are you?
10:33I'm all right.
10:34You good?
10:35You're good.
10:36You're starting today.
10:37Huh?
10:38You're starting today.
10:39I don't know.
10:40We'll see.
10:41Some of the boys that live in the town have cars, so they can drive easily.
10:46But I think we're like five or six that's maybe taking the bus.
10:50Sometimes there are people on the bus that want to chat with you or they want to have your thought about the game that's coming up and that kind of stuff.
10:56I feel a little bit weird, you know, when we lost the game.
11:01That's weird.
11:03You're angry.
11:05The fans are living for the team, they love the team.
11:07We're in a difficult situation and we're trying our best to keep on improving and get up in the table.
11:14So I think they're very important to us that they come and support us.
11:17Your English is improving though.
11:19It's getting better and better.
11:20It's getting better.
11:21It's getting better.
11:22It's already good.
11:23I'm just quite mad.
11:24Soon it's going to speak like Scottish, full Scottish English.
11:28No, no, no.
11:29You say A all the time.
11:31That's the thing.
11:32Otherwise, shamblers, isn't it?
11:35Is it called shamblers or shambles?
11:38Shambles, right?
11:39Yeah, some of the guys say shambles all the time.
11:41I've never heard it.
11:42So they say it a lot.
11:43Ready?
11:44Thanks.
11:46It's not muddy.
11:48It's community day at McDermott Park.
11:53Live music, family fun and even a pint if you fancy.
11:56Shaves host Aberdeen, can they ride that momentum or fall flat?
12:00Get in early and soak it all up.
12:06So lucky today because it never happened.
12:09This kind of stuff before a game.
12:11So you're the most famous one.
12:14You?
12:15A hundred percent.
12:28What's it going to be today?
12:30I hope so.
12:41One!
12:42Four!
12:55One!
12:59Come on, you're beatens.
13:01You've driven away for three.
13:03Absolutely.
13:04No, no, no.
13:06No, no!
13:11People like to go and watch winning football if we do go down, we might see more people in the
13:15stadium. If you look at some of the clubs in the championship and won city areas, their fan base
13:21is higher than what we're seeing here in our average game. So we can give out free tickets
13:25but that's not what we want to do. We want people to come and support the club and bring in that
13:29revenue. If they come at an age where we can change their mindset away from being a Rangers
13:33or Celtic fan or anything like that and support St Johnston, then that's what we've got to do.
13:41Here we are at our board of directors meeting. So basically summary-wise, income versus
13:47expenditure, £263,000 down on budget at the moment. Primarily because we've spent more on players
13:54than we had budgeted for. So we gave them an extra £250,000 onto there, which was on budgeted for.
14:00Does the cup, recent cup, win? Does that move the needle at all? What was that?
14:05So the initial, if you'd gone out in that round, we'd have got £23,000. If you go out in the next round,
14:10we get £52,000. If we survive Hamilton and go on again, it's £105,000.
14:16So it jumps quite dramatically.
14:18I'm going to get bodies in the middle. I couldn't pick any of them out though. Comes back to Kerry.
14:38He's going to try and he's locked up!
14:41Oh my goodness!
14:45St Johnston have booked a Scottish Cup semi-final with Celtic after edging Livingston.
14:53I mean, look at this.
14:54Oh, magnificent.
14:56So this is what we've got to deal with. Over 60,000 seats. It's thunderous in there. It's full every game.
15:06They're spending 25 times what we're spending on our players. They're making over £50 million so far in Europe this year.
15:16And we've got to play these guys at least three times every season.
15:23And so it's a daunting task.
15:27Little clubs, little clubs in Scotland have to compete against these massive, massive institutions that are in a completely different level.
15:35In America, it would be totally different, right? You'd have a luxury tax or you'd have a salary cap like you do in the NFL.
15:41But here, because of the oddities of this league, St. Johnson, little St. Johnson has got to compete with this massive, massive institution.
15:52It's daunting.
15:54And every once in a blue moon, St. Johnson beats them or draws them.
15:58I mean, even a draw is magnificent.
16:00It's magnificent.
16:05Celtic visits McDermott Park after two hammerings last time out.
16:09But the big talking point is a boycott by some Saints fans over the allocation of tickets.
16:14They're angry that Celtic have been given three of the four stands, limiting their own to just the main stand.
16:20It's a risk on the part of Saints management, but money talks.
16:30So if you can see straight ahead here, next to the floodlight, there's a gap in the fence up here.
16:47So you can see the scoreboard perfectly from there.
16:49And because the FCU decided to boycott over our decision on the Celtic tickets, they were up on that hill setting flares off.
16:56You know, that was the first time in 16 years we've beaten Celtic here.
16:59Some of these kids are only 16-year-old. They've never seen us beat Celtic.
17:02Guess what? They boycotted the game that we beat Celtic and they missed it.
17:07We were in a position where we're coming into an area of unknown, bottom of the league, five points adrift.
17:14We need to make sure that we can, as a business, have cash in the bank through the summer and going on.
17:20At the end of the day, look, we took the three points, we took their money, we're better off in the bank.
17:25We may have upset some supporters, other supporters agreed with what we're doing.
17:32What do you think about when they sold the three stands to Celtic?
17:36I get it, because it's money at the end of the day.
17:41St Johnston haven't got a lot of money.
17:43I think they could have done it in better ways.
17:45If they want to fill our stadium, fill it. We can take the money and the points at the end of the day.
17:50Maybe it was going off, but at the end of the day.
17:53Yeah, it was a good...
17:54Are you getting married at St Macdonald? I hope so.
17:57Definitely.
17:58Yeah, there's nobody else.
18:00Of course, yeah, they do.
18:01On the pitch.
18:02On the pitch.
18:03No.
18:06Yeah.
18:07Have you seen that, Brian? With the Brazilian St Johnston club?
18:16Yeah, talking about junkies. Here's one that's coming in just now.
18:19How's it going, man?
18:21How's it going, man?
18:22How about you?
18:23Good, mate. Good, yeah. Not too bad.
18:25So this is you?
18:26This is the start of the beginning, yeah.
18:29North Merlin's finest, so...
18:31Football obviously makes everyone grow up in football, and everyone loves their team.
18:35Aye.
18:36That's where we and you disagree at times.
18:38Aye, because we've got...
18:39Aye.
18:40I've got my point of view, which is right, and yours is wrong all the time, so...
18:44But I've got my point of view from the club, that's right, and yours is wrong.
18:47Exactly.
18:48I always disagree over the three stands, and...
18:50Don't bring that, that's hurting me.
18:53But no, no, you're totally right. It is a...
18:56Aye.
18:57Aye.
18:58What frustrated me, obviously, over the three stands last week, right, was...
19:02We had the clear-of-the-air talks, we thought we'd got through to you, we thought you understand...
19:06Yeah.
19:07And none of you see the first time we beat Celtic in 16 years.
19:10And they weren't in the stadium, but enjoy it.
19:12Yeah.
19:13Fair enough.
19:14Right, I'll see you in a second.
19:16Aye, okay.
19:18We'll get involved.
19:20What am I doing?
19:21Ready to go.
19:22What am I doing? Just...
19:23I can't do that combo shit.
19:24I was just going to say, I'll go you through this thing easy.
19:26So, one.
19:27One.
19:28One.
19:29Two.
19:30Good.
19:31One, one, two.
19:33Brilliant.
19:34Nine!
19:35Ten!
19:36Can you guys do it up?
19:38Get more people in the stadium.
19:40What I could potentially do is punch enough people in here to get them and forcing them
19:45to watch St John's stand.
19:47Honestly, if we manage to get to the Scottish Cup final and survive relegation, that's...
19:54That's...
19:55That would be unreal.
19:56I'm going to get James.
19:57When I come out, I'll let a speech in front.
19:59No worries.
20:02Let's go!
20:03Nathan, if I was to say I'm really impressed with the gym.
20:06Really impressed.
20:07I think it's really awesome what you're doing in the community.
20:09It's definitely impressed me.
20:11Yeah.
20:12But thank you.
20:13All right.
20:14I'll see you again.
20:15Cheers.
20:16See you later.
20:17Cheers.
20:18Cheers.
20:19Cheers.
20:20Cheers then.
20:21Is everything good?
20:22Yeah.
20:23Yeah.
20:28I'm very nervous today because we're at the bottom of the league and we're scrambling
20:32for points.
20:33Dundee United are playing well and we really need to get a result today to keep in with a
20:38chance of avoiding relegation so today's very nerve wracking.
20:45How you doing boys?
20:47Hardly anybody here.
20:48It's mental.
20:49We've got a big semi-final next week though.
20:50Three weeks ago there was about 300 getting on this train at this time of the morning.
21:06Our theme song is We Hate Dundee.
21:09It's 20 miles down the road.
21:11They call it a Derby.
21:12It's a Tayside Derby.
21:14We've always had a big rivalry, them and us.
21:17It's the same even in your workplaces in Perth.
21:19If you're from Dundee, you're from Perth, there's always that rivalry.
21:23It's always been there.
21:24You just hate them.
21:26Thank you, Adam.
21:30We've got to play like we did against Selick last week.
21:33But it was always coming.
21:35A performance like that was always coming.
21:37We need to go and now we need to do it again.
21:40That's the thing.
21:41Oh, we're sitting in there somewhere.
21:46I'm knackered already.
21:48Come on, the Saints.
21:51Oh, when the Saints score, Mark Shannon.
21:58We won.
21:59We won.
22:00We won.
22:01We won!
22:02We won!
22:03We won!
22:04We won!
22:05We won!
22:06We won!
22:07We won!
22:08We won!
22:09We won!
22:10We won!
22:23We won!
22:24Yeah
22:44It's got dude like
22:54Nice to come away from Taranis by a point and but obviously keeps us bottom of the league, you know, we're going into the split now
23:24With still five games to go, still five games to save our season
23:28The split is just crazy, so everyone's played each other three times, could be two home, one away, two away, you know, whatever
23:34And then we split, goes top six, bottom six
23:37Bottom six play off to try and stay in the league
23:40Top six play off for a win in the league and European places
23:44So this season, St Johnston in the bottom six, if you are dead last, 12th position, you are down, you are out, you're away to the championship for next season
23:54If you finish in 11th, you play in a play-off, so really you're just playing off to try and avoid the play-offs and avoid relegation
24:00It will be difficult to attract players if we do go down
24:08Smaller crowds, smaller venues
24:10You know what I've had the last time, we were down there for years
24:12I really came to interrupt because we've got the pictures, do you want to be the first?
24:15Yes, please, yes!
24:17So we've got three home games
24:18Yes!
24:19First, we're away to Motherwell
24:21Away to Motherwell?
24:22Home to Cormanna
24:23Home to Cormanna
24:24The Wednesday night, we're away to, at Hearts
24:27Oh, Hearts
24:28We're at home to Ross County, last game of the season
24:30We're home to Dundee!
24:31We're home to Dundee!
24:32We'll be a beautiful match
24:34Home to Dundee here
24:36That's what I thought I'd come and tell you
24:38Last day at home, we have good games
24:39Dundee
24:40Dundee
24:41And we hate Dundee
24:43And we hate Dundee
24:45We hate Dundee
24:46And we hate Dundee
24:47And we hate Dundee
24:48And if it's between them and us, the last game of the season
24:50Oh boy
24:51They should be full
24:52They should be a sellout
24:53An absolute sellout
24:54Yeah, can you imagine it?
24:55I'm getting excited already
25:01Here we go, here we go
25:02Here we go
25:03One, two, three, four
25:09These are the ones we know
25:11That chorus has come in shortly
25:16Scotland probably does golf better than football
25:19In terms of
25:21We've got so many fantastic golf courses
25:24People come from all over the world to play golf here
25:27This is a normal Sunday morning golf session here at the Creef course
25:33With Al and Brian and myself
25:35We usually talk about the football
25:37Five games to go
25:38Five cup finals
25:40Oh
25:41Unlucky son
25:42What a shame eh?
25:43Yeah it's so close
25:44All square
25:45Snow
25:46We sit there sometimes and we're unhappy and we're going
25:47Oh you know
25:48It looks like they're not putting the effort in
25:49I suspect that they always put the effort in but you know
25:51We all have bad days at work so
25:53And if things aren't going your way they're just not going your way
25:54So it's difficult
25:55It must be difficult being a football player up to your point
25:56Obviously the fact that you hardly do any work
25:57And you get decent wages
25:59That makes it better for them
26:01I dunno there next week I'm no going
26:02I'm watching it
26:21I'm watching it on the radio
26:26there next week
26:26I'm not going
26:27I'm watching it
26:28I'm watching it
26:29I'm watching it
26:30on the radio
26:30Alan's going
26:32I'm going
26:33it's a cup game
26:34anything can happen
26:35literally
26:35I mean that's the thing
26:36that's the beauty of the cup
26:37that literally
26:39it's one game
26:40all you've got to do
26:42is go
26:42you don't worry about
26:43what's happening next week
26:44or anything else
26:44just go out
26:45concentrate
26:45win one game
26:46so
26:46and having beaten them
26:48last week
26:48it proves they can be beaten
26:51whether we'll beat them
26:52or not
26:52is a
26:53much different
26:55it's a different ball game
26:58it's semi-final day
27:03and somehow
27:04Saints have made it to Hamden
27:05it's bottom of the league
27:06versus the very top
27:08can they repeat the miracle
27:09of just two weeks ago
27:10or are we in
27:11for another hammering
27:13moment we all have to be waiting
27:14you can feel the support
27:16and go out there
27:17and play
27:18what we need to do
27:19we need to believe
27:20yourself
27:22ourself
27:23you need to believe
27:24teammates next to you
27:25you need to believe
27:27it's possible boys
27:28it's possible
27:29you already have made history
27:31but let's write one more chapter
27:33in this our cup journey
27:34I think the atmosphere
27:49with all the fans is really good
27:50kind of taking our mind off
27:52in bottom of the table
27:52fighting relegation
27:53does lightning strike twice
27:56we need to wait and see
27:58I'm not sure if it was the beer talking
27:59but I think everyone is
28:01fairly optimistic
28:02well the fans have come out
28:08in numbers for us
28:09for us as directors
28:10it's proud to lead the club
28:12through this period of time
28:13and allow us to
28:14hopefully
28:15go on
28:16to win
28:17the cup
28:18over the road
28:25yeah
28:27yeah
28:27yeah
28:28yeah
28:28yeah
28:31yeah
28:35What you like, I'm in my zone, what you need it, it's what you love it
28:38You've got to keep it high, made out of stone
28:41You have my own brother, one and two, I don't know, so I'm a man, I don't know
28:45I'm the man, I'm on the road, what you like, I'm in my zone
28:49What you need it, it's a rock, you want to leave it, I can see it there
28:52But I need it, it's a rock, it's a rock, it's a rock, it's a rock
28:56What you do, it's a rock, it's a rock, it's a rock, it's a rock
28:59It's my angel ball, I do my rest and get my checks and then I'm heading home
29:03All the time I put a challenger up here
29:07Like I'm tired, couple steps and watching all the living in fear
29:10That's how you're chasing me, you see I don't breathe by the news
29:13It's my heart, it's my heart, it's my heart made out of stone
29:18To the score in the back, for Chantal!
29:27Every place I have been, I want to win
29:30And it's nothing, nothing, nothing different here with St. Johnston.
29:35We want to win, we want to be successful, but at the same time we need to understand
29:41that sometimes our success now, now, is maybe it's not the trophy.
29:49It's something that we get, you know, the club moving good way.
29:54We get the, you know, the fans excited.
29:57That's the success for us.
29:59And then when we do this, the trophies maybe will come.
30:06I feel very good moved here and I feel like I'm loving life to come to St. Johnston,
30:12play football, see something else.
30:15I'm kind of that guy that loves new cultures.
30:18It says, we trace the steps and just after the railway bridge, which is that bridge there,
30:23cross the road, the pedestrian crossing.
30:25So it's like an old kind of integrity.
30:29How many circles was there?
30:33Yeah, I think the more you know the person outside of football, like chemistry wise,
30:36the more you learn about, the more you hang around or whatever you're doing, like team building
30:40stuff, the better you're going to play on the pitch because you feel like you know them more.
30:44We'll get you an iron blue, mainly we said fuzzy drink.
30:46Iron blue?
30:47Okay, yeah.
30:47Iron blue.
30:48Iron brew.
30:51It's always this.
30:52It's always a lot of fuzzy like America's.
30:54Yeah.
30:54Yeah.
30:54One more stuff over there.
30:55Wow.
30:56Wow.
30:57A lot of them.
30:57You should draw some pub, do you know what I mean?
30:59Yeah.
31:00All right.
31:00So what was the drink called?
31:02Iron brew.
31:03Iron brew.
31:04It's iron blue.
31:05Iron brew.
31:06Iron brew.
31:07Yeah, so why don't you stop an asshole?
31:09All right.
31:10So I've been told iron brew.
31:13I don't know what it is.
31:14You've never had an iron brew?
31:15No.
31:16I don't know what it is.
31:17He's missing out.
31:18You have to go full fat as well.
31:19You can't go in a diet with a full fat.
31:23What a drink.
31:25It's good.
31:25It's sweet.
31:26It's sweet.
31:26What do you taste like, dude?
31:28It's not like a fruity drink.
31:32I would almost say like sherry.
31:35A little bit like sherry in it.
31:36You think?
31:36Never tried that.
31:37Yeah.
31:38I don't know.
31:38I don't know about a tablet and you would shut up.
31:40Yeah, exactly.
31:41Then I'm done.
31:42Then I'm trying all the Scottish kind of things.
31:44No, but it's nice to get to try these kind of things,
31:46because otherwise I would never go here.
31:49Yeah, vodka with it as well if you ever lost.
31:51On a day off, yeah.
31:52On a day off, mate.
31:52After a win, right?
31:53Exactly, exactly.
31:56The split has begun and it's heartbreak at Fire Park.
31:59St Johnston battle back, but Motherwell edge it 3-2.
32:03It's another chance gone and time is beginning to run out.
32:09We need to go fucking next one.
32:11Start recovering now.
32:12Not fucking too much analysing.
32:13Head up.
32:14We didn't win.
32:15Lot of fucking shit.
32:16Blah, blah, blah.
32:17We take it.
32:17OK?
32:18We take it.
32:18We take it.
32:19We take it.
32:20And we go.
32:21It's all falling apart for St Johnston.
32:24A 2-0 defeat to Kilmarnock.
32:26And the drop zone creeps closer by the week.
32:29Let's face it.
32:30It's doubtful even Jesus could do a Lazarus job on the Saints.
32:33I think all staff are worried of relegation.
32:37I think, you know, people are worrying that if you go down, will they still have a job?
32:41Will they not have a job?
32:42Will their salary go up?
32:43Will their salary go down?
32:44You know, we're in an area of, you know, pressures on people financially at home.
32:48And that's a worry for everybody when the results aren't going right on the park.
32:52But we all lose quite a lot of money going down.
32:55You know, in simple terms, you're probably talking about 1.2 to 1.8 million loss right away.
33:01It's just sad to think that the league position can have so many different factors on a football club.
33:11But it's a lonely place as a chief exec.
33:16Because the buck stops with you.
33:18If I've got to make anyone redundant, it's a bad decision.
33:22And that's the bit the supporter doesn't see.
33:25It's a hurt that actually people have in here.
33:30Yeah, just to help me cry in there.
33:31Yeah, shadow boxing.
33:45Go to Sussis.
33:47You doing it?
33:48Last week was horrendous.
33:51It was the most...
33:54Ball.
33:55Yay.
33:56It was the most pathetic.
33:58Just, they weren't in it.
34:01They just...
34:02There was no fight.
34:03There was no desire.
34:05New guys came in, and he might find in two years down the line,
34:08and he might just go,
34:09Nah, you can't, I've just bought a shell.
34:12And he can sit on his throne in Elena, Georgia,
34:16and just not give a fuck.
34:21Hopefully he doesn't.
34:21Comes over quite a nice, genuine guy.
34:24But again, he's got every right to,
34:26because he's then went,
34:27it's a poor investment.
34:31Whee!
34:33Chuck, yay!
34:35We need to win today, regardless.
34:39A draw's not good enough.
34:48Win today, when it hurts, and then beat Dundee.
34:51We need to win.
34:52Today, no pressure.
34:54So, if we don't, we're going down.
34:58The head, no, the head's saying,
35:00no, we're fun, and this is telling me different.
35:03You never know.
35:05Yeah, we've got different points.
35:06If we get a win today against Ross County,
35:09brings us within three points, and then who knows,
35:12we're still in with the shout.
35:13It's not over yet.
35:14Not over till the fat lady sings.
35:17There's live music at five o'clock after the game,
35:20so we'll see if it's a fat lady singing or not.
35:28Must win stuff.
35:29If you don't win today, then we're down.
35:31So, I'm a bit nervous for today, but it's like...
35:34Yeah.
35:35..who drinks to try and settle their nerves.
35:37I don't want Saints to be relegated,
35:39but you just want to rip the bandage off and just do it already.
35:42Yeah.
35:43They're out of hell, and they're out of hell.
35:46They're out of hell.
35:47They're out of hell.
35:48They're out of hell.
35:59What are you doing today?
36:01Let's go, let's go.
36:13I don't think I'm hiding. Absolutely not.
36:25Okay. It's the same. I go now a little bit bigger field. Fucking bad things fucking loose.
36:30Every fucking meeting you down step up. Show me on the field then. Show it. Don't talk anymore.
36:36Show to me on the field. Okay. And then I say I'm fucking wrong. I'm more than happy to admit it.
36:41Okay. Show me on the field. I'm showing you. Okay. Good.
36:47Now we have 45 minutes. Let's fucking call. Let's go. Okay. Come on.
37:11Oh my god.
37:13Oh my god.
37:15Oh my god.
37:17Oh my god.
37:19Oh my god.
37:21Oh my god.
37:23Shut it up.
37:25Yeah, you say.
37:27Spit it out.
37:29Shut it up.
37:31Oh my god.
37:33Oh my god.
37:34Oh my god.
37:36Oh my god.
37:38Oh my god.
37:40Oh my god.
37:42Oh my god.
37:44Oh my god.
37:45Oh my god.
37:46Oh my god.
37:47Bloody hell.
37:47I lost my voice there.
37:49You know we live to fight another game.
37:51Two games now.
37:52Three points behind.
37:53Six to play for.
37:54Wednesday night against Hearts.
37:56Fuck.
37:58That is absolutely brutal.
38:00That is brutal.
38:01But it was magnificent though.
38:03You know, so many what ifs, right?
38:06We could have had four goals today.
38:08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
38:09Well, I don't know.
38:09You probably haven't seen the results, but Dundee lost.
38:13Great.
38:13Yeah.
38:13So if they lose Wednesday and we win,
38:17then we could also catch them and it would all be down to the last game.
38:21Talk about the apples.
38:22So basically we're going to shave our heads because we're going to have any hair after we're done.
38:28Yeah, yeah.
38:29I mean, you know, it makes every minute so much more just meaningful when you're at this level,
38:36when you're an owner.
38:38And so the good times are good and the bad times are so bad.
38:43So we really have to appreciate these magical moments.
38:47Yeah.
38:47You know, we've given ourselves another shot, maybe two more shots,
38:50and that's all we can hope for today.
38:54Keep plugging away.
38:55Go for two.
38:56Yeah, man.
39:00Let's go again, boys.
39:01Let's go again.
39:02No fear.
39:03No fear.
39:04We go, we go, we go, we go, we go.
39:14Now we need to show again, you know, what we are.
39:28It's not, it's not fucking easy.
39:29We need to go again.
39:30We need to go again.
39:31Let's go again.
39:40Oh
39:55What's going on? Oh, boy, what's going on? Oh, my god, howdy it sounds like a little thing fucking
40:10It's official, it's all over. St Johnson are down, but there's still one last derby against Dundee, and Pride still to play for.
40:30Can Simo lift the team, or is this just the final page in a brutal season?
40:40I see this as a new beginning rather than an ending.
40:47What the fuck is that all?
41:10This is how you make it to the big time.
41:17This is how you make it to the big time.
41:32It's like being fucking shot.
41:39It's very embarrassing.
41:45I've put a lot of the blame on the players about this lack of clashing.
41:52No clashing on the pitch, there's no fight.
41:55What's your evaluation this season then?
42:00Well, we got relegated.
42:02What do you think?
42:04Harsh, isn't it?
42:05Yeah, it is.
42:06And you can't expect to keep flirting with relegation year after year after year after year, and get away with it.
42:12So, we did it.
42:14Okay, good morning – time for good times!
42:28Last time we are together, as this group.
42:31That's how football and life goes.
42:34I really hope that you spend some time reflecting what went on this season.
42:46Come see me and Gus in a boardroom.
42:49So we have a little face-to-face talk there.
42:51And then you free the goal.
43:00It's just heartbreaking for everyone, whether they're going to be here or not.
43:04Nobody wants a relegation on their CV.
43:06Nobody wants to see St Johnston in the Championship.
43:09Since I've been a young boy, they've been in the Premiership and that's all I've known.
43:23Today was the day of many goodbyes.
43:25When you look at these boards here, they used to be full of players.
43:31Now it's a clean, empty canvas, waiting for the new stories to be written.
43:37And that's what we started today.
43:40It has been an emotional time, but no time feels sorry for myself, no time feels for anyone.
43:47Only feel sorry for our fans that we could not keep them in a Premiership.
43:52Unfortunately, when it comes to the Liverpool, it's never nice.
43:57You don't get used to it.
43:59Do you agree with that to us?
44:00It's never a pleasant time because it's livelihoods.
44:02It's a horrible side of football.
44:04So what is that?
44:05What is it?
44:06So that's 16 out there plus five return from loan.
44:1121 players out the door.
44:1321 players out the door.
44:24Taxi for Noreen.
44:30Coming John.
44:31Here we go, season ticket time again.
44:34Yeah, championship John, what do you think?
44:43We've been there before, haven't we?
44:45It'll be different for the young ones.
44:47Well, we'll be the big team in the league.
44:48Well, we hope so.
44:50But that was a shocker, that list of players yesterday.
44:53I mean, half the squad.
44:55Hopefully they've got it sorted.
44:56They know who they want or they've got an idea of what they want.
45:00I suppose it'll be up to Adam Webb if he's going to invest the funds.
45:04He has put a lot of money in, but...
45:06Ah, buying tellies.
45:08Buying televisions.
45:09Perfectly.
45:10Will be the most impressive in the championship
45:12with our big scoreboards, our LED advertisement boards.
45:17Thank you, John.
45:18I'll go and part with my money now, gladly.
45:21We'll see you at the first game of the season.
45:24Bye.
45:31Hi, Danny.
45:33How are you?
45:34Good, how are you?
45:35I've come and collect my season ticket.
45:36I'll get it for you.
45:37Thank you very much.
45:39There we are, Lordy.
45:41That's great, Danny.
45:43Thank you so much.
45:46See you in the new season.
45:48Bye.
45:49You're not even coming to see that, are you?
45:52Hopefully we're not down there for long.
45:54Hopefully we get the bounce back, as I say,
45:56with a wee group and then come back up to the Premiership
46:02after, well, maybe a year.
46:04And Simo we trust.
46:05I think the guy's got a game plan.
46:07I believe in him.
46:09I think Adams came in and addressed himself extremely well
46:13because he is quite transparent.
46:15Hopefully he can kind of pick up the pieces and see...
46:19Because he's hand-picked Simo out as well.
46:21Next season's model.
46:23New group reform.
46:26Avoid relegation.
