A police inspector named Govind Raju was caught red-handed by Lokayukta officials while accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh in Bengaluru. The incident occurred when Govind Raju demanded a total bribe of Rs 5 lakh in connection with a cheating case. He had already taken Rs 1 lakh earlier, and the Lokayukta team trapped him while accepting the remaining Rs 4 lakh near C.A.R. Ground on Mysore Road. The complainant, Mohammed Akbar, had filed a case against Govind Raju for demanding the bribe. Suraj, who was involved in the bribe transaction, tried to flee but was apprehended by the Lokayukta officials. Suraj's family alleged that Govind Raju, along with IPS officer Chandan Gowda, Inspector Mohan Gowda, and others, were targeting them and making false allegations.
