Celebrity Escape To The Country - Season 3 - Episode 06: Neil Jones
Transcript
00:00For this celebrity house hunt, we have a strictly spec-
00:05spectacular line-up. Wow! Richie, look at these views!
00:09I don't think I've ever-
00:10I've never seen a view like this from a property.
00:13Sometimes that means veering-
00:15miles off the beaten track.
00:17See, this is what I love about it. It's space.
00:20It's more than space, Neil. We're in anything here!
00:23The whole countryside is-
00:25There's a stage-
00:26Dun-dun-dun!
00:28Hoo-hoo!
00:29As we-
00:30DRIVE FOR THE PERFECT SCORE!
00:32Those hips don't lie!
00:33Well, you know, Neil-
00:34Ooh!
00:35Yeah!
00:36Yeah!
00:37Hmm!
00:38Yeah!
00:39Yeah!
00:40Yeah!
00:42Yeah!
00:43Yeah!
00:44Yeah!
00:45Yeah!
00:47Yeah!
00:48Yeah!
00:49Yeah!
00:50Yeah!
00:51Yeah!
00:52Yeah!
00:53The foxes are trotting.
00:55The sheep are doing the lamb-
00:58Bah-
00:59Da!
01:00Yeah!
01:01Stick with me.
01:02Even the cows are keeping in step.
01:04And that's-
01:05That's because the countryside is moving and shaking.
01:09Oh!
01:10Still got it.
01:11And one man who knows all about having a little boogie is strictly come dancing-
01:15choreographer and professional dancer, Neil Jones.
01:18But after years of-
01:20Bopping along to the fast pace of cities, Neil and his family are ready.
01:25For a change of tempo.
01:27Wiggle, wiggle.
01:29Wiggle, wiggle.
01:30Wiggle, wiggle.
01:31Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.
01:32Woo!
01:33World champion dancer-
01:35And strictly professional, Neil Jones.
01:37And his fiancee, TV personality, Chyna Mills.
01:40Rent a house on the river in a Hertfordshire town with their daughter, Havana.
01:45Yay!
01:46Ho, ho, ho, ho.
01:48Cha, cha, cha, mum's going on the-
01:50wrong foot but it doesn't matter. Daddy can see that in the corner of his eye.
01:55I can hear it as well. The story of how
02:00they met is a tale as old as, well, social media.
02:04So technically...
02:05I slid into her DMs.
02:06Yeah.
02:07Romantic.
02:08Yeah.
02:08I didn't even know who you...
02:10That's true.
02:11So I was like, oh, what are you doing now? And he says, oh, I'm currently on tour. I'm like...
02:15And he said, oh, I'm a professional dancer.
02:20This is...
02:25That's what she said.
02:28As well as being a whiz on...
02:30On his feet, Neil has turned his hand to tattoo in and also renovated...
02:35...his houseboat that the family lived on for six months.
02:38I created my own...
02:40...structure on here.
02:41I actually laid all the floorboards myself as well.
02:44And I think it all comes...
02:45...from when I was dancing, when I was younger.
02:47We had to find ways of making money.
02:49So I used to...
02:50...odd jobs.
02:51And because of those odd jobs, it kind of helped me pay for my dancing.
02:54And now...
02:55...now it's all paying off later as well, because that's what I love to do.
02:58Creating a safe and comfortable...
03:00...place for his family is particularly pertinent for Neil.
03:04So just...
03:05...just after I finished school, finished my GCSEs...
03:08...basically, I had enough money to pay for my...
03:10...dancing, but not enough money to pay for somewhere to live.
03:13So I was actually...
03:15...to be homeless for a period of time.
03:17I remember the first night...
03:18...I was kind of sleeping on the bench.
03:20...right outside the studio.
03:21And then...
03:22...I was like...
03:23...oh no, wait.
03:24What if I'm still...
03:25...sleep when someone comes in the morning?
03:26Like, what am I going to do?
03:27Because...
03:28...no one knew it.
03:29You know, and I was...
03:30...hiding it from everyone.
03:31Neil is now keen for any chance to...
03:35...build a home from the ground up.
03:37But the enthusiasm hasn't rubbed off on China.
03:40I can't be starting from scratch.
03:42Okay.
03:43I need a wall.
03:44I need...
03:45I need walls at least.
03:46We can...
03:47I'm sure we can have walls.
03:48Does it need to have a roof?
03:49Yeah, yeah.
03:50At least the roof.
03:52Not forgetting wardrobe space...
03:53...for all those outfits.
03:55So there's my dance shoes.
03:57And actually you can see typical Strictly.
03:59Everyone gets...
04:00...to use everyone's.
04:01So it actually says Jake in there.
04:03Because he's mostly used my shoes once for a while.
04:06I hear you Neil.
04:07I'm actually wearing jewels as well as.
04:09Footwear...
04:10...where China wouldn't be caught dead in.
04:12If you just imagine a piece of glass...
04:14...she'll...
04:15...he likes to be on this side of nature.
04:16Looking out at it.
04:17Whereas I like to be in it.
04:18Yeah.
04:19So yeah.
04:20I don't mind looking at him...
04:21...through the window...
04:23...of a look.
04:25...the scenery.
04:26I don't want to be in it.
04:28One thing they...
04:29One thing they...
04:30...can agree on...
04:31...is their search area.
04:33She's an auburn lass.
04:34She wants to...
04:35...to be up in Yorkshire.
04:36And you love it now.
04:37I like Yorkshire.
04:38I think Yorkshire's great.
04:39So...
04:40...so it will be...
04:41...a lot nicer...
04:42...I think also for...
04:43...Havana to grow up...
04:44...around fam...
04:45...the family.
04:46I will really, really...
04:47...really be happy...
04:48...for the unlimited babysitting.
04:50...for my mum...
04:51...if we live...
04:52...right next door.
04:53Not too close.
04:54Because I don't want her to pop...
04:55...around for a cup of tea...
04:56...all the time.
04:57When you just said...
04:58...next door.
04:59I was like...
05:00...neil and Chyna...
05:02...are after a...
05:03...three bedroom...
05:04...detached family...
05:05...full of character...
05:07...with space for...
05:08...entertaining...
05:09...as well as plenty of...
05:10...storage for all those...
05:11...sparkly Strictly outfits.
05:13Neil is more than happy...
05:15...to take on a project...
05:16...and for all this...
05:17...they've got a budget...
05:18...of six hundred...
05:19...and...
05:20...fifty thousand pounds.
05:25...and...
05:26...and...
05:27...and...
05:28...and...
05:29...and...
05:30...and...
05:31...and...
05:32...and...
05:33...I am loving...
05:34...neil and Chyna's...
05:35...back...
05:35...and...
05:36...and...
05:37...and...
05:38...we've got...
05:39...neil who wants to be...
05:40...immersed in nature.
05:40...basically wants to get...
05:41...his hands dirty...
05:42...and...
05:43...then we've got Chyna...
05:44...who just wants to sit there...
05:45...in a comfy chair...
05:46...with a cuppa...
05:47...and just...
05:48...well...
05:49...look at it.
05:50...so...
05:51...how's this gonna work?
05:52...well...
05:53...that's where we come in...
05:54...because I need to...
05:55...find them a house...
05:56...where they can both...
05:57...find their groove...
05:58...amongst the greenery.
06:01...neil and Chyna...
06:02...want to move closer...
06:03...to her family...
06:04...so we'll be focusing...
06:05...our search across...
06:06...the Yorkshire Dales...
06:07...in the counties...
06:08...of Cumbria...
06:09...and North Yorkshire...
06:10...a detached house...
06:11...in North Yorkshire...
06:12...costs an average...
06:13...of $400...
06:14...$400...
06:15...$400...
06:15...and £37,000...
06:17...but hopping over the border...
06:19...into South...
06:20...cumbria...
06:21...can bring generous...
06:22...savings...
06:23...as the average...
06:24...is around...
06:25...$300...
06:25...$180,000...
06:27...Yorkshire...
06:29...is...
06:30...and often referred to...
06:31...as God's own country...
06:33...which is justifiable...
06:34...when you see heaven...
06:35...you don't have any views...
06:36...like these...
06:37...in addition to the scenery...
06:38...the county has given us...
06:40...alicious treats...
06:41...like cheeses...
06:42...tea...
06:43...and the eponymous...
06:44...puddings...
06:45...don't mind if I do...
06:47...before we take the plunge...
06:49...we're meeting at...
06:50...hard draw force...
06:51...England's largest...
06:53...above ground...
06:54...single drop...
06:55...waterfall...
07:00...now I'm used to seeing...
07:01...you two...
07:02...on shiny dance floors...
07:03...or on red carpet...
07:05...but...
07:06...the countryside...
07:07...looks so good...
07:08...on the both of you...
07:09...this is a bit of me...
07:10...if you found a house...
07:12...that was just up there...
07:13...and I could just...
07:14...absell down...
07:15...every morning...
07:16...that would be my dream...
07:17...no windows...
07:18...I want a project...
07:19...I want...
07:20...you know...
07:20...I absolutely love...
07:21...being in nature...
07:23...I think I should have been...
07:24...a farmer or something...
07:25...honestly...
07:26...his idea of...
07:28...rural...
07:29...is very...
07:30...and...
07:31...yeah...
07:32...like a barn...
07:33...with no windows...
07:34...and what do you want from...
07:35...a property than China?
07:36I want somewhere...
07:37...that...
07:38...we can settle...
07:39...and...
07:40...have somewhere nice...
07:42...for Havana to grow up...
07:43...and call home...
07:44...because...
07:45...I don't feel like...
07:46...we've had that yet...
07:47...no we've moved a lot...
07:48...I think we've maybe...
07:49...in like the fourth...
07:50...place that we've lived...
07:51...we've lived on a boat...
07:52...we've lived on everything...
07:53...I love this...
07:54...so I...
07:55...I don't know if you're a big fan...
07:56...of Escape to the Country...
07:57...I'll explain how the programme works...
07:58...Richie, Richie...
07:59...oh hang on...
08:00...you don't need to explain to me...
08:01...how it works...
08:02...I'm a massive fan...
08:04...I've even got a...
08:05...tattoo...
08:06...of my favourite presenter...
08:07...oh Neil...
08:08...you know I don't like a fuss...
08:09...it's Jules...
08:10...yeah of course...
08:11...it's Jules...
08:12...um...
08:13...listen I hear you...
08:14...because I also...
08:15...have a tattoo of my favourite...
08:16...escape to the Country presenter...
08:17...really?
08:18...yeah you might have to help me...
08:19...no problem...
08:20...it's Nicky Chapman...
08:22...it's Nicky Chapman...
08:23...it's Nicky Chapman...
08:25...oh look at that...
08:26...matchy-matchy...
08:27...where's yours Chyna?
08:28...honestly I couldn't pick...
08:30...we've got some...
08:31...fabulous houses to see...
08:33...um...
08:34...and look at it for you Chyna...
08:35...the first...
08:35...is not up there...
08:36...it's that way my darling...
08:38...follow me...
08:40...we're putting our...
08:43...best foot forward...
08:45...and quick stepping...
08:46...to the Hamlet of Gawthrop...
08:48...in South Cumbria...
08:50...the Hamlet lies...
08:51...within Dentdale...
08:52...one of the lesser known...
08:54...but breathtaking...
08:55...beautiful dales...
08:57...the nearby village...
08:58...of Dent...
08:59...offers a couple...
09:00...full of pubs...
09:01...plus...
09:02...a family-run village shop...
09:03...and while there's no...
09:04...ballroom...
09:05...there is a tea room...
09:06...just a few miles...
09:07...along the valley...
09:08...is the house...
09:09...we've...
09:10...come to see...
09:12...feast your eyes...
09:13...on property...
09:15...number one!
09:16Oh wow!
09:17Yeah, wow!
09:18I like this!
09:19I love it!
09:20...to be honest!
09:21Do ya?
09:22Yeah, and I've not...
09:23...even been inside...
09:24...what is it about it...
09:25...that is calling out...
09:25...China!
09:26Look at me!
09:27Love me!
09:28It's the character...
09:29Yeah!
09:30...it's the vibe...
09:30...it's everything!
09:32It's got plenty of character...
09:33...from the outside...
09:34...and...
09:35...and the garden...
09:36...looks cute!
09:37I know this is the type of garden...
09:38...you would like!
09:39Yeah, because you would maintain it!
09:40I'm hoping there's...
09:41...I'm hoping there's more garden!
09:43Are you a gardener as well as a dancer then, Neil?
09:45I love a garden!
09:46I used to do gardening...
09:47...that's how I used to pay for my dancing!
09:49What a catch job!
09:50Honestly, it's an all-rounder!
09:51That's why I love him!
09:52Yeah!
09:53Right, shall we go into the inside of the house?
09:54Oh!
09:55Please!
09:56And let's hope we can keep this energy going!
09:57Follow me!
09:58Now I'm scared!
09:59I'm scared but I'm excited!
10:00There's nothing to be scared about China!
10:03As despite being over 200 years...
10:05...this Grade 2 listed farmhouse...
10:07...is finished with a fresh...
10:09...model...
10:10...modern interior...
10:11...where Neil should feel right at home!
10:15Oh, I love this!
10:16How stunning is this living room?
10:18Oh, I love this!
10:19Yeah, this is a bit of me!
10:20Do you know what?
10:21I love...
10:22I love this!
10:23Right?
10:24Look at that!
10:25This is...
10:26This is brilliant!
10:27It's...
10:28Do you know what?
10:29It's just the right size!
10:30I'm in!
10:30I love this!
10:31Yeah, 100%!
10:32Honestly, watching TV and then seeing that view...
10:35I could...
10:36I could do this!
10:37It is!
10:38We like it when it's like that!
10:39When you can just look out the window...
10:40And the ceiling's the right height!
10:41I'm happy that you're here!
10:42So that we can test it!
10:44Yeah!
10:45Get out!
10:46Because Neil's not tall!
10:47How tall are you, Neil?
10:48I'm...
10:49I'm 5'10 at a push...
10:50Which takes...
10:50That technically means I'm six foot!
10:51I mean, I don't want to call you out, Neil, but I'm 5'11!
10:54So I'm...
10:55I'm not sure...
10:56Do we...
10:57Oh, no, he's on his tiptoes!
10:58Yeah!
10:59On his tiptoes with a Cuban...
11:00Yeah!
11:01Right, I'll take you through to the next room...
11:02Okay!
11:03Follow me!
11:04It's gorgeous, isn't it?
11:05Why just stay here?
11:06It's quite...
11:05And this is your kitchen diner!
11:10Oh, wow!
11:11I know!
11:12Okay!
11:13I don't know what I was expecting, I think I was ex...
11:15I was expecting...
11:16more...
11:17kitchen space!
11:20I love you, girl, but it's massive in it.
11:21So imagine it's a Sunday, you put in a roast.
11:25You stand over it, how does it feel for you?
11:27Oh, yeah, I've got a little cake there.
11:28Is it big enough?
11:29No, I don't-
11:30Definitely, I don't know, I want bigger.
11:33Bigger?
11:34Yeah, yeah.
11:35I definitely want bigger, Neil, because we have-
11:40A lot of family that will be coming around for Christmas.
11:42Yeah.
11:43This is the visualisation I need you to work with me on.
11:45If you needed to, you could extend through, so you could still continue-
11:50the kitchen into there instead of having a snug area.
11:52Very true.
11:53Like Neil said, you could be cooking over here.
11:55Your families are over there, Havana's running around, the music's on.
12:00You hear a beep, all the roast is done, I need to cut it up for everyone.
12:03No.
12:04No, she wouldn't.
12:05You'd hear the bleep and she'd say, Neil!
12:07Neil!
12:09That's what happens.
12:10This is perfect.
12:11Like, if you want to come on, Richie, join in with me.
12:12Okay.
12:13If you wanted to, like, just do a little bit of salsa.
12:15Ooh!
12:16Yeah, let the hips go.
12:17Is this a salsa?
12:18This is, yeah.
12:18This is, like, perfect.
12:19You can-
12:20All of this, you could be turning around.
12:21Oh, no!
12:22Oh, no!
12:23Yeah, I-
12:23You look-
12:24No, I'm not gonna lie.
12:25You look so much better than me.
12:26Look at-
12:27Those hips don't lie.
12:28Oh, you know, Neil.
12:29It never leaves ya.
12:30Back to the kitchen space, you're the-
12:33Loving it.
12:34Yeah.
12:35You need to, kind of, mull over it.
12:36Yeah.
12:37Shall we go and see another room and-
12:38See if that works?
12:39Yes.
12:40Well, follow me.
12:41And let's hope it's big enough, eh?
12:42Yeah.
12:43It's following me to the stairs.
12:45Um, you've got a utility room through there.
12:47I'm sorry.
12:48I'm sorry.
12:49What's the matter?
12:50You just knocked it.
12:51It's fine.
12:52So this shows that it's a little bit low.
12:55Not for Havana.
12:56And that's-
12:57That's what I'm thinking.
12:58Not for me.
12:59Look at me.
13:00Five, ten.
13:01No problem.
13:02It's fine.
13:03You get loads in there.
13:04Yeah, but me and my-
13:02High heels.
13:03Nah.
13:04You're not walking around in your high heels around the house.
13:06Okay, so-
13:07Some of the ceilings are in range for us strapping lads, but the ups-
13:12stairs-vaulted landing is safe.
13:14There's a family bathroom and three bedrooms.
13:17One is being used as an office.
13:19And this is your beautiful-
13:22characterful main bedroom with views for days.
13:27Oh, okay.
13:28This is a good size.
13:29It's beautiful isn't it?
13:30It is a good size.
13:31You don't think?
13:32No it-
13:32It is a good size.
13:33I mean-
13:34Height.
13:35I feel tall in here.
13:36This is brilliant.
13:37But listen, the character-
13:39Yeah.
13:40Yeah, I do love the character.
13:41Also, it's a bedroom.
13:42You want it to feel cosy.
13:43Yeah.
13:44I do like the vibes.
13:45I was hoping it was going to be-
13:47an ensuite.
13:48Mmm.
13:49Your bathroom's just next door.
13:50Gets you around the house.
13:52That's true.
13:53Gets me walking.
13:54So we're sitting inside of the house.
13:55Shall we have a look outside and see if that-
13:57works cos I'm thinking Havana.
13:58Is there enough room out there for her to be playing around?
14:00So there's more than the front garden?
14:02Oh, come on, Charlie.
14:03You've got to escape to the country.
14:04We don't mess about.
14:05And it's the celebrity version.
14:06Of course-
14:07You've lost this ball.
14:08Ow.
14:09Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
14:12Come on, guys, out we go.
14:17Nothing to say here.
14:20If you're more concerned for-
14:22My welfare than Neil in China.
14:24I'm pleased to say all that got hurt was my-
14:27pride.
14:28The house is set in the stunning Dentdale Valley, so the outside land-
14:32is surrounded by million-dollar views.
14:37And this is one of your garden spaces.
14:40So that's four of-
14:41Whoa.
14:42I've come-
14:42Ooh.
14:43That's nice.
14:44So how much gardener space would we have, then?
14:47Front garden.
14:48Yeah.
14:49A courtyard at the back.
14:50Okay.
14:51Second garden with a shed.
14:52Okay.
14:53Fancy another one.
14:54This one as well.
14:55This one as well.
14:56Oh wow.
14:57Okay.
14:58And look, you've got your very own Chris-
14:57mystery.
14:58See, I don't know if I'm sold.
15:00I might need to sit down.
15:02Wait a minute, Neil.
15:03Hang on.
15:04I'm sorry.
15:05What exactly?
15:06I'm sorry to play devil's-
15:07advocate.
15:08Is it that disgusting view or-
15:10It's-
15:11I love the view.
15:12The lack of full gardens.
15:12But I don't like the idea of separate garden spaces.
15:16I mean, have you ever had-
15:17gardens before?
15:18No, I've never had gardens, but-
15:20It's quite the thing to say.
15:21It is.
15:22It's quite a thing to say.
15:23But I just don't feel like we need gardens.
15:27I feel like we need a lovely big garden.
15:30How much is this on the market for?
15:32China?
15:33I'd say six to five.
15:36Oh.
15:37I think this could be 660 or something.
15:42This is on the market.
15:44Right at the ceiling of your budget.
15:45Bang on.
15:46600.
15:47150,000 pounds.
15:48Oh, wow.
15:49Oh, it's a good price.
15:50It's good.
15:51It is.
15:52And this is one where we could literally-
15:54It is turnkey.
15:55Move straight.
15:56Move straight.
15:57Get in.
15:58Yeah.
15:59Still have to set out the kitchen before Christmas, but-
16:02Even China might have to agree, the only thing prettier than-
16:07the cha-cha charming farmhouse is its surroundings.
16:11It's a turnkey-
16:12property with four gardens.
16:15All being available bang on.
16:17On budget.
16:18Overall, I actually really love this house.
16:21Erm, I feel like-
16:22the outside looks great.
16:23I love that there's separate gardens.

19:10I love like the trees and everything, Neil I'm upset.
19:15You know, just come on, get the checkbook out.
19:20No, that's done. We'll see you next time guys. No, no, you must see the inside.
19:24You must see the inside.
19:25And the chickens are over there. I organised a little welcoming committee.
19:28Oh, lovely. And if you look in front of...
19:30For the rest of you, they are the three Yorkshiredale peaks.
19:34This is unbelievable.
19:35We could go for little hikes up there.
19:37Right, we've got that far, Neil.
19:39So could we be going from...
19:40Ballroom to barnroom. Shall we go and have a look inside?
19:43Please, let's do it.
19:44See, I'm bad with the dad...
19:45Not too bad, that's quite good actually.
19:46Yeah, you'll get that. You'll get that.
19:50This stone barn was originally the farmer's milking...
19:55Carola, then converted to a dwelling in the late 90s, and inside...
20:00It's the cream of the crop.
20:04Look how stunning...
20:05In this kitchen is.
20:06Oh my gosh.
20:07Yeah.
20:08I love this.
20:09I love...
20:10Neil, your face is lighting up over there.
20:12It's...
20:13Do you know what?
20:14It's like you've just had a ten.
20:16I've never had that.
20:17I haven't had many.
20:18Oh, whoa, whoa.
20:19I thought...
20:20In China.
20:21To see a special, I've had a ten.
20:22It doesn't count.
20:23Nowhere else.
20:26Who tends to do the washing up in the relationship?
20:29What?
20:30We don't have a dishwasher either.
20:31Can I show you something if you're doing your washing up?
20:33Yeah.
20:34Follow me now.
20:35Oh.
20:35Have a look at that view by your sink.
20:37Oh, that is nice.
20:39Now the...
20:40There shouldn't be any dishes piled up then, should there?
20:42That's very clever.
20:43Do you want to have a look, Joanna?
20:44Stunning.
20:45Come on, don't miss out.
20:45Yeah, don't worry.
20:46You might start washing up.
20:47No, this is stunning.
20:50There's a good-sized lounge whose decor nods to the proper...
20:55property's former purpose.
20:56Oh, wow.
20:57Oh, I like this.
20:58Oh, wow.
20:59Oh, I like this.
21:00I like this a lot.
21:01I do.
21:02Yeah, all the light coming in.
21:03Again!
21:05Fire.
21:06That's so important to me.
21:07You could just imagine if it was snowing outside as well, how beautiful it was.
21:10Yeah, that would be...
21:11It'd be like a Christmas car, wouldn't it?
21:12Especially with Havana.
21:13She loves nature like me.
21:14Mmm.
21:15And just like when you're coming around and you're seeing sheep, you know, she will be
21:18going crazy.
21:19She'll be like, sheep, that...
21:20Yeah, she would.
21:21Yeah.
21:22She would see this house and just not want to leave.
21:24Yeah.
21:25But I feel like we could have more entertaining space.
21:30True.
21:31Because we are entertainers.
21:32But if you didn't have a dining table in...
21:35Oh, yeah.
21:36We'd just sit with our dinners on our laps.
21:37It would be more space there.
21:39We could have...
21:40Have a little dance around.
21:41Now we need a dining table.
21:45Listen, I'm not too concerned about you saying you want more space.
21:48I'm going to send you off now to have a look around.
21:50And I promise you, China, I pinky promise you that as you go around...
21:55You're going to be surprised.
21:56I'm so excited already.
21:57There's more to this gorgeous barn than what meets the...
22:00The upstairs surpasses their wish list.
22:04And often...
22:05Four bedrooms.
22:06Oh, wow.
22:07Oh, this is a good size.
22:08This is a good size.
22:09This is a good size.
22:10Let me see.
22:11En suite.
22:12Oh, yeah.
22:13En suite shower toilet.
22:14This is what I like...
22:15This is...
22:16Oh, oh.
22:17Wait.
22:18I like cre...
22:20I like creaky floorboard.
22:21You know how I care.
22:22I get out of bed.
22:23You're asleep.
22:24This is me.
22:25I'm...
22:26I'm lying in bed.
22:27I get out.
22:28And you...
22:30Neo.
22:31And I'm like...
22:32Sorry.
22:33But that can be sorted, Nick.
22:35Okay.
22:36I like the size.
22:37Yeah.
22:38I'm hoping that there's other rooms that could be...
22:40My wardrobe space.
22:41Yeah.
22:42Your wish is my...
22:45My command.
22:46Okay.
22:47Well, I think...
22:48Is this enough space?
22:49This could be your...
22:50walking wardrobe.
22:51I definitely don't feel like the lighting space is the best in here.
22:54You mean...
22:55We have one small window.
22:56But again, the wallpaper...
22:58It's quite...
22:59If we...
23:00What do you think about that?
23:01If it was lighter...
23:02I'm thinking about ripping the roof off, Neil.
23:04I'm thinking about...
23:05I'm starting again.
23:06Really?
23:07Might be chilly in the winter...
23:09But the views are...
23:10It'll be great.
23:11In the back corner of the house is the last bedroom.
23:15It's...
23:15It's used as a snug and forms a self-contained wing with its own staircase...
23:20to a utility room below.
23:21It's a good second...
23:23living room.
23:25Yeah.
23:26I wonder what's down there.
23:28Okay.
23:29Wow.
23:30I feel like this is a lot of wasted space.
23:32Yeah.
23:33Totally agree.
23:34You know what?
23:35You stay here.
23:36I'm gonna look at the kitchen.
23:37And I'm just gonna...
23:38Just...
23:39Wait.
23:40I'll be back.
23:40Up through the snug, then across the house and back down...
23:45into the main kitchen is the other side of that wall.
23:48Okay.
23:49Yeah.
23:50So what I'm...
23:50See it.
23:51Have a look.
23:54Oh yeah.
23:55You're fine, huh?
23:56Yeah.
23:57Yeah.
23:58Yeah.
23:59That's good, isn't it?
24:00Yeah.
24:01So what I'm thinking is...
24:00this would be really brilliant.
24:01We knock through that wall...
24:03all the way across...
24:04take all...
24:05all of this out.
24:06So it's under the stairs.
24:07That way this whole kitchen moves through.
24:09We can have a nice...
24:10nice island there.
24:12And then have a dining table.
24:14I've got...
24:15I've got the vision.
24:16I've got the plan.
24:17I think it's gonna work out.
24:18You think?
24:19I think...
24:20I think so.
24:21I think he's just getting carried away.
24:25Yeah.
24:28There's more to capture Neil's...
24:30imagination in the garden...
24:32which wraps around the house.
24:34It's within the forest...
24:35of Bolan National Landscape.
24:36And while the views are sprawling...
24:38the garden is in...
24:40closed.
24:41Safe for children and pets.
24:43And it also comes with a soak-in...
24:45tub.
24:46Do you know what?
24:47It's...
24:48it's a good size...
24:49because I know walking in...
24:50we've...
24:50we've got the other side as well...
24:51you know...
24:52I've always wanted chickens...
24:53because then you get the fresh eggs...
24:54and I...
24:55no joke...
24:56I go for about six eggs a day.
24:57Do you?
24:58Yeah.
24:59It's a nightmare.
25:00It's a nightmare.
25:00In one sitting?
25:01Yeah.
25:02Yeah.
25:03I just feel like I'm learning so much about you.
25:04You've got a budget of...
25:05£650,000.
25:07How much do you think this is on the market for China?
25:10£660,000.
25:11£660,000?
25:12Yeah.
25:13£660,000.
25:14£660,000?
25:15Yeah.
25:15I think this one might be...
25:17£550,000.
25:18Oh £550,000.
25:19£550,000?
25:20Yeah.
25:20I'm dreaming.
25:21You are dreaming, Neil.
25:23Well we can dream, Neil.
25:24This is on the market...
25:25for...
25:26£660,000.
25:29£660,000.
25:30£660,000.
25:31Oh!
25:32So I'm the closest.
25:33Yeah.
25:34And you're £50,000 and...
25:35That's the main headline here.
25:36Yeah!
25:37Yeah!
25:38There's that ch...
25:40champion winning mentality.
25:42Well under budget, this former milking parlour offers...
25:45four bedrooms, plus generous downstairs living that could be reconfigured.
25:50and it's all surrounded by endless views.
25:55as a first aid...
25:59as a first aid...
26:00how something draws to a close.
26:02What better way to see how much they know about the county...
26:05than with everyone's favourite savoury pudding based game...
26:10You're OK.
26:11Oh, porky.
26:12You're OK.
26:13Oh, porky.
26:14Come on.
26:15Copyright Richie Anderson.
26:16I'm about to read out...
26:19I'm about to read out...
26:20five facts about this wonderful county...
26:22and you need to tell me whether it's a Yorkie...
26:25the truth...
26:26by holding up your Yorkshire pudding...
26:28or a big fat porky...
26:30which is cockney slang for...
26:32It's a lie!
26:33Isn't this game going to be...
26:35super fun.
26:36Yorkie or porky?
26:37Oh, this is going to be great.
26:38It's a Yorkie.
26:39It's going to be fun.
26:40That's the way it is.
26:41Thank you very much.
26:42I think I'm getting it now.
26:43Thank you, Neil.

27:02is the UK's most popular dog breed.
27:05Yorkie or porky?
27:07I'm going to say porky.
27:08I'm going to say York.
27:09I'm going to say York.
27:10It's a porky.
27:11It's a porky.
27:12Neil is 2-1 up.
27:13However, however...
27:15up until the 1990s, the Yorkshire Terrier was the most popular dog breeder.
27:20in the UK.
27:21But the 90s saw the rise of the Labrador and the Retriever who both took the...
27:25hot spot.
27:26I knew it.
27:27The world's first ever football club is from Yorkshire...
27:30True.
27:31Why are you following me?
27:32Because you watch football.
27:33Go on, be your own woman.
27:34Don't do it.
27:35Go against him.

27:51No offence, Sheffield FC.
27:54Question number...
27:55Number four.
27:56In London 2012 at the Olympics, if Yorkshire had competed as its own...
28:00nation, it would have finished 20th in the medal table.
28:04Yorkshire...
28:05It was quite...
28:06It was quite bad.
28:07Are you sure, Neil?
28:08Yeah, I'm sure.
28:09I mean, to keep the game...
28:10Interesting.
28:11If you got this wrong...
28:12Alright.
28:13Oh, Neil!
28:14What are you looking...
28:15Like it's a porky!
28:16You got it right, China!
28:17Well done!
28:18Athletes from Yorkshire actually...
28:20They did so well that they finished 12th.
28:23This county alone beat the likes of...
28:25Spain, Canada and South Africa for gold medals.
28:28It's all those hills.
28:29Exactly.
28:30Keeps you fit.
28:31Keeps you fit.
28:32The final question.
28:33It's 3-2.
28:35So I'm going to award two points to whoever gets it right.
28:38Oh my gosh, this needs to be made.
28:39I know this is such a...
28:40Solid game but we are slightly bending the rules.
28:42So question number five.
28:44A Yorkshire...
28:45Pudding...
28:46Can be any size.
28:47Is...
28:50A porky!
28:51Get in there, China!
28:53A porky!
28:54Get in there, China!
28:55So according to scientists, a Yorkshire pudding is a...
29:00Isn't a Yorkshire pudding if it's less than four inches tall?
29:04Probably...
29:05I don't know.
29:06I don't think those scientists have ever had a Yorkshire pudding in their life personally.
29:08You need depth.
29:09Don't be a sore loser now.
29:10Listen, no one likes that.
29:12We'll see you next time.
29:13It's a great game show.
29:15Oh, we probably won't.
29:17Oh, we probably won't.
29:20I'm off to ring my agent to see if there's been any interest.
29:25One pendle daykey on our way.
29:26dois kindergartna julika on their way.
29:27I've never suffered from a shoulder when it...
29:28Isn't that anéd?
29:29Yes?
29:30Are we stopērt ?
29:31Have you youESSOONE says?
29:32That's what we saw...
29:34Oh, yes.
29:35Isn't that anDENGən ?
29:36Maybe I don't like these times.
29:37And that's what it's like.
29:38Can we haveاؤrt ?
29:39Hm.
29:40Cause everybody knows they're calling you.
29:41I'm sure they're passing away.
29:42I was neverieni by doorway.
29:43You turned up that danke.
29:44I ain't gonna say my hair.
29:46I saw my hair...
29:48It's THOMASTA January.
29:50It's a great day.
29:52Hey.
29:52I was here now.
29:53I'm in store沒事.
29:54on the market for £300,000.
29:59Or for offers over £700,000, this double-fronted farmhouse has a number of...
30:04Lockout features like this kitchen fireplace and homely living room.
30:09Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, while outside has stables and a paddock.
30:14In an elevated position with rural views.
30:19And for something a little out of the ordinary, how about this?
30:24It might look like something from a period drama, and that could...
30:29Could be because it's starred in several.
30:32This 17-bedroom country house sits...
30:34It's on a 3,000-acre estate, and it has a very grand...
30:39Hall, a huge dining room, and a vast library, as well as a...
30:44Making Standout Kitchen, which is part of a three-bedroom self-contained flat...
30:49That's available for £700 per night, with a three-night minimum stay.
30:54What a great first day with...
30:59Neil in China, here in beautiful North Yorkshire.
31:02And the headline, China's...
31:04I feel like she's so wrapped up in how Neil's hers and Havana's new life in the...
31:09country so could be, that she's actually turning into Neil.
31:12She's talking about ripping off roofs...
31:14Knocking down walls, which is great for our mystery house.
31:17I think they're going to love it, because it's one...
31:19Where they can inject a bit of character and love into it.
31:22But before that, a turnkey option, which I...
31:24I hope will mean that they can keep their hands and China's nails clean.
31:29Our exciting day, or search, continues in the North Yorkshire...
31:34...village of Thornton Rust.
31:36Maybe we overuse the phrase...
31:39Picture perfect.
31:40Picture perfect.
31:41But this area is picture perfect.
31:43Even if...
31:44...in wet weather.
31:45Nearby are Aysgarth Falls, that featured in the...
31:49...the works of Turner, Wordsworth, and Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.
31:53It's just a...
31:5415-minute cycle from here, to the house in question.
31:58Look how beautiful.
31:59It is.
32:00Our next offering.
32:01This is really nice.
32:02This is stunning.
32:03One little...
32:04One thing I have to say.
32:05Go on.
32:06Blue door.
32:07I'm a Liverpool supporter, so I prefer a red door.
32:08But it is...
32:09Stunning.
32:10We'll just take down the Manchester United wallpaper inside.
32:12That'll be fine.
32:14That doesn't exist, Neil.
32:15No, it doesn't.
32:16Look at the house.
32:18Look at the house.
32:19It's a stunning house.
32:20It looks big.
32:21Do you know, everything's quite central.
32:22He likes everything symmetrical.
32:23I do like...
32:24I like things symmetrical.
32:25It's nice.
32:26Door in the middle.
32:27Windows either side.
32:28And just to say...
32:29All of that house.
32:30To those windows...
32:31Yeah, that's what I mean.
32:32Oh, you've thrown it off now.
32:33Now it's no longer symmetrical.
32:34What have you done to it?
32:35It's huge.
32:36It is.
32:37That's what I said.
32:38It looks huge.
32:39Real...
32:39Tight-knit community around here.
32:40I was speaking to the owner of this property and 12 months ago they were all talking about
32:44setting up...
32:44their own salsa classes.
32:45But they never got around to it.
32:47So maybe...
32:48This is a sign.
32:49A little salsa in the village.
32:50Three.
32:51I just got the back guys.
32:52I don't want to show anyone it.
32:54But who knows?
32:55Is that a sign, Neil?
32:56Yeah, it could be.
32:57You know, if they're all wanting to get into dancing, it'd be great.
32:59I'm so excited to show you inside this one.
33:02I really am.
33:03It's incredible.
33:04Shall we go and do it?
33:04Let's do it.
33:05Let's do it.
33:06Let's do it.
33:07This semi-detached former farmhouse was...
33:09It's built from stone around 1750 and is grade 2 listed.
33:13It's been...
33:14expertly styled to blend original features with modern colors.
33:19comforts.
33:20I mean, how cozy is this living room?
33:23What is this?
33:24Oh.
33:24Oh, yeah.
33:25This is cozy.
33:26This is a good size.
33:27Yeah.
33:28And the beams were cleaned up by the...
33:29current owners five years ago.
33:30They relayed the floors so they're oak underneath.
33:33Oh, yeah.
33:34Cool.
33:34It's not creaking.
33:35Yeah.
33:36Shall we do the creak test?
33:37Yeah.
33:38And I like how high the ceiling...
33:39things are.
33:40Yes.
33:41Yeah.
33:42Still plenty of light coming through the windows.
33:43Huge windows.
33:44Huge windows.
33:45Yeah.
33:44Could you imagine a nice cozy evening by the fire?
33:47Stunning view.
33:48Yeah.
33:49Normally she's laying down and then straight away she's like massaged my feet.
33:52And I'm thinking, I'm the one that's being done.
33:54Yeah, Neil.
33:55That's much harder than looking after a...
33:59two-year-old.
34:00Poor doll.
34:01So the rear of the house is...
34:04a snug or playroom for Havana.
34:07While at the front is a dining room.
34:09giving access to the kitchen.
34:11Oh, wow.
34:12Oh, this is a good size.
34:13Yeah.
34:14This is what...
34:14I was talking about.
34:15See, I'm here to deliver China, you know what I mean?
34:17Yeah.
34:18This is what I'm talking about.
34:19I mean, the floor as well is this Indian sandstone.
34:22Gorgeous.
34:23Loveless.
34:24Look at those big slate windowsills over there with the cushions on.
34:27Yeah, that's stunning.
34:28Go and have a purge if you want.
34:29No, it's not enough room for both of us, sorry.
34:31This is...
34:32Oh, wow.
34:33No.
34:35Look out the window.
34:36Neil, come on, share.
34:37With my matcha.
34:38Share.
34:39No, this is nice.
34:40This is nice.
34:41I feel like Havana would love this.
34:43Yeah.
34:44Watching...
34:44Watching us cook because she loves to see us cook.
34:46Suture that?
34:47Just China?
34:48Start calling and you're fine.
34:49China sat there.
34:50Could you imagine?
34:52And knowing that you could cook.
34:54And like we say, Havana could sit up here.
34:56Yes.
34:57Reading her books and all like that.
34:58And on a vanity note, I'm...
34:59I'm just going to say, guys, imagine the social media posts on here.
35:02I'm not going to like and see the lighting already.
35:04Yeah.
35:05But it's great lighting.
35:06I mean...
35:07Not going to lie.
35:08How many likes is that going to get?
35:09Come on.
35:09No filter needed, Neil.
35:10You know what I mean?
35:11All those stacked up and reposts.
35:12Wow.
35:14The kitchen window is good for likes, but there's more...
35:19And you're going to love upstairs.
35:20I love this window.
35:21I love it.
35:22I love it.
35:24Where there are four bedrooms.
35:26I love this.
35:27I love the big window.
35:29Yeah.
35:30Ceilings.
35:31Good height.
35:32Yeah.
35:33Perfect.
35:34There's a lot that we could...
35:34do with this.
35:35Oh, another good size room.
35:37I love this.
35:38I feel like this would...
35:39be perfect for Havana.
35:40Do you know what I'm thinking?
35:42A bathtub in the room.
35:44How great is that?
35:45No.
35:46No, Neil.
35:47No.
35:48What do you need a bathtub for?
35:49You don't...
35:49You don't even go in the bath.
35:50I love a bath.
35:51You're literally a shower person.
35:52You go in the bath like...
35:54What?
35:55Twice a year?
35:56No, no.
35:57What do you need a bath in the bedroom for?
35:58I don't want to watch you bath by...
35:59the way whilst I'm in bed.
36:00I am so in love with this charming village.
36:03And one of my...
36:04favourite things is...
36:05It's still got a working telephone box.
36:07Hey, was it Wonder Woman who...
36:09used to go in the telephone box, do the spin...
36:11and then come out in her costume?
36:13Hmm.
36:14to give us a break...
36:16It's a stick...
36:17it's worked.
36:18This hecho haUS....
36:19It didゆake.
36:20To repair.
36:21It was called
36:22you're gonna be too crowd...
36:23Ya fica...
36:24it's blue.
36:25I am so red,
36:26I am so red.
36:26You're gonna lap.
36:27I never do not eat that too direct.
36:28I have no idea what is it.
36:29Super feral emotions last week...
36:30Super feral emotions.
36:32Yeah, you look like
36:32that a mess.
36:33Oh, no...
36:34Yeah, let's say that...
36:35But, you're so red...
36:36You guys are red...
36:37You look like...
36:38I'm like they are building L một...
36:39Versus at the beach and they're not too intense.
36:40Number half...
36:42I'll just say goodbye.
36:43You're in the military.
36:44If we want to have another child, we have another bedroom.
36:47I can already see this.
36:48You really...
36:49I really want this child.
36:50And then we have a guest room.
36:53Or...
36:54If we choose to have a third child...
36:56Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
36:59Or, when I'm in trouble, I can come and stay here.
37:02Sounds more like it.
37:04At the back door is a substantial paved patio.
37:07A lawn wraps around...
37:09The other two sides.
37:10All embellished with elements giving an old world charm.
37:14Plus...
37:16A washing line.
37:18Come and join...
37:19Blimey in the sunshine.
37:20Oh, get that on your face.
37:22Neil, does this garden work for you?
37:24Do you know what?
37:25It's really lovely, but I'm not going to lie.
37:27It's a bit small for me.
37:28Have you looked round there?
37:29Let me have a little look.
37:30And pop your head around.
37:31It's small.
37:32He doesn't know what it's all about.
37:33Is he okay?
37:34Yeah, it's not bad, but, you know, I'm thinking a little bit more land.
37:37Imagine a nice little barbecue...
37:39In the summer.
37:40Love that.
37:41We're outside.
37:42Nice little coffee.
37:43Sun shining.
37:44The room size is good.
37:45The room size is good.
37:46The room size is good.
37:47You only need a little bit.
37:48Maybe...
37:49The price might help.
37:50Okay.
37:51Okay.
37:52I'm actually thinking it's over budget.
37:53Okay.
37:54660.
37:55Well, that won't help us, will it?
37:56China, what do you...
37:57Well, that won't help us, will it?
37:58China, what do you...
37:59What do you think?
38:00I'll say 600.
38:01Imagine if this was 50 grand under budget.
38:04That would be amazing.
38:05No, that would be amazing.
38:06But imagine...
38:07It was even...
38:08If it was 100 grand...
38:09...under budget.
38:10This is on the market for 550,000...
38:14Wow.
38:15Shut the front door.
38:16You've changed your tone.
38:17Wow.
38:19Just make the checkout to escape to the country.
38:21As long as it doesn't cost us 100 grand...
38:23...just to paint that front door.
38:24I'll do it for 99,000.
38:28This former farm...
38:29...house has well-proportioned rooms...
38:31...packed with period charm.
38:33And the garden...
38:34...is pretty as a picture.
38:36All for 550,000 pounds.
38:39I have to say, what's nice is it's tanky.
38:42You can just move straight in.
38:44I don't know.
38:45There's just something about me.
38:46I just...
38:47I'm itching for a project.
38:48You don't need...
38:49...a project.
38:50We don't need something that we need to add heating.
38:52Electricity.
38:53Walls.
38:54Roof.
38:55I'm sure I can find something.
38:57No.
38:59No.
39:00No.
39:01No.
39:02No.
39:03No.
39:04No.
39:05No.
39:06No.
39:07No.
39:08No.
39:09No.
39:09No.
39:10No.
39:11No.
39:12No.
39:13No.
39:14No.
39:15No.
39:16No.
39:17No.
39:18No.
39:19No.
39:20No.
39:21No.
39:22No.
39:23No.
39:24No.
39:25No.
39:26No.
39:27No.
39:28No.
39:29No.
39:30No.
39:31No.
39:32No.
39:33No.
39:34No.
39:35No.
39:36No.
39:37No.
39:38And one thing after another, I found myself homeless.
39:41And it was just one of those things that you...
39:43You find yourself embarrassed.
39:45You don't want to tell friends and family.
39:48And you're trying to hide it the best you can.
39:51But luckily enough, you know...
39:53Charity came along and they helped me out and really...
39:58You just helped me find the way what I could do.
40:01So, you know, because of them...
40:03I feel like it's where I am today.
40:06In towns like Harrogate...
40:08Local businesses work alongside charities by offering essentials including...
40:13Clothes and food.
40:16So why is it important for you to get involved?
40:18And donate this to people in the community and the wider rural community who are...
40:23in need at the moment?
40:24I think it's because Betty's has been part of the local community for over 100 years.
40:28They've given us so much so we feel like we really want to give back to everyone else.
40:33So we usually donate most of our breakfast items and our breads, things that stay...
40:38fresh for a couple of days.
40:40Well, Lizzie, we are your delivery men.
40:42Yes.
40:43Amazing.
40:44You look a little bit underwhelmed.
40:45Shall we start backing it up?
40:46Yes.
40:48We're taking these foodstuffs along with other donations to St. Peter's...
40:53Church.
40:54Look at that.
40:55Where cooked breakfasts, free of charge...
40:58are made available to those in need of one.
41:03Alan Garrow is one of the vicars.
41:06What is the ethos?
41:08Behind the breakfast club?
41:09We want anybody who needs it to have a place where they can be warm, known...
41:13received, accepted, given some food and sent out into the day, hopefully...
41:18feeling somebody loves me, somebody knows who I am, somebody cares about me, someone will
41:22mind if I don't come.
41:23The next day.
41:24Coming to a place like this, the same for me, helped me.
41:28Because, you know, it was the one place I actually felt welcomed and I didn't feel embarrassed.
41:32I never felt embarrassed.
41:33And that's...
41:33I think that's incredible what you're doing.
41:35How important is the issue of food poverty?
41:38in rural communities?
41:39Well, food is expensive and I think that...
41:43employment in rural communities is also not necessarily easy to get hold of.
41:48People might think that Harrogate is a place where the streets are paved with gold, but you can see today.
41:53There are people with genuine need here, so that will be true everywhere.
41:57And one thing...
41:58What I imagine you could both agree on, a place like this really relies on volunteers?
42:03It takes five people to do a breakfast service and we do it Monday through to Saturday.
42:08So that's quite a lot of people, but they're incredibly generous people, they have to be here.
42:13At 7.30 in the morning there, through until about 9.15.
42:17Yeah, of course.
42:18I'm joining the lovely volunteers in the kitchen.
42:21Thankfully, I'm with these two incredible...
42:23ladies, Sue and Veronica.
42:24How long have you been volunteering for Veronica?
42:26Since...
42:27er...
42:28...
42:28...
42:29Well, you've been here longer, Sue, haven't you?
42:3020 years?
42:31We've been going to see them for 20 years!
42:32We've been going to see them for 20 years!
42:33Yes!
42:34Sue, that's amazing!
42:36And Neil is front of house...
42:38... taking the orders.
42:39Bacon?
42:40Yes, please.
42:41Beans?
42:42Yes, please.
42:43This is my first time, can I get?
42:43What are you doing fine?
42:44No sauce.
42:45Coffee on sugar, please.
42:46Thanks.
42:47I'll get that sorted out for you straight away.
42:48You know, I've been in this situation, and I remember just the little bits of...
42:53help, where it's either a place to stay, or, you know, warm food.
42:57It's everything, you know.
42:58Because it's one little thing you don't have to worry about.
43:02Janie is a...
43:03regular here, following the death of her mother, for whom she was a carer.
43:09I've been coming here for about two years.
43:11Yeah.
43:12When I first came here, I was really...
43:13really thin, because I wasn't eating hardly anything.
43:15Oh, okay.
43:16And they've really built me up.
43:18I feel much better now.
43:19Oh, that's brilliant.
43:20So it's a wonderful church.
43:22It's always nice and...
43:23warm in here.
43:24Yeah.
43:25Where I'm staying, my room is absolutely freezing.
43:27And they're so good, we've got...
43:28a bag.
43:29Every year we get a bag.
43:30Yeah.
43:31A Christmas bag.
43:32With about eight...
43:33things in it, from socks, pair of gloves.
43:36Because that's the thing.
43:37That's what people don't realise.
43:38Yeah, yeah.
43:39That's the important stuff, you know.
43:40Yes, yeah.
43:41Because I've been in that same situation.
43:43And then even when I'm walking along, if I do see someone...
43:46Yeah.
43:47It's more likely, do you need to...
43:48something?
43:49Yes, yes.
43:50What do you need?
43:51Because it might be something...
43:52Someone might just turn around and go...
43:53I've got no toothpaste.
43:54Yeah.
43:55You know, it could just be that you chose a career...
43:58that's just turned upside down.
44:00And just that one little thing's gone wrong.
44:02And next thing you know...
44:03when you're on the street.
44:04Everyone will have their own story.
44:06But you do get people just walking past you.
44:08you know, constantly.
44:09And they're just put in their own heads...
44:11who you are and what you've done.
44:13Everyone is so kind here.
44:15And so nice.
44:16And that's what I'm picking up.
44:17And that's...
44:18that's really important because it is about being seen.
44:21The number of homeless people in...
44:23rural communities is growing.
44:25But the problem is less visible than in towns.
44:28with some people taking shelter in remote barns...
44:30or camping in fields.
44:33And I've met so many friends...
44:34because if I didn't come here...
44:35I wouldn't have anybody.
44:36Yeah.
44:37I'd literally be on...
44:38on my own.
44:39I just love it.
44:43All right.
44:44I can't be, I'm...
44:45No, no.
44:47I can't be Karenaяз threatening under the house.
44:48Maija-Hang.
44:53Our final Dales offering is in the Yorkshire village of Stalling Busk.
44:58Which according to an online source, you know the one, means Stallions Bush.
45:04Blimey.
45:05And it is...
45:08Dazzling.
45:10Here we go then.
45:12It's Mystery House time.
45:13And I'm not going to lie, this one's for Neil.
45:16It needs a little bit of love.
45:18But I promise you, all the bones are there.
45:21And yesterday, China hinted that she...
45:23It wouldn't be against a project, so it could be a match made in heaven.
45:27Come on, I'll show you what...
45:28This stone cottage lay derelict for some time and is now...
45:33It's now used as a second home.
45:35It currently doesn't have central heating and requires...
45:38What really excites me is Neil's a vision...
45:43He's so extraordinary.
45:44He's so creative.
45:45And I just know that he's going to start pimping.
45:48It's in exactly what he wants to do with it.
45:50And there's just so much potential.
45:53While China is less keen on a project, hopefully the...
45:58Location will win her round.
46:00I mean...
46:01Wowzers.
46:03This is lovely.
46:05Well, it's just as well you said it's lovely because this...
46:08This is your mystery house.
46:10Wow.
46:11This is stunning.
46:12I love all this...
46:13I love the stonework.
46:14I think the stonework is beautiful and to me...
46:18Looks like a project.
46:19I don't know if this is too much of a project.
46:22No.
46:23Never too much of a project.
46:24It's not just this.
46:25What?
46:26The outbuildings here.
46:28As part of the house.
46:29Yeah, Jay.
46:30And...
46:31Not joking, Neil.
46:32I'm a serious man.
46:33Also, the building here.
46:34This used to be a pottery kiln.
46:35Oh.
46:36So all of this is part...
46:38The mystery house.
46:39That is so...
46:40It's a lot of...
46:41Work.
46:43This potentially could be for friends.
46:46Yes.
46:47Like we could literally put it...
46:48Its own little living room in it.
46:49Kitchen maybe.
46:50Erm...
46:51And when I'm looking at that...
46:53I don't know what it's like on the inside.
46:54But that could be a possible studio.
46:55Should we go and have a look on the inside?
46:56Can we?
46:57Of course we can.
46:58Oh, my God, Neil.
46:59This is your mystery house.
47:00You can do what you want.
47:01Yes.
47:02I'm the...
47:03Not sure Neil's addressed China's concern there.
47:06But I love his enthusiasm.
47:08Previous inquiries suggest both barns could be renovated for residential units.
47:14Straight away...
47:15Dance studio.
47:16The Neil Jones School of Dancing.
47:18Yeah.
47:19Do you know what it is?
47:20It's quite easy.
47:21I've done it before.
47:22Leveled out the whole floor.
47:23It's whether you choose to dig down and in or you can actually just build up...
47:28a structure that makes the floor slightly higher.
47:30Yeah.
47:31Because it's such high ceilings.
47:32Of course.
47:33Not a problem.
47:33What's nice about it is it's time that I get to spend with you two.
47:38The girls.
47:39Because usually I guess at this point I think you'd go away to a studio.
47:41Go away.
47:42So it can be on your...
47:43New doorstep.
47:44I could literally wake up in the morning.
47:45If Anna could watch you.
47:46She could watch.
47:47If we've got the extra space there...
47:48I can bring some of the dancers up.
47:49Don't forget Blackpool week.
47:50Could it be Yorkshire week?
47:51Yeah.
47:52Honestly.
47:54What do you think China?
47:57It's some...
47:58It's a good thing.
47:59It's a good space.
48:00It's an incredible space.
48:01Erm...
48:02Yeah.
48:03Technically she said yes Neil.
48:06I'd quit while you're ahead.
48:08Let's go and see the main house.
48:10I mean this is just potential inspection.
48:13I've made loads.
48:14This is stunning.
48:15The tradition in here.
48:17The...
48:18It beams.
48:19The open brickwork around the fire.
48:21Mmm.
48:22And...
48:23Imagine.
48:24Like even like sanding these down.
48:25Lighting them up.
48:26You can make this...
48:28Into...
48:29Our dream home.
48:30Like...
48:31I see the vision.
48:32Yes!
48:33The bones are there chopping out.
48:34It's there.
48:35The structure's there.
48:36Look.
48:37Look at this space.
48:38This...
48:38This is...
48:39You've got to think.
48:40I see the space.
48:41I'm seeing the space.
48:43We'll get it done before we move in.
48:45How long will that tick?
48:46Two years?
48:47No!
48:48No!
48:48The right people.
48:49It could be done real quick.
48:50Mmm.
48:51How great would it be China to know that you...
48:53You've...
48:54Done this up.
48:55Yourself.
48:56That is true.
48:57Yes.
48:58Maybe when I see the...
48:58The rest of the rooms.
48:59I might change my mind.
49:01Shall we go through to the kitchen?
49:02Yes.
49:03Follow me.
49:04And keep those vision goggles on China.
49:06It's so good.
49:07Rawr!
49:08Those vision goggles need turning up for the utility room, which requires...
49:13a bit of finishing, but the kitchen is in a better state.
49:18Oh, wow.
49:19Come on.
49:20Okay.
49:21Oh, China.
49:22This...
49:23This isn't that bad.
49:24What's going on?
49:25It's the light.
49:26The view.
49:28The view is stunning, isn't it?
49:29Look at that.
49:30Oh, hey.
49:31This is nice.
49:32This is...
49:33This is incredible.
49:34When it comes to interior, I trust her 100%.
49:36But do you not think it's a bit much?
49:38No.
49:39No.
49:40Because we're still young.
49:41You're still young.
49:43We're a similar age now.
49:44Don't do me dirty like that.
49:46We are all young.
49:48We're still young.
49:49Very young.
49:50And we're looking for a forever home.
49:51Let your imagination run away with you.
49:53Oh, I am.
49:54Pretend you're planning couple's choice.
49:55Oh, yeah.
49:56This is going to be the best couple's choice.
49:58This is...
49:59It might be more of an individual choice.
50:00Yeah.
50:01I think it's couple's choice.
50:02This is...
50:03This is...
50:03This is getting a BAFTA, this one.
50:05How long have you been on Strictly for now?
50:07Er, 10 years.
50:0810 years?
50:0910 years.
50:10Did you get something for your 10th year?
50:11You don't get a partner, for sure, but...
50:14That's the 11th year.
50:15That's the 11th year.
50:16Yeah.
50:17Maybe, maybe I'll be on the Christmas...
50:18This is a special and I'll win it.
50:19So, the downstairs of the house...
50:21Yes.
50:22How would you sum it up?
50:23So far, I think it is absolutely brilliant.
50:26In China, I feel like...
50:28You need to see a bit more of the house.
50:29Yeah, I need to see a bit more.
50:30I'll ask you that question at the end.
50:31Yeah.
50:32Try and have a look upstairs.
50:33Yes.
50:34Those...
50:35These stairs are quite nice.
50:36They're nice, aren't they?
50:37These are great because you can dance.
50:38Oh!
50:39These...
50:40They're well.
50:41See, and that's what I don't want.
50:43I have enough of that on a daily basis.
50:45See, it's making me feel all really creative.
50:47I love...
50:48Do you know what we want to see now?
50:50China do it.
50:51Come on, China.
50:52Go on, China.
50:53Dun, dun, dun.
50:54Dun, dun, dun, dun.
50:55Hoo, hoo.
50:56That was...
50:57That was...
50:58That was quite good.
50:59No, I'm joking.
51:00It was very good, China.
51:01It was very good.
51:02A major...
51:03The main point of this house is the amount of space, and upstairs the brochure list
51:08five bedrooms.
51:09This could be a little bit of an area where Havana can play around.
51:13Right now, it does feel dark.
51:15Hmm.
51:16I'd say remove the roof.
51:18What has she got against roofs?
51:22The largest bedroom...
51:23Is at the front of the house.
51:25Oh, this is fantastic.
51:26I like this.
51:27I think this is probably...
51:28my favourite part of the house.
51:30Like, I love...
51:31the beams.
51:32Yeah.
51:33It has a lot of potential.
51:34I do see...
51:35Yeah.
51:36It has a lot of potential.
51:37I do see...
51:38There's a family bathroom, which we won't worry China with for now.
51:43Because I think she'll be more impressed by the additional reception room downstairs.
51:49Oh, yeah.
51:50Okay.
51:51This is cosy.
51:52This is cosy.
51:53Do you know what I'm saying here?
51:54Dining room.
51:55Oh, I was going to say playroom.
51:57You've got the living...
51:58You've got the living room through there, but you can come through.
52:00The kitchen is there.
52:01Friends and that could be sat in the...
52:03The living room.
52:04And you're like, food's ready.
52:05And they come through that door and you're just coming...
52:08You can come through with a tray.
52:09Like...
52:10Or you can come through with a tray.
52:11Like...
52:12Yeah.
52:13Yeah.
52:13And you can be sat down.
52:14Head at the table.
52:16How nice is that?
52:17I'm...
52:18I'm seeing it.
52:21Outside is incredible.
52:23I'd move straight into that barn for views like this.
52:28Wow.
52:29Richie, look at these views.
52:31Listen...
52:32Okay.
52:33The reason I wanted to bring you here was for this.
52:36I mean...
52:37I...
52:38I don't think I've ever seen a view like this.
52:40This is...
52:41From a property.
52:42Honestly.
52:43Absolutely.
52:43Stunning.
52:44Okay.
52:45You should have started with that.
52:46I'm thinking...
52:47Infinity...
52:48Pool.
52:49Looking out.
52:50Or...
52:51Sauna.
52:52With the glass window.
52:53Looking...
52:53Looking out.
52:54Wow.
52:55And tell me...
52:56Do we get that bit of land as well?
52:57This is all your garden.
52:58Everything you can see.
52:59Wow.
53:00Oh wow.
53:01This is all your boundary.
53:02I'm not gonna lie.
53:03It's a great size garden.
53:05Should we talk about the price of the house?
53:07Yeah.
53:08Where?
53:09I'm gonna say...
53:10500.
53:11500,000 pounds.
53:12500,000 pounds.
53:13And...
53:14I wanna say...
53:15It could be like...
53:16More like...
53:17450.
53:18China...
53:18Correct.
53:19It's on the market for...
53:20500,000 pounds.
53:21So...
53:22150,000...
53:23That's amazing.
53:24Under budget.
53:25Wow.
53:26That's incredible.
53:27So all those things you're talking about...
53:28Really help...
53:29Towards it.
53:30About 100%.
53:31Priceless views and...
53:33Well under budget.
53:34This substantial stone cottage...
53:36Is packed with potential...
53:38Only limited by imagination.
53:40As long as Neil can...
53:41Sell China on it.
53:43I know that nobody's being objectives...
53:44Is to go to work to...
53:45Is to go to work to continue.
53:46들 prao positive pay.
53:47There's also...
53:48There are usual ways on...
53:49Is to go to exercises are different.
53:50Do not, y'all.
53:51Why?
53:52Which means they're so...
53:53That has increased support with...
53:54There's some messages that were...
53:55Right?
53:56You would see those...
53:57They may be moving through the...
53:58Home to interestingly.
53:59It may be closer to that...
54:00I know.
54:01It's a great deal.
54:02Their Simon and
54:12It's the last property.
54:14In the mystery house.
54:15In the mystery house.
54:16I see the vision.
54:17I'm so excited about it because the views, number one.
54:22You know what?
54:23You've got to agree on that.
54:25It's one of those things where...
54:27Some of the houses were beautiful.
54:29Inside you walk around going, this is great.
54:31This is lovely.
54:32But there's a reason why we're moving to the countryside.
54:35I'm definitely down...
54:37Selling the boat.
54:38Yeah.
54:39I love my boat.
54:40But I'm down for selling the boat because...
54:42Honestly, if that means we can get that property and we can use that money...
54:47It's also to be able to do it up.
54:49I'm down for that.
54:50But another project?
54:52And another project of a bigger scale and you are...
54:57We're not always working underway.
54:59I know, but look.
55:00But think about this.
55:01Rome wasn't built in a day.
55:02But look at Rome now.
55:03It's stunning.
55:04And how many years did that take?
55:05Yeah, we won't take as long because I want to be...
55:07We're running around for the end of it.
55:08But remember, I had two years of the boat being built.
55:11Yeah.
55:12Built.
55:12and then now you want me to have it probably another two years of
55:17property but the difference is I was doing most of the work on the boat this one I come up with
55:22designs but I'll let professionals go because they're going to be quicker so that means when
55:26I'm on tour it still happens
55:27if Neil goes in like he says he is and he did all the work
55:32to it and he gave that incredible property in that credible setting a new
55:37lease of life could that be somewhere where you could see yourself bringing up a family
55:42oh 100% I can see the potential I just then don't
55:47want to see it until it's done it's fine fine by me listen I honestly think the world of both of you
55:52and I cannot wait to be the first guest in that guest house over the road
55:57yeah oh we'll put you in the main house don't worry oh yeah where's China going to sleep
56:02don't worry I won't be there
56:07I've had so many
56:12such a wonderful week exploring the magical and charming North Yorkshire country
56:17side I mean I would give that a 10 and for someone like Neil who spent all of his
56:22life on the move I'm delighted to hear that he wants to lay down his family's roots
56:27in a surrounding like this but why wouldn't you and China
56:32I'm sorry I tried with the turnkey properties but this is Neil he was always going to be
56:37grabbed by a project he was always going to want to get his teeth stuck into
56:42something I'm so happy to hear that they're taking our mystery house seriously they're going to
56:47go away now and just work out their finances and like Neil said he's even considering
56:52selling his beloved boat but come on when this is on your doorstep
56:57who needs a boat
56:59who needs a boat
