00:00There will always be imperfections in any movie, sometimes plot holes, loose ends,

00:05or general issues with the story that don't quite make sense, and this is where the audience

00:10s disbelief needs to be appropriately suspended.

00:13This can be difficult however when a person is

00:15a character just disappears without a trace.

00:17It happens more often than you think, but what

00:20about over the last 5 years?

00:22So let's dive in as I'm Adam from WhatCulture and he

00:25here are 8 recent movie characters that just disappeared.

00:28Number 8.

00:29The Under-

00:30There have been a handful of franchises within the realms of Pixar's

00:35that have seen something of a revival after many, many years.

00:38Toy Story 3 came out-

00:40About 11 years after Toy Story 2, there were 12 and 13 years between Monsters Inc. and

00:45Monsters U, and Finding Nemo and Finding Dory respectively, and joining the-

00:50this list is The Incredibles.

00:5114 years after the original movie cut short, the titular fam-

00:55family's fight with the Underminer, Incredibles 2 picked up exactly where the narrative left

00:59off.

01:00Tony Reitinger was in the custody of Rick Dicker, and told of the fight that had ensued.

01:05In 2003, the Underminer only appeared at the end of The Incredibles after having nothing-

01:10to do with the overall story.

01:12He was there as something of a tease for the family fighting together-

01:15as a proper superhero team, and in a similar way, he was only involved in the sequel-

01:20at the very start, again having nothing to do with the overall main story.

01:25The villain-

01:25The villain got away from The Incredibles at the start of the sequel, making off with

01:28immeasurable amounts of money-

01:30but because of the collateral damage and the supers in general, no one seemed to care.

01:35He was forgotten about, and no one was particularly interested in tracking him down or bringing-

01:40him to justice.

01:42Efficient Man, Glass Onion

01:44As a sequel-

01:45to Rian Johnson's incredibly popular Knives Out from 2019, with the exception of Ben-

01:50Cois Blanc, Glass Onion boasted a completely different cast.

01:53Marta Cabrera and the three-

01:55Brombees were replaced with Miles Braun and his disruptor friends, though the delicious-

02:00of the mystery remained throughout.

02:02Though Miles Braun himself was supposedly one of the world's-

02:05smartest billionaires.

02:06He was in fact an idiot with enough money to pay intelligent people to earn-

02:10his reputation for him.

02:11He then simply sat back and enjoyed his own private island and the m-

02:15Mona Lisa on hire without ever really breaking a sweat.

02:18One such thing as money paid for-

02:20was seemingly a hassle-free COVID vaccination.

02:23The characters were all able to remove their-

02:25masks and go about their daily lives as normal after a quick spray from Ethan Hawke's character-

02:30known simply in the credits as Efficient Man.

02:33Because it was an actor as big as Ethan Hawke-

02:35it was surprising that Efficient Man had no further role to play in the movie.

02:39He literally showed-

02:40He turned up, vaccinated everyone with no context as to exactly who he was, and then was-

02:45never heard of or seen again.

02:476.

02:48The Detachable Kid, The Suicide-

02:50The Suicide Squad

02:51The cast of The Suicide Squad was so ridiculous in size that it seemed impossible-

02:55to fit everyone into one movie.

02:57It all made sense by the end of the first few scenes, however-

03:00when half of the titular team were gunned down on Corto Maltese.

03:04The likes of Captain-

03:05Boomerang, Blackguard, Savant, and more bit the dust serving as a distraction-

03:10to allow Bloodsport's true Task Force X onto the island.

03:14It seemed as though Weasel-

03:15died during the chaotic opening, but the post-credits scene saw him simply get up and walk up-

03:20away.

03:21But what about The Detachable Kid, aka TDK?

03:24Nathan Fillion's-

03:25character may have had a crap power and a crap way of using it, but he actually didn't die on that-

03:30the beach like most of the team did, while slapping and pawing at the Corto Maltese soldiers-

03:35TDK's arms were shot to hell, leaving him writhing in pain on the floor.

03:40However, the opening credits sequence that followed confirmed that TDK wasn't actually dead-

03:45but was instead in critical condition.

03:47So, what happened to him?

03:49Was he a-

03:50Was he ever extracted off the beach or was he left there to die by the heartless and ruthless Amanda Wong?

03:55Weasel survived and will reprise his role in Creature Commandos.

03:59So did James-

04:00The Detachable Kid keep TDK alive with the intention of bringing him back?

04:05Kingo Eternals-

04:06This entry is slightly different from the rest in that the character-

04:10at least announced that he was disappearing.

04:12While everyone else just went without so much as a good bo-

04:15I-

04:16Kingo actually let everyone know what he was doing, and even returned to the screen before

04:20the-

04:20The End of Eternals.

04:21All that being said, however, he undoubtedly still disappeared.

04:25And at a key point in the movie, Icarus had been revealed as the villain, and he and-

04:30Sprite were about to go toe-to-toe with the rest of the Eternals, whether Tiamut's emergence-

04:35happened or not directly affected the future of the entire human race.

04:39And yet Kingo decided-

04:40He decided to take a step back.

04:41The rest of the Eternals were his brothers and sisters, and the-

04:45Even though it's admirable in a way to remain neutral in such a situation, did anyone actually

04:50believe-

04:50That as a major character, he would manage to stay out of it entirely.

04:54Kingo was no-

04:55There was nowhere to be seen for the entire final battle.

04:58Realistically, he may as well have gotten in-

05:00Involved, as he still ended up at the mercy of Arisham next to Cersei and Phastos anyway-

05:054.

05:06Mike, Sing Too

05:08Sing is a genuinely enjoyable-

05:10Kids film, even in spite of its singing competition premise, with a stunning cast to boot.

05:15Alongside the phenomenal voices of Reese Witherspoon, Taryn Edgerton, Scarlett Johansson, and-

05:20More was Seth MacFarlane.

05:21The Family Guy creator's character, Mike, was a tiny-

05:25Mouse with one hell of a voice, but an attitude that got him in trouble on more than one occasion-

05:30When the little guy didn't appear or even get a mention in 2021's Sing Too-

05:35There was a theory equal parts dark and compelling.

05:38Mike likely would never have-

05:40He would have returned to be in Buster's new show anyway, as he was solely there for the money.

05:44But could it be that-

05:47He would have returned to the movie because he had been killed by the bears who were chasing him.

05:50The big grizzly hanging off the back-

05:52Of Mike's car is the last we see of him after all.

05:55Harder to explain is the absence of both-

05:57Pete and Eddie, who were present at the re-opening of the New Moon Theatre at the end of Sing, and-

06:02There were three bunnies at the start of Sing Too that were clearly part of the production, but had absolutely not-

06:07Nothing to do with the excursion to Red Shore City or the new show at the Majestic.

06:12The Fourth Skrull-

06:14Captain Marvel-

06:15In 2019, Captain Marvel-

06:17Introduced to the MCU, not only Carol Danvers herself, Maria and Monica Rambeau-

06:22And the mind-boggling Flerken, it also brought to life for the first time the Skrulls.

06:27Even better, the movie actually did a fantastic job of portraying the race as the villains-

06:32Of the piece, before pulling the rug from under audiences with a genuinely shocking revelation-

06:37Back when everyone thought they were evil invading aliens, there were four Skrulls that la-

06:42Landed on Earth, they each shifted into the shape of someone on that beach, but not all four-

06:47Are to be accounted for by the time the credits rolled.

06:50There was of course Talos, his science-

06:52This guy Norex who was killed by Yon-Rogg, and the Skrull posing as Agent Coulson who died-

06:57In Nick Fury's car.

06:58Now, for anyone keeping count, you won't be shocked to learn that we are-

07:02Still one slippery Skrull short.

07:04It could be that Norex was the alien that morphed into-

07:07What happened to the old woman that Carol fought on the bus?

07:09In which case, what happened to the fourth Skrull-

07:12If Norex wasn't the alien that morphed into the old woman that Carol fought on the bus,

07:19Either way you look at it, there is a Skrull still em-

07:23Nagini, Fantastic Beasts, The Secrets of Dumbledore

07:27Outside of the likes of the Dumbledores, Newt Scamander's name on the Moders map, and-

07:32And the canon breaking McGonagall name drop that made no sense-

07:35There aren't too many characters that appear-

07:37In both the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter franchises.

07:40One such character is-

07:42Nagini, and because of this, audiences already know what her ultimate fate would be-

07:47Several decades down the line, the Maledictus would have permanently transformed into a snake-

07:52Be one of Voldemort's most trusted allies, and a Horcrux no less, and would be sliced in

07:57half by Neville Longbottom.

07:58Even with this knowledge, there were some twists and turns during Fantastic Beasts.

08:02The Crimes of Grindelwald.

08:04Firstly, the fact that Nagini appeared as a human woman-

08:07was mind-blowing.

08:08But by the end of the movie, she actually aligned herself with Newt, and the-

08:12other heroes.

08:13With a compelling story between here and where she would ultimately end up, she-

08:17was completely left out of Fantastic Beasts, The Secrets of Dumbledore.

08:21No explanation-

08:22Though musуса by his velocidad-

08:23No explanation for her absence, she just simply disappeared from the narrative altogether.

08:25It never turned out to the process that she couldร

08:46Jordan, who brought with him an anime-inspired fighting style, but it was also the first

08:51in the franchise.

08:51Throughout all of the Rocky movies and the first

08:56two entries in the Creed franchise, Rocky was a mainstay, and yet for Creed 3, he

09:01didn't appear.

09:02It was a decision made by Stallone himself due to creative differences.

09:06But what about in terms of the narrative?

09:08There are a couple of potential reasons for the Italian style of the movie.

09:11Firstly, by the time of the threequels' events, Adonis is retired at a time.

09:16And living out in LA, as far away from Philly as you could possibly get in the USA.

09:21There really wouldn't be any need for Rocky to be out there.

09:24There is also a darker possibility particularly

09:26pertaining to Rocky's poor health in the first Creed movie.

09:29Whatever the reason, however, it seems-

09:31a strange decision to give audiences absolutely no closure on the subject whatsoever.

09:36Donny couldn't have just given him a call, or just mentioned in passing to Bianca how he

09:41was doing.
