00:15Of commanders fans hate Ben Johnson, but he's one of the best offensive minded coaches in the
00:20NFL. And clearly he's turned things around for the bears and he had high praise for
00:25David Blau when he was asked in his press conference about his promotion after spending 2019.
00:302023 together when David Blau was the quarterback for the lions. Now, John.
00:35Johnson went on to say, and I quote, yeah, he's got a bright future as well. He's really smart. Has
00:40a natural way of connecting with everybody coaches and players alike. And I know he's
00:45highly respected, not just for me, but also obviously by the Washington staff.
00:50This is something that stuck out to me. They found tremendous value in him as well.
00:55He also said that having played quarterback, it's helped him elevate the position,
00:58but also it's going to help him as a play.
01:00Caller moving forward. And it's something that he's doing for the first time. First time running
01:03an offense. First time.
01:05Calling plays. There's a lot of uncertainty. And he said that he might even be one of the next young
01:10coaches in the NFL. So Commanders fans needed to hear this. And honestly, a lot of people forget.
01:15But Ben Johnson tried to hire Blau last off season in his first staff.
01:20Chicago, but Washington blocked the move. And then the Lions try to interview him for an offensive
01:25coordinator position this off season. But the Commanders went ahead and promoted him in-house.
01:29And now.
01:30Now we get to see if Blau could be one of the next up and coming young offensive minded coaches.
