00:00the sport in Texas is football mainly in high school so my dad was like oh we'll put him in
00:24football like make sure he's a football player and so started playing football there and that
00:29kind of became my life and there wasn't really time for much else but during that I realized like it
00:35wasn't my passion it was just my passion that my dad and my parents had for me and other people had
00:40for me getting recruited out of high school to go play in college was the best and the worst thing
00:48I think it was the best because it was like oh everything I've worked for is finally coming to
00:53fruition but I also saw it as kind of like an imprisonment for the next four years at least
00:59of this is going to be my life I'm going to be stuck doing this and I don't have another option
01:04I think football whenever I was playing still was very much not the most accepting and you know there
01:10was Colton Underwood and people like that but most of it happened after they had finished playing I
01:16think it would have been very impactful if I did it while I was still playing and showing up every day
01:21even if it did make it harder on me to some point towards the end of our season I was really stressed
01:26and I got ulcerative colitis and was hospitalized for three days and they think that stress was the
01:32trigger from that and for me it was like the stress of being closeted going in every day faking who I am
01:37for years on end I think it just finally built up and steamrolled it was kind of like a like a big
01:44middle finger to everyone because I've been saying it for so many years of like this is causing me to be
01:49sick like you know faking who I am and I would be telling my parents and they supported me in the
01:54sense of love who you love but at the same time they were like we want you to play football and
01:59live this life too and I met with my coach and he was like you have two options you can medically
02:04retire which is where I would continue getting my school and education paid for through Rutgers
02:10and just not have to play football or be there and do what I want or I can go transfer to another
02:16school and keep playing football and my parents were kind of pushing for the football route in
02:22the beginning of like transfer and I was like nope I'm medically retiring I'm done moving to New York
02:27so that's what I did moved all my classes online medically retired and then came to New York and
02:34been doing a little bit of everything since that makes me happy modeling beauty fashion fashion weeks
02:40and just saying where it takes me
